I am currently in the process of recapping all information in the Nintendo Direct. I will make a post later detailing everything found. If you can, please acknowledge this and try not to make any topics or posts like that. I won't blame you if you beat me to it though. Also, if anyone wants to forward it to someone like @ Venus of the Desert Bloom for journalistic purposes, please let me know.

I'm gonna update my Official List of Confirmed stuff too, but this is a lot of information.

And it's midnight here. I'm tired. I'll re-watch the Direct tomorrow and start looking at the information with more detail.

No transforming characters is kind of bittersweet, but hey, Sheik and ZSS are back, so I can't complain.

(Looks like @Diddy Kong was right on the Phantom all along. Huh, cheeky monkey. )

I am a little disappointed. We got one newcomer, and it was a Pokemon, on top of three other Pokemon veterans, plus the likely Jigglypuff. That's six.
Although I love Pokemon, I would've enjoyed a better reveal, even if it could only be one. Palutena would be my choice. She's who my name is based off of (PaLuTEna).

At least we'll get a heap of reviews in these upcoming weeks preparing for its release in summer.

I'm really annoyed that the 3DS version is coming out first. Could kill the Wii U. Also, in the original pic of the Find Mii stage there was no Mii in the cage. Now there is... possibly a Alfonzo type situation 'when you play as Mii the cage is empty...?

This game could be something so, so, so much more with workshop. This is just lame compared to hacked brawl. Something that is new and amazing is HD/3D and that's it. Midna deconfirmed and I've already been playing with a perfectly hacked Midna for months and I will keep doing that, have fun with your wii fir trainers, animal crossings and superboxers.
At least Sakurai made Kid Icarus... it does make up for the waste of potential in Smash Bros.

I lost my two mains from Melee, then lost my main from Brawl. . . Well kind of, Charizard is stand alone now. I personally like Charizard the best but I'll frickin' miss Squirtle and Ivysaur.

That Mario vs Charizard scene was pretty sweet.

The info was solid, but the characters did nothing for me. Yoshi's cool because the game just feels more complete with him, and I like Greninja but never felt like he should be a playable character. Also, I'd personally prefer an improved Pokemon Trainer over Charizard by itself.

Plus the Ridley stuff was a bummer. Not only do I just think Ridley rocks, but we seriously need some new villains up in here. It's getting way too cheery. Ridley would've been that perfect offset.

Guys, Ridley isn't deconfirmed.

They only showed a silohette. I say Meta Ridley, who was also a boss in Brawl. Remember, Toon Link was shown on the Spirit Train stage.

I actually took the supposed confirmation of Ridley being a boss easily but this bothers me now.

Why exactly?

Well, I had convinced myself that I would be okay with any newcomer, but....Greninja? It let me down a lot, to be honest. That was really the main thing, I guess. Also, one (two if Ridley is seriously a boss) of my wanted newcomers was deconfirmed, the no transformation thing is confusing me, and to top it all off, I have an ungodly amount of schoolwork to do, which was dampening my mood even before the direct, but I saw it as a shining beacon of hope that would make everything more manageable, and then, you know the rest.

There was a lot of music. I especially liked hearing Id (Purpose), Dark Pit's theme, Multi-Man Melee 2. The remixes were awesome as hell. Time for another godly soundtrack, it seems. I wonder who will be the composers this time, although that Ballad of the Goddess remix was familiar in musical style to me. VERY familiar.
