reading all of this happen in a matter of minutes from my perspective makes it seem like it's some kind of joke

op talks about some way to promote melee and immediately mahone loses his entire livelihood, drive to play melee and confidence in himself

For some odd reason I think he's trolling... just seems unrealistic... no one would be stupid enough to go in debt $300, and I doubt that many people play smash in his school

Shroomed is why I play Doc, KirbyKaze is why I play sheik, and I stay for the love of the game, wahts post count have to do with this :p

I am rather disturbed by how many people believe Mahone's story.

The writing is genius, though, props to that.

Having trouble seeing how you lost a single match mahone (if you're not BS'ing)
Honestly how could it be possible given what you've said about being familiar with melee.

Maybe I shouldn't believe it but the writing style is so realistic!

LMFAO at ppl believing this, it's clearly a joke, no one would lose $250 within 30 minutes playing smash

Plus who wouldn't warm up/know they have a bad controller with that plan in mind

It was down to game 3 last hit (my jiggs vs his pichu on pokemon stadium) and he knocked me up in the air. He used thunder and it caught me by surprise and I died off the top... but while i was dying he paused and started laughing with all his friends. I called him out on the pausing rule because i don't give a **** and I play to win. He was pretty angry about that and afterwards him and his friends left, which is why I am here now, typing this up.

I am really worried because i didn't really have $240 to lose, as that was part of my rent money for next month. I will continue doing this however, as i don't see another way to recuperate the money, so I'll provide updates on how it goes.

This is tragic.... if you ever want to talk about anything I will happily talk to you.

I feel part of your last post may have been right though... probably taking a bit of time off until you get your controller fixed would be for the best?

I find it ironic how you want to encourage people to play melee yet you do this sort of thing. This is exactly how to repel people from melee. Please don't do this. You should have told him: there is a pausing rule but since I want to encourage people to play this amazing game and have fun I will allow such a silly occurrence to slide.

That's the whole point of new players, they are just fish in the water to sharks like me... i could care less if he never played again because of that experience....

I'm pretty sure this whole experience got like 5 new people into competitive smash, which is probably more than you've ever done for the smash community in your life so shut the **** up...

Please let me know if i'm wrong, i'd love to hear it, but be warned... I rarely am.

Who cares about how cool you think you are and how much you achieved. Thats still not an excuse to be a douche to new players because that defeats the whole purpose of what you are doing. Enjoy being a douche I guess.

Sadly i moved to Delaware and my controller still isn't great, i sometimes miss sheilddrops when doing them to the right which makes it basically impossible for me to play like i want to.... if i do play i just get frustrated so i just stick to less technical characters and not entering, but i haven't played smash in at least a month so it doesn't really matter.

Of course its an excuse. What are you in middle school kid? Its called Utilitarianism dude, at the end of the day my net effect on the smash community was positive.

If anything, i suffered greatly just to help the smash community. I lost a ridiculous amount of money...

Also i reread some posts in this thread and people think this was a joke, but they clearly just don't know me in real life, this really did happen and i wish i was joking. Now that I'm not so close to it and just looking back i can see the humor in it, but i don't see how i was being a **** at all.
