You gotta pay the Koei Tecmo tax to get your Hyrule Warriors character
Since Hyrule Warriors is a full blown franchise with three games now (and all on the Switch)... Do you think we'll see Hyrule Warriors content in Smash?
and it’s their fault we have 4 pathsKoei Tecmo (specifically Kou Shibusawa) worked on Three Houses and lot of the parts of that game were made by them alongside Intelligent Systems.
and it’s their fault we have 4 paths
Yeah, but usually one of those paths is the direction you came from. So you're only choosing between 3 paths forward.crossroads have 4 paths
Three Hopes only had 3 routes which was also developed by Koei Tecmo so it was probably because of Intelligent Systems.and it’s their fault we have 4 paths
Jesse...crossroads have 4 paths and existed long before Koei Tecmo did.
I could be wrong, but I think they meant story paths in Fire Emblem: Three Houses.Yeah, but usually one of those paths is the direction you came from. So you're only choosing between 3 paths forward.
But you can turn around and go the path you came from forward too.Yeah, but usually one of those paths is the direction you came from. So you're only choosing between 3 paths forward.

Golden Deer is actually the copy outside of the Final Boss since Silver Snow which is the route for Black Eagles where non of the lords are available after the time split was written first.Although I think there's technically 5 with DLC, and one of them I was told was pretty much just Golden Deer's Path again.
I should mention that Mona herself has off-handedly remarked that Wario has apparently taken her along on some of his treasure-hunting expeditions, so it's not as though she'd be a newbie to such a thing.I have been thinking about this lately with Cractus in Move It and Wario potentially trying to use Puffy Wario (last seen in Wario Land 4 in 2001 unless you count Wario's appearance in Starfy 3 in 2004 lol) in the ending to get out of the seat he gets stuck in, would love to see Wario Land come back with all these revivals flying around lately.
And considering Mona's theme in Mega Party Games is a remix of the Item Shop from Wario Land 4 and in DIY she went and explored an ancient temple, I'd be down for Mona joining in in either role you mentioned.
I could have sworn that Picross had a not-Mario mascot of sorts...?Is there any possible way to represent Picross with a playable character?
This is an idea I've brought up a couple times, but it was pretty vehemently disliked due to the fact you'd have to fight a regular dog. Duck Hunt gets away with it because they're so cartoony, but Nintendogs get too close to animal abuse for most people's liking. This was never brought up, but the fact that they wouldn't be fighting contextually probably makes things worse. You could totally make Nintendogs playable in a similar way that Duck Hunt fights where you have a background character doing things with the DS stylus as the dogs do tricks and other things.
Just a random thought I had recently![]()
it was koei techmo who wanted the games 4th route, crimson flowerThree Hopes only had 3 routes which was also developed by Koei Tecmo so it was probably because of Intelligent Systems.
Fire Emblem Fates had a secret 3rd Route despite the marketing focusing on the main two.
you were rightI could be wrong, but I think they meant story paths in Fire Emblem: Three Houses.
I can see that. However,This is an idea I've brought up a couple times, but it was pretty vehemently disliked due to the fact you'd have to fight a regular dog. Ayumi Tachibana is stylized, this is not what a real human girl looks like.I can see that. However,
I think we’re fine. If people can want regular human teenage girl Ayumi Tachibana I think I can want a Nintendog, or else I’ll start vilifying how terrible it is that all of you would want to harm an innocent teenage girl with a bright future ahead of her.![]()
To be fair, due to genre conventions, a puppy could defend itself if they made it a playable character because otherwise you wouldn't be able to play the game. Also teenagers at least have the ability to defend themselves, puppies do not.
I mean sure, but there's a big difference between a detective who was part of a Naginata Club and a puppy you just adopted from the kennel lmaoTo be fair, due to genre conventions, a puppy could defend itself if they made it a playable character because otherwise you wouldn't be able to play the game.
Yeah, the whole point of Nintendogs is that it's a virtual pet game. You're supposed to become attached to the puppies, enough that people report feeling guilty for opening up their copies after a long time because of the sense that they've neglected their dogs. Especially since these are puppies, to my knowledge, and striking defenseless babies is a step too far for a lot of peopleThis is an idea I've brought up a couple times, but it was pretty vehemently disliked due to the fact you'd have to fight a regular dog. There does exist a RoboPup option in Nintendogs + Cats, but picking the only option in a pet simulator that isn't a real pet seems kinda odd, and it doesn't help that it's only appeared in 1 game, and requires unlocking before you can get one. I'd be down for it if that's what they went with though.
But you can turn around and go the path you came from forward too.
At least the games has enough content in Smash such as the Assist Trophy and Stage.Yeah, the whole point of Nintendogs is that it's a virtual pet game. Also Electroplankton and Pictochat. It’s not the only series that has a stage but not a character since that’s the case with Animal Crossing in Brawl. Also Balloon Fight.
Somehow I read as due to Geneva Conventions and was like "when the **** did these dogs get caught up in war" lol.To be fair, due to genre conventions, a puppy could defend itself if they made it a playable character because otherwise you wouldn't be able to play the game.
I’d also like Galacta Knight I forgot him.Super Mario: Koopa Troopa, Birdo, King Boo, Mallow
The Legend Of Zelda: Toy Link (Links Awakening Remake Link)
Pokémon: Deoxys, Plusle and Minun (I still want to see what they would have been in Brawl)
Ice Climber: The Polar Bear
Fire Emblem: Caeda (Or just a generic Pegasus Knight)
Wario: Pyoro
Animal Crossing: Blanca
Street Fighter: Akuma (If he was a semi clone of Ryu and a secret character with a stupid unlock requirement that would be cool)
Final Fantasy: Onion Knight, Chocobo
New Series:
Doom: Cacodemon
Monster Hunter: Felyne
Why are you making pot shots? I brought up the subject myself, it’s not like I came across a discussion and said I wanted to crush puppies; that’s actually sociopathic. It never ceases to amaze me how there's always gotta be at least one person that advocates for violence against realistic puppies whenever Nintendogs is brought up.
Ultimate rebranded them, so I imagine the tag would stay for the next installment. I wouldn’t be surprised if we got new ones too. What is your opinion on clones and echo fighters? What direction do you want to go to going forward with Smash 6?
Do you think the direction of echo fighters has de-valued and lessen the depth of clones from how they were from Melee/Brawl?

Well, AFAIK people seemed to hate clones until they got rebranded as Echoes, so I guess I could see them staying for the next game. What is your opinion on clones and echo fighters? What direction do you want to go to going forward with Smash 6?

I mean, go right ahead; I just took it from Google lol.I'm saving this image
I think people put too much stock in the phrase Echo Fighters and got their expectations way too highWhat is your opinion on clones and echo fighters? What direction do you want to go to going forward with Smash 6?
can it have a costume of Nate Adams and Jibanyan?Perhaps a Mii Fighter would be better. Make a Mii Petowner variant that acts as a puppet and/or trap character where they give their pet commands or play with them using toys, or something. This would actually make the animal abuse angle worse, so I would make it so at worst the character's opponents could scare the animal rather than actually hitting them.
I think a character's moveset should either be entirely unique, or they should be classified as Echoes. What is your opinion on clones and echo fighters? What direction do you want to go to going forward with Smash 6?
For sure. Echoes should still have SOME differences. No more Daisy or Richter-like Echoes. If there are any new Echoes for the next game, I'm hoping they'll take notes from Ken. Like I said before, they should be similar to the other character(s), but with their own unique quirks and attacks.
I find Daisy especially offensive because Peach already had a bunch of alternate moves from Smash 4 they could have given her.I'd obviously prefer more in depth clones, but Richter and Daisy level clones don't offend me.
I was actually going to suggest a Mii or generic human character as well. Make the Nintendogs completely invincible with the Mii/human being the one that gets hit and KO'd. Like a reverse Pokemon Trainer.Thinking about it more, I kind of wonder if the Nintendogs are actually a bad pick for representing their series anyway. Like, the series is all about how caring for your pets, so how do you get that across with just the pet? Duck Hunt has a 4th wall shooter to reference light guns sure, but having a 4th wall pet owner seems much less effective at conveying the idea of the game, especially when compared to someone like Rosalina & Luma, who have a similar dynamic going on.

Except we have nothing to show for it.We're regularly reaching 100ish guests daily and SmashBoards periodically crashes and gives me the Bad 502 treatment
We're so back
At least we have CrashBoards.Except we have nothing to show for it.![]()
I like Echo Fighters but they should have more differences. Doesn’t need to be drastic but it should at least give a reason to use them outside of design. What is your opinion on clones and echo fighters? What direction do you want to go to going forward with Smash 6?
