Man, this round'll be blinder than the last.

Are we allowed to use music from Wii Sports / Sport Resort, even though they were used for 'The WiiFit Gym' round?

Yeah. Although try to stay away from tracks in the winning list.

Well crap. I don't know anything about Pilotwings...

Guess I'll give it a shot though. My entry is probably going to be one of the very last ones.

HERE'S MY POST

Music: Light Plane
Origin: Pilotwings
Why: I think this might be iconic? maybe... I don't know. sounds like old sonic so I like it, lol.

Music: Opening Theme/Choose Aircraft/Flight Club
Origin: Pilotwings
Why: all the menu music. um, I don't know why actually. would probably sound sweet tho. also adds more variety then if i just put the pilotwings 64 opening or somthing.

Music Skydiving
Origin: Pilotwings 64
Why: I think it's an interesting tune and it could fit in smash with a lil work.

Music: Jungle Hopper
Origin: Pilotwings 64
Wht: dunno. sounds jammin!

Music: Main Theme
Origin: Pilotwings Resort
Why: gotta have music from the more recent pilotwings, even if it WAS on the 3ds.

Music: Wuhu Island
From: MK7 (not mortal kombat, silly. mario kart!)
Why: Part of the stage IS Wuhu island. and I feel this variation of the tune is more fitting for smash.

Music: Dogfight Results
From: Wii Sports Resort
Why: I think it's a remix of a pilotwings song.

Music: Nintendo Eshop
From: Nintendo Eshop (Wii U)
Why: Forgot to put this on the wii fit page. here will have to do. also think it kinda fits the stage.

That seemed oddly fast to me. Here's my list!
EDIT: After thinking it over, I decided to add a Pilotwings Resort song.

Name: Pilotwings SNES Medley
Universe: Pilotwings
Game: Pilotwings (1991)
Links:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zvyjVjfFYKI (Opening)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ON445uaHDAI (Skydiving)
Reason: I think this would sound really cool orchestrated. You got that grand opening to kick off the song, then it goes into the Skydiving medley, which fits the atmosphere of flying around.

Name: Rocketbelt
Universe: Pilotwings
Game: Pilotwings (1991)
Link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p4VhE0W9Bms
Reason: I thought it would be good to have two tracks from Pilotwings SNES, and also I think it would be cool to recreate this with the effects from Wii Music.

Name: Mission Select (Pilotwings 64)
Universe: Pilotwings
Game: Pilotwings 64 (1996)
Link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WV_0d4KfpK0
Reason: Just wanted to have a song from Pilotwings 64 and thought that this one was pretty cool.

Name: Hang Glider
Universe: Pilotwings
Game: Pilotwings 64 (1996)
Link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q9Pga-y7F8k
Reason: After all the upbeat jazz music, I thought a nice, relaxing piece would fit well. Can you imagine this with today's video game music quality? It would be awesome and I think it fits the idea of flying through the islands perfectly!

Name: Main Theme
Universe: Pilotwings
Game: Pilotwings Resort (2011)
Link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E_iP8JcaX38
Reason: There should be a song to represent the newest installment in the series.

Name: Wii Sports Resort
Universe: Wii Sports
Game: Wii Sports Resort (2009)
Link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YyVEO0Q1WKE
Reason: Alright, I know I put this on my list for the Wii Fit gym, but nearly every judge said it would fit better here since you actually go to Wuhu Island on this stage, so I'm putting it here. I was originally going to put Wuhu Island from Mario Kart 7 since it's the same song just remixed, but I decided against it because 1) It's from Mario Kart, 2) It's a handheld game, 3) It isn't the original song. Hopefully I don't get docked points for this.

Name: Nintendo Cruising Medley
Universes: Super Mario, Pokemon, Kirby, Mother, Pilotwings
Games: Super Mario Bros. 3 (1990), Pokemon Red & Blue (1998), Kirby Super Star (1996), EarthBound (1995), and Pilotwings (1991)
Links:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AMtgwyJ55sQ (Super Mario Bros. 3 Sky Theme)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=523o7nJ5DgM (Pokemon Red & Blue Surf Theme)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=80wM_F4SdRU (Bubbly Clouds from Kirby Super Star)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w2Bsl7P6h0c (Sky Runner from EarthBound)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S-kaMB4Wjpg (Pilotwings Medal from Pilotwings)
Reason/Explanation: In the follow up to my Nintendo Training Medley, this is my Nintendo Cruising Medley. I picked songs that were either about cruising through the sky or on the water and represented some big/iconic moments from Nintendo games. We start out with the secret sky area theme from SMB3, then after 30 seconds of that it switches to the Surf theme from Pokemon Red & Blue. At around 28 seconds, Surf becomes Bubbly Clouds (but we start Bubbly Clouds at the 8 second mark.) At the 43 second mark, we go into the Sky Runner song from EarthBound, which plays until the 50 minute mark, then we get Pilotwings Medal to cap it off and start over again.

Well, that's my entry! Hope that Cruising Medley goes over well!

Yes!

Pilotwings - Light Plane ~ Skydiving
Pilotwings Resort - Hang Glider
Pilotwings Resort - Super Rocket Belt
Wii Sports Resort - Opening Theme
Wii Party - Main Menu
Wii Photo Channel - Slideshow (Bright)
Wave Race 64 - Sunset Bay
Endless Ocean: Blue World - Nineball Island ~ Day
Startropics - Test of Island Courage

"Light Plane" and "Skydiving" are two of the more memorable tracks from the original Pilotwings. I imagine a combination of the two in their original form like "The Map Page / Bonus Level" in Brawl. "Hang Glider" is a nice, relaxing song that can serve as a good change of pace. "Opening Theme" from Wii Sports Resort ties in the WuHu Island element of the stage. "Main Menu" is one of the best songs from the Wii generation... Seriously. A great fit for this stage. "Sunset Bay", "Nineball Island" and "Test of Island Courage" are my oddball choices, but they work since none of the games have had a track in the game.

Song: Light Plane
Source: Pilotwings (SNES, 1991)
Reason: One of the most memorable songs from the original game. Plus, in the stage, a plane is the main platform.

Song: Main Theme
Source: Wii Sports Resort (Wii, 2009)
Reason: The very anthem of Wuhu Island itself, appearing in Wii Sports Resort and Mario Kart 7. Its adventurous mood is perfect for soaring over scenic tropical landscapes.

Song: Rocketbelt
Source: Pilotwings (SNES, 1991)
Reason: Besides being my favorite track from the original game, it's one of the more easily fought-to tunes to pick from. Also, "Blaaah, blahblah blaah, blahblahblahblah blaaaah".

Song: Gyrocopter
Source: Pilotwings 64 (Nintendo 64, 1996)
Reason: A more intense track for the occasional serious fight. Has a nice progression that'd likely synch up well with a moving stage like this.

Song: Squirrel Time
Source: Pilotwings Resort (3DS, 2011)
Reason: One of the more beloved tracks for the game. Adds another "intense" track. Considering how much Resort hyped up the squirrel suit, I think this is a good track to represent the game with, even if you actually didn't hear it much while playing.

Song: Sunset Bay
Source: Wave Race 64 (Nintendo 64, 1996)
Reason: Glad someone else agrees that this is a perfect track to include. A popular track from a series closely associated with the Wuhu Island "saga" nowadays. The jazzy, water-sports vibe of the track goes well with the setting of the stage.

Song: Main Menu
Source: Wii Party (Wii, 2010)
Reason: Fitting, relatively popular. Not much else to say.

Song: World A1
Source: Kururin Squash (GameCube, 2004)
Reason: A game where you fly around in a crazy vehicle and try to beat time records? Sounds like a perfect fit for a Pilotwings stage to me. This track also has a very tropical feel to it, giving it an aesthetic that makes it well-suited on this stage.

Dude, I seriously think you might take this round. I'm really digging the Wii Party Menu Theme, love that you put a Wave Race 64 song, and I think you got great variety. Even if you don't win, I could see you taking 2nd. (Watch this turn out to be a jinx.)

So much yes! Even though it's cool to hate casual games and Miis nowadays, I LOVE the Wii/Mii series and its amazing, breathtaking music! There's also a few tracks from other games that deserve a place on this kind of flying stage...and since I missed the Skyloft part of the contest and couldn't squeeze Sky Sanctuary Modern in there...

Wii Sports Resort - Main Theme
This theme is the most memorable thing I can associate with the Pilotwings stage because Wii Sports Resort was a GREAT game, it took everything that made Wii Sports good and multiplied it 10X. Even the Main Theme proves that, since it's a much happier and explosive remix of that same song. I chose this over the MK7 variant solely because the Intro on this one is full of life, while the MK7 one is more laid-back, not as good for fighting your friends in colorful Nintendo worlds.

Pilotwings 64 - Jungle Hopper
I never really played Pilotwings 64 but this theme somehow rubs me the RIGHT way! It sounds like Athletic Mario music and DKC music fused together.

Pilotwings Resort - Main Theme
I cannot stress how much I love funky music on a violent game, takes me back to the earlier GTAs where you could just dance all night along to the Main Theme, and there's also a point where it starts to sound really tropical, which is kinda the point of the song because it HAS the word Resort in the title. I dunno, it just feels right to Smash with this playing in the BG.

Pilotwings - Medley: Choose Aircraft - Light Plane - Jetpack
What can I say? Really nostalgic and iconic themes mashed together into a single song, preferably fairly long with a kind of Classic Rock orchestration and PLEASE...with an acapella-like choir singing BLAH-BLA-BLA-BLAH on the Jetpack bit!

Wii Party - Main Menu
At first I considered leaving this for a possible Mii Streetpass Plaza stage, but hearing it a few times again...it starts to sound more...pictoresque? Like traveling over a beautiful island with seagulls flying by your side? So it does fit perfectly with such a beautiful and pictoresque stage as you're flying over a tropical island full of tourists and sport facilities!

Sonic Unleashed - Tornado Defense Act 1
It may seem strange..but for people who actually played this version of Sonic Unleashed, I won't really need to explain myself because it just fits so perfectly with this stage and the way it seems to move around the island. One of the planes even looks very similar to the Tornado! I think this song captures the feeling of flying better than anything, it's cheerful and laid-back, and makes you think of only one thing: Sonic riding on top of the Tornado's wings with Tails driving it...the Yellow Fox could even make a cameo on this stage at some point, maybe flying on the background?

Wave Race 64 - Sunset Bay
As the name implies, it would be perfect for a sunset fight, especially the chime-like bits...I like this track because it reminds me of the BW anime opening in my language~! I know, random, but it's far too good and too iconic to let it slip, and it's SCREAMING for a classic-rock/fast-ballad sounding remake!

Pokemon Series - Surf Medley: Red/Blue - Ruby/Shappire/Emerald - Black/White - X/Y
OK, this here's a great collection of the songs that will forever be engraved into our minds as the anthems of endless Tentacools and Magikarps and other useless water Pokemon that appear once our 115th Repel wears out! No, seriously, the Pokemon surfing themes are probably the most nostalgic part of the games because they're usually mellow. The medley would start with Red/Blue as the plane takes off, the first few seconds being 8-Bits before turning into full, soothing skylike orchestra as the plane rises, reaching the 0:26 mark before seamlessly turning into the RSE (With slightly faster tempo to make the transition as seamless as possible) waltz-like theme as the plane flies over the seas, the song going on until it starts to transition into BW's more upbeat theme with the plane going through the commercial/touristic part of Wuhu Island, the medley going on until its time to go to the first zone again, BW's surf theme slowing down gradually until it reaches XY, the XY grand waltz song ending with a sad, nostalgic bang before the song loops...MAJESTIC!

I didn't give times for the last three because I want it to kinda match where the stage is at the moment, so I would have to know the exact time the plane takes to reach those areas! And this is an idea I had to go with the music, maybe depending on the chosen song, the stage could have slight easter eggs to fit it a little more, like Tails flying besides the plane with Tornado Defense Act 1, or maybe a few Pelipeers and Wingulls flying besides the plane, water Pokemon visible in the ocean below with the Surf Medley. It'd be like a slightly less-drastic version of PSASBR's crossover stages, which is one of the things they did VERY right.

Okay, let's get some high-flying tunes to battle to!

Name: Flight Club / Light Plane
Universe: Pilotwings
Origin: Pilotwings (1991)
Reason: As others have stated, Light Plane is one of the most memorable tracks from the original game and is probably shoe-in for the stage. However, I am going to switch it up and start off with Flight Club before going into the main song. I like how it evokes the feeling of an airport (in a good way), which makes a nice lead-in to the plane theme.
Name: Gyrocopter
Universe: Pilotwings
Origin: Pilotwings 64 (1996)
Reason: I don't care if the bass in this theme is almost too intense for the stage. It is the song people remember from Pilotwings 64 and definitely deserves a spot. Also, it is absolutely amazing for such a minimalist track.
Name: Jumble Hopper
Universe: Pilotwings
Origin: Pilotwings 64 (1996)
Reason: Fun and flighty is exactly what you want from a Pilotwings song and this lackadaisical tune fits the bill perfectly. Light and breezy, but still uptempo enough to fight to. Also, I know the track says "Jungle Hopper". Ignore it; Jumble Hopper is the right name.
Name: Squirrel Time
Universe: Pilotwings
Origin: Pilotwings Resort (2011)
Reason: Another intense track to fight to. The Squirrel suit was well-loved in the new Pilotwings and so was the theme, even if you only got to to hear it for one mission.
Name: Wuhu Island
Universe: Mario Kart
Origin: Mario Kart 7 (2012)
Reason: Since Wuhu Island is a major part of the stage. Technically this theme has been used in other games (like Wii Sports Resort), but I like the Mario Kart rendition of it. Very funky and fresh! Thanks to Legend of Rob for the idea I stole coming up with the same idea as me.
Name: Up N' Down
Universe: Stunt Race FX
Origin: Stunt Race FX (1994)
Reason: Get it? Cause in a plane you go up...and...ahem. Anyway, this is a fun and memorable track from the fun (but not quite so memorable) SNES game Stunt Race FX. It may have been about car racing, but this song fits just as well up in the sky.
Name: Southern Island
Universe: Wave Race
Origin: Wave Race 64 (1996)
Reason: And here I thought I was going to be all clever including a Wave Race track. At least I'm not choosing Sunset Bay (even though that is an awesome song)! That's worth something, right? I love the 80's sounding opening riff into the sweet guitar of this song.
Name: Birdman
Universe: Pilotwings
Origin: Pilotwings 64 (1996)
Reason: Aw yeah. Here's the other Pilotwings 64 song everyone remembers. It is a slower song, but this stage almost calls for a slower, more relaxed tune. I'd like to see it updated with some jazzy saxophone. Keep it mellow and kinda sexy. Yeah, I said it.
Also, a quick runner-up is Blood Edward Island from Trace Memory. It almost made the list, but was cut for being too repetitive. I just wanted to mention it because...Trace Memory, right? Who would have expected that one?

Man, I knew Kid Icarus shared elements with Metroid and Star Fox, but not Pilotwings. You learn somethin' new everyday!

I'll be posting something soon.

1. MELODY
Main Theme
Plane
Rocket Belt
Hang Glider
(all from Pilotwings Resort)
I could just include all of these tracks separately, but that would leave me little room for other tracks that I wanted to include. I'll elaborate at the end.
2. Wuhu Loop (Mario Kart 7)
This is a remix of the Wii Sports Resort Menu Theme.
3. Opening Theme (Wii Sports) (Wii Sports/Super Smash Bros. Brawl)
There isn't a remix here, so I kinda consider this Wii Sports music. Brawl just made it convenient for me to include this song. That and I included this track because of Wii Sports Resort.
4. Balloon Trip (Balloon Fight/WarioWare: Smooth Moves)
I am using the Smooth Moves version as it is better for what I am going with. It sounds peaceful and I can imagine that this stage will feel that way in SSB4.
5. Main Title (Wave Race 64)
I had to include some Wave Race song! I just had to! When I see this stage, I can't help but think about it... I guess it's because of the water.
6. Nintendo Land: Main Theme (Nintendo Land)
Mostly because of Miis made me include this song.
7. Mii Channel (Wii)
Again, because of Miis. I was torn between this and the eShop theme... but I found this to be more fitting.
8. Daytime Theme (Captain Rainbow)
Ah yes. If you see me nominating this guy in RTC, then you must know that I wish I could play this game. But, anyways, I think this obscure track is rather perfect in the motif of flying in a plane over the skies of this tropical island. This track will probably break me and make me lose, but I just couldn't resist!

The way I see this stage working out is you starting off at the Pilotwings island and then go all the way to Wuhu Island where you will spend a majority of your time fighting there. I was opposed to having the Pilotwings tracks be separate since I feel as though this stage will be some sort of PictoChat where it will have many tracks from other games. So... that's why I made a melody rather have those four tracks being separate. I wanted to spice up some variety.

Here's my list, there's not many songs on here but I made sure I put some good songs on here
1. Wii Sports Resort - Main Theme
This is pretty much the theme that represents Wuhu Island, I wouldn't mind if they remixed it, but the original is good enough.
2. Pilotwings Resort - Main Theme
This song would fit well because of how Pilotwings Resort takes place in Wuhu Island.
3. Pilotwings - Light Plane/Rocketbelt
I have a feeling that there will be a Pilotwings medley of some sort included, So why not take two of the most memorable songs and put them together?
It could be nice if they remixed it too, but keeping the "bwah bwah bwah" part in the Rocketbelt song.
4. Pilotwings Resort - Hang Glider
I know this is a fighting game, but this theme is fitting for a stage that soars across a vacation resort.
5. Pilotwings 64 - Gyrocopter
I'll be honest, the music for Pilotwings 64 doesn't stand out for me as much as the other two games. This song however is really great and would fit the
fighting scene really well.
6. Pilotwings Resort - Super Rocket Belt
I don't know what I'll do if this song doesn't make it in. This is by far my favorite song in the Pilotwings franchise. I don't really have much to say about
it, it's that good.

Link: http://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLX7WFiI5SvNx1eooFMUcRwzd7BZXuaLTv
Reason: I really thought Pilotwings could use some variety in there so the best way to get variety is to mash 10 different songs together from the ten original series in Smash 64.
It starts off with "The Sky" a great intro song. It then moves on to the ever-so peaceful "In the Clouds" Yoshi music. We then go into the groovy, and odd "Chimpanzee Clouds" song from Donkey Kong Land. Then to make things even more strange we head to "Pink Cloud Shrine" from Earthbound. To reset the mood to an epic slow song we head off to one from Starfox Adventures "Cloudrunner Fortress Spiral Pathway". Ah... even slower we get to "Skytown" from the Metroid series. Okay we can finally get away from the slow songs with a song from Kirby's Air Ride: "Sky Sands". Speed has now entered straight from F-Zero "Cloud Carpet". Now for one of my favorite Pokemon Songs "Mistralton City" the home of the flying type pilot gym leader, Skyla. "World 7" from Mario ends this nice little melody, a slow, peaceful, and happy tune from the clouds.

Reason: This is a great theme for an extremely popular wii title. It is popular, fitting, and fun.

I need to know why groose gave me a 8 in fit. other than that, I'm really happy with my results.
Firstly, I wasn't giving anyone a perfect fit unless they had two selections from the Forces of Nature section of Uprising. It's about 20% of the game, and I felt like two music tracks would be necessary for perfect fit (unless if you had a very, very, fitting and surprising track). Looking back now, I remember you were a borderline 8/9 in fit in my eyes; I opted for the lower score.

You're my boy, Groose!
When you submit a list that isn't to my liking... I won't be. :p

Congrats to you, Brawler, for barely dethroning my music champion streak! Between my two wins and last round's winner getting some help from me, I was worried if there really weren't any other contenders! Dohohoho!

It's funny, I was worried before that losing would have made me feel upset, but I feel quite the opposite. I'm proud of you. Do just as well in future rounds, budd!
I honestly thought you were going to win this one. You hit one of my peeves, but it was a very solid entry otherwise. With just a slight change, I would have handed you out the perfect score.

Now that I have my list for pilotwings (for if it is chosen) I feel uneasy about it... But I feel pretty goo about today :D I did okay and I have taken in all of your suggestions. None of you liked Viridi, Goddess of Nature an you had conflicting ideas about Boss Theme 2 and Palutena's Temple. But at leas I have risen up from last :D
As I said earlier, your own lack of Kid Icarus knowledge doomed you in this round. There are 25+ boss fights in Uprising... and only two of them feature Boss Battle 2. It's a sacred theme reserved for the most dramatic of moments... and it just doesn't work here. Palutena's Temple has a similar concept behind it, but I thought it worked pretty well.

I'm sure you'll bounce back when we hit Pilotwings. I'm also expecting big things of you when we have a Pokemon stage revealed...

Me have one of the worst scores... on the only thing I'm actually potent with?
That's it, I'm finished (as in not doing another one of these again)!
I loved your penchant for experimentation. Viridi's Home Menu was the most unique and memorable song in this entire round.

But I have to honor the rules above all when I'm judging. And the rules say that I have to rate you in variety and raw popularity. You have to admit that you left out the most popular tracks and focused more on Viridi. While I did like to see this, you went a bit overboard. You have to include the big hitters somewhere, and there just weren't enough on Reset Bomb Forest.

If we get another KI stage reveal, I want you back here. Learn from your mistakes and your "I'm Finished!"'s and bounce back.

Well, that's that. I generally agree with most of what was said about my list; I'm not particularly familiar with KI, so I'm sure that negatively impacted the quality of my list.

When we get to arena Ferox, though...YOU'LL SEE, YOU'LL ALL SEE!

:troll:
After I submitted my grades, I wanted to boost your variety score by one or two points. I feel like there is more variety in your list than what I initially saw. But it still wasn't great in that aspect. My pet peeves are using a standalone track as the core song of an additional medley and the incorporation of multiple remixes of the same song... and you just hit both of them this time.

I can't wait for your Ferox list. We'll get there... in due time.

2nd to last place... poop. Well, I think I'll do better next time!
It was that one track that got you in my eyes. It was calm and gentle... on a stage with a megaton bomb and a rather dramatic change in scenery. I just couldn't handle it. You also had two "out of series" tracks... I felt like that was a tad excessive. KI, while not having the depth of Mario or Zelda, has a pretty impressive tracklist. Having two out of series tracks just hurt your importance a little too much. One would have been fine, however.

I'll never be perfect
But in all, uh, seriousness, I would like to congratulate Brawler610 for taking the cake. Tying 2nd place is pretty good for me so far.
By the by, I managed to track down a copy of Kid Icarus: Uprising in store, and trekked out to buy it. It's gooooooooood.
Btw, did anyone expect the writing to be hilrious and constantly breaking the 4th wall?
The writing in that game is absurdly good, as was your tracklist. I mentioned in my review score why I didn't give you the perfect score; I really wanted that second nature arc song. I nearly docked a point in fit, too, but War's End jumped out at me and fit really, really well.

Fifth place. Talk about a major fall compared to last round. I honestly didn't know Thunder Cloud Temple was so popular until I saw everyone putting it on their lists. Eh, props to Brawler for taking the win and hope things work out for Tumblr! BTW, could I sign on as a backup judge in case one of the main judges can't contribute? I do music quizzes for Sporcle.com!
If one of our judges ever has to resign, I'll push for your inclusion as the replacement. Until then... can't really say anything more.

And as for Thunder Cloud Temple... behind only Dark Pit and Magnus when it comes to popularity; it also has the added benefit of fitting with the stage.

My main problem was I didn't want to go overkill with the Uprising themes, so I wanted some variety. Looking back, I'd remove the Panel de Pon theme immediately and sub in Lightning Battle instead, which seems like a better fit. Also, I'd like to point out that this next one won't be too strong, as I haven't played Pilotwings before. So, I'm going to look towards YouTube's OST lists for inspiration.

DP and Magnus themes are too overrated to me. Those 2 themes would fit better in an Underworld-themed stage. And I don't do research on the other 2 KI games, so don't blame me. You won't see me doing another one of these again unless another KI stage appears... or something else secretive that I like that few know me to like. I still understand the rules, but I'm still disappointed in my failures.

Prepare to be dissapointed :troll:

But seriously, FE is probably the only FE series that I know well enough to do a list for, at least as far as currently confirmed stages go.

Edit: I should probably ask, is there an upper limit on the number of songs you can include in a medley?

I disagree when it comes to Magnus's theme. I think it fits very nicely in the current Kid Icarus stage, but I can understand what you mean with Dark Pit's theme.

Sweet, thanks! Guess I need to spend more time in the Uprising fandom then. It's a cool song, and it's got that Sakuraba guitar to it, but I didn't think it was memorable or iconic to the game/franchise, but that might be because I really don't like Viridi and the Forces of Nature so there could be some bias there. :p

[collapse="Project Flying License"]1) Select your Aircraft (Medley) ~ Pilotwings
Song Choice: Choose Aircraft / Light Plane / Rocket Belt / Hang Glider / Skydiving / Great Landing
• Every stage generally has a Smash Original song that is a remix of a song from the franchise the stage takes place in. This is my choice for the remixed song.
• Starts off with the Choose Aircraft theme and then gradually changes to Light Plane, followed by Rocket Belt, then by Hang Glider, and finally by Skydiving. Once the song is about to repeat, the Great Landing tune will play. Which will let the song repeat (kinda like how it works for Mother).
The Plane, Rocket Belt, and Hang Glider are standard aircrafts in the Pilotwings franchise. Skydiving has also been present in each game as well. The tunes used for these four appearing on the stage somehow is a no brainer, so I figured they would make a nice medley together.
2) Helicopter ~ Pilotwings
• The Helicopter is one of the unique aircrafts that is exclusive to the original Pilotwings (unless you consider the Gyrocopter from 64 to be a Helicopter...).
• The overall tone of the song is a bit more serious, which is something unique coming from a game mostly about leisurely doing tasks. The whole song has a neat Mario 3 airship vibe with it too.
• Might be better off being remixed, but I think this would fit in pretty well as is.
3) Birdman ~ Pilotwings 64
• This song is the most relaxing tune that you'll find my list. It really helps you take in the scenery while you're flying on the planes while around the ocean and Wuhu Island.
4) Super Rocket Belt ~ Pilotwings Resort
• A personal favorite of mine. I remember flying around Wuhu Island, wanting to get a closer look at all of the neat details hidden on the island. With the Super Rocket Belt's simple interface and absurd amount of fuel, I found it to be my most used aircraft.
• This song is used all over Pilotwings Resort, but this variation in particular is more upbeat and jazzier in comparison to other mixes in the track. Which is a nice contrast to other songs used for the stage.
5) Main Theme (Wii Sports Resort) ~ Wii Sports Resort
• Now this stage isn't just a Pilotwings stage, it's also the stage representing Wii Sports Resort (Or moreso, just the Miis in general).
• This song has become somewhat iconic in itself, as Wuhu Island has become quite the hotspot (Being in games such as Wii Sports Resort, Wii Fit, Mario Kart 7, and Pilotwings Resort).
6) Main Menu (Wii Party) ~ Wii Party
• As I mentioned, this stage is also a stage for Miis. So another song from the Wii Franchise wouldn't hurt.
• This song in particular gives off a somewhat explorational vibe. I'm not sure what it is, but I feel as if this song would be playing a relaxing day on the beach. Considering that this entire stage majorly takes place over the sea, it seemed like a nice fit.
7) Stage 1 / 2 / 3 (Face Raiders) ~ Face Raiders
• Please tell me that I'm not the only person that actually really enjoyed this little gem's soundtrack? This song really helps stir up the general relaxing motif this stage has, along with Super Rocket Belt.
• This isn't necessarily a melody. As the time goes on, more instruments are added to the song.
• Face Raiders came packed with the 3DS, so every 3DS owner must have messed with it somehow. Pilotwings Resort was on the 3DS, so I saw no issues with adding in one handheld song to the stage. I think it fits in kinda nicely, but it could probably be mixed a bit to make sure it fits in just right.
8) Strongwater Keep (Sunny) ~ Wave Race Blue Storm
• We had a 1080° Snowboarding song in Brawl, so why not have some Wave Race in Smash for Wii U?
• While many may have gone to Wave Race 64 for a song, I feel like Blue Storm's soundtrack had something more unique to offer. I think it adds a foreign flavor to the mix, which I think really adds to the song selection overall.[/collapse]
Welp, there you go. Can't say I was really excited to find out that Pilotwings / Wuhu Island was the next stage that was going to be picked, I was really hoping for Windy Hill Zone.

But yeah, this'll be fun. Can't wait to see these lists graded!

1. Name: Main Theme
Universe: Pilotwings
Game of Origin: Pilotwings Resort
www.youtube.com/watch?v=E_iP8JcaX38

Reason: Even though it's a 3DS title and this is a Wii U stage, it's the most recent game in the series and elements from this game (like Wuhu Island) are already confirmed. So why not give the awesome Main Theme a chance to shine?

2. Name: Skydiving
Universe: Pilotwings
Game of Origin: Pilotwings
www.youtube.com/watch?v=ON445uaHDAI

Reason: Sounds like one of the iconic themes of the original game. Plus it's pretty awesome.

3. Name: Rocketbelt
Universe: Pilotwings
Game of Origin: Pilotwings 64
www.youtube.com/watch?v=3i5V_33XYo0

Reason: The important thing about Pilotwings is the various veichles you can fly around in, right? So I figure that each of the main three veichles so get a music rep. So here's the Rocketbelt and it has an added bonus of repping Pilotwings 64!

4. Name: Main Theme
Universe: Wii Sports
Game of Origin: Wii Sports Resort
www.youtube.com/watch?v=0eEWxzW2wJU

Reason: Well, this particular track selection is PERSONAL. Groose, old buddy, remember what you told me back during Round 4?

Groose said:
Wii Sport’s theme still goes better with Pilotwings than Wii Fit...
Well, sir, you are DEAD. WRONG. THIS is the theme that should be playing on this majestic stage. Opening (Wii Sports) doesn't even hold a light to such majesty! Not to mention that it's the theme of Wuhu Island itself! So yeah, Wii Sports theme does NOT fit. Wii Sports Resort, on the other hand, does. So there...

5. Name: Light Plane
Universe: Pilotwings
Game of Origin: Pilotwings
www.youtube.com/watch?v=vqTt9j_bHPE

Reason: The next basic veichle is the plane... It IS called Pilotwings, after all. And with this track, I opted for the original as I feel it'd be the most iconic song of the game and series.

6. Name: Hang Glider
Universe: Pilotwings
Game of Origin: Pilotwings Resort
www.youtube.com/watch?v=wSHfGFSFHnA

Reason: The third and final veichle seems to be one more tied to Pilotwings Resort than the others, even though it shows up throughout the series. With that in mind, I thought this nice soothing song would be appropriate to round up the Pilotwings tracks.

Now, my original idea for a medley I had to scrap early on, as music for Nester's Funky Bowling is hard to come by. Nevertheless, I hope you enjoy this alternative instead.

7. Name: Ode to Wiifity (a medley)
Universe: Wii series
This medley contains the following tracks:

Name: Credits
Game of Origin: Wii Fit
www.youtube.com/watch?v=1yg3JPCVN_Q

Name: Main Theme
Game of Origin: Wii Play: Motion
www.youtube.com/watch?v=xLEEwjlkS6U

Name: Title (Wii Party)
Game of Origin: Wii Party
www.youtube.com/watch?v=KtC-rGTnw3U

Name: Credits Plus
Game of Origin: Wii Fit Plus
www.youtube.com/watch?v=1yg3JPCVN_Q

Name: Pilotwing Medal
Game of Origin: Pilotwings
www.youtube.com/watch?v=S-kaMB4Wjpg

Reason: So, about Wiifity... You darn Loch Ness monster!! I ain't giving you no- oh, sorry. Got kinda sidetracked there. Anyway, Wuhu Island did, in fact, originate in Wii Fit. But did you know it had a different name? It was called Wiifity Island. Thankfully, they changed it, but still... I can't give an accurate representation of Wuhu Island without paying tribute to its origins.

We start off with the credits to Wii Fit to kinda lure us in with its calm atmosphere. Plus, it's practically the only track that wouldn't be better suited for the gym. After it lures us in, we get some more bouncy and upbeat tracks to get us in the mood for battling. These tracks rep other Wii series and I picked these after browsing the tracklists for the Gym that didn't make it. Sorry for stealing your ideas, Brawler610 and FalKoopa!

After this intense rhythm, we ease down with Credits Plus, which is similar, but very distinct from the regular version. And as an added touch, I threw in the Medal theme to connect back to the beginning of the medley as it heavily ties in with Credits already and gives it a distinct sense of how far we've come. Hope you enjoy this medley...

8. Platinum Beach
Universe: Mii series
Game of Origin: Mii Force
www.youtube.com/watch?v=m3JSvUklSuI

Reason: Swampasaur told me to. :troll:

No seriously. He says Mii Force tracks would be more suited to Pilotwings, so I'm putting one on here. It's not Goldie VII, as I already used it and I don't think it's suited here. However, Platinum Beach is a VERY uplifting song and feels like you're soaring through the air when you're listening to it. Plus, it's the first level of the game, so without a doubt it's iconic to the game as well as the Mii series.
[/collapse]

There you have it.... considering I only played a tiny bit of Pilotwings Resort and none of the others, we'll see if I crash and burn.

1. Name: Rocketbelt
Universe: Pilotwings
Game of Origin: Pilotwings 64 (1996)
Link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uchvSCb46qQ
Reasoning: This tune is funky and, if sped up a bit, could really add some “atmosphere” to the stage, “blowing” everyone away! (Hooray for puns about aviation!)

2. Name: Skydiving
Universe: Pilotwings
Game of Origin: Pilotwings (1990)
Link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ON445uaHDAI
Reasoning: It’s a relaxing tune that could also be sped up and made a bit more “chaotic” for the high-flying pace of the stage.

3. Name: Plane
Universe: Pilotwings
Game of Origin: Pilotwings Resort (2011)
Link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A8CFO_Hk638
Reasoning: The trumpeting does it for me, and I believe that if a Pilotwings character was used, this’d be their victory fanfare, but yet it’s a great tune in by itself. Just listen to it, it’s very relaxing. Also, it sounds like Millennial Fair from Chrono Trigger. That’s got to be worth something, right?

4. Name: Main Theme (Pilotwings Resort)
Universe: Pilotwings
Game of Origin: Pilotwings Resort (2011)
Link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E_iP8JcaX38
Reasoning: A great tune, am I right? Listen to it, it’s just amazing to me. It’s very jazzy and fitting for the stage.

5. Name: Maka Wuhu
Universe: Mario Kart
Game of Origin: Mario Kart 7 (2011)
Link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZZHbxCL7TFQ
Reasoning: Instead of including Wii Sports Resort or Wii Sports’ iconic themes, I opted for the portly plumber’s go-karting arrangement of the iconic tune, taking place on Wuhu Island, much like this stage. I like it a bit better than the original Wii Sports, and I’ve already included the Resort theme for the Wii Fit stage.

6. Name: Bonus Balloon
Universe: Balloon Fight
Game of Origin: Balloon Fight (1986)
Link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_zhMFtEje84
Reasoning: The song matches the Pilotwings stage pretty well with a remix, and both games were release day titles featuring aviating protagonists, so why not include this here instead of on a presumed Ice Climber stage? It’d be a nice reference to a retro game.

7. Name: Replay (Excitebots)
Universe: Excitebike
Game of Origin: Excitebots: Trick Racing (2009)
Link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5nXQHxPGHpA
Reasoning: Although the Excitebike series stays grounded for most of the time, this jam is AMAZING and fits the stage PERFECTLY in my opinion. If this doesn’t get in as a song at all, I’d be surprised, as it’s a great song.

8. Name: Character Select
Universe: Pilotwings
Game of Origin: Pilotwings 64 (1996)
Link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-90FuTNpOdI
Reasoning: It reminds me of Chemical Plant Zone from Sonic 2 a bit, which isn’t a bad thing, but itself, it’s a catchy and a funky tune, something which I noticed: The SNES is whimsical, the N64 funky, and 3DS more orchestral and similar to the Wii series music. Yet, this certain tune has the potential to be a great tune for the stage.

There you go, this was harder for me than the others. Hope you enjoy it!

Welp, I missed out. Too much focus on university work to think of Pilots.

Oh well, I didn't have any unique ideas in any case. I'll wait till another round,
