Yeah. Although try to stay away from tracks in the winning list.Man, this round'll be blinder than the last.
Are we allowed to use music from Wii Sports / Sport Resort, even though they were used for 'The WiiFit Gym' round?
Dude, I seriously think you might take this round. I'm really digging the Wii Party Menu Theme, love that you put a Wave Race 64 song, and I think you got great variety. Even if you don't win, I could see you taking 2nd. (Watch this turn out to be a jinx.)If you all are to remember one thing about my list, please let it be the Wii Party menu theme.
Name: Birdman
Universe: Kid IcarusOrigin: Kid Icarus Uprising (2012)Reason: Aw yeah. Here's the other Pilotwings 64 song everyone remembers. It is a slower song, but this stage almost calls for a slower, more relaxed tune. I'd like to see it updated with some jazzy saxophone. Keep it mellow and kinda sexy. Yeah, I said it.
If only! Maybe we will be lucky and find out Kenny Loggins is a Smash Bros fan and will license his song to Nintendo. Of course, with my luck that means we would get this song on the Wii Fit stage instead.
Firstly, I wasn't giving anyone a perfect fit unless they had two selections from the Forces of Nature section of Uprising. It's about 20% of the game, and I felt like two music tracks would be necessary for perfect fit (unless if you had a very, very, fitting and surprising track). Looking back now, I remember you were a borderline 8/9 in fit in my eyes; I opted for the lower score.I need to know why groose gave me a 8 in fit. other than that, I'm really happy with my results.
When you submit a list that isn't to my liking... I won't be.You're my boy, Groose!
I honestly thought you were going to win this one. You hit one of my peeves, but it was a very solid entry otherwise. With just a slight change, I would have handed you out the perfect score.Congrats to you, Brawler, for barely dethroning my music champion streak! Between my two wins and last round's winner getting some help from me, I was worried if there really weren't any other contenders! Dohohoho!
It's funny, I was worried before that losing would have made me feel upset, but I feel quite the opposite. I'm proud of you. Do just as well in future rounds, budd!
As I said earlier, your own lack of Kid Icarus knowledge doomed you in this round. There are 25+ boss fights in Uprising... and only two of them feature Boss Battle 2. It's a sacred theme reserved for the most dramatic of moments... and it just doesn't work here. Palutena's Temple has a similar concept behind it, but I thought it worked pretty well. Now that I have my list for pilotwings (for if it is chosen) I feel uneasy about it... But I feel pretty goo about today :D I did okay and I have taken in all of your suggestions. None of you liked Viridi, Goddess of Nature an you had conflicting ideas about Boss Theme 2 and Palutena's Temple. But at leas I have risen up from last :D
I loved your penchant for experimentation. Viridi's Home Menu was the most unique and memorable song in this entire round.Me have one of the worst scores... on the only thing I'm actually potent with?
That's it, I'm finished (as in not doing another one of these again)!
After I submitted my grades, I wanted to boost your variety score by one or two points. I feel like there is more variety in your list than what I initially saw. But it still wasn't great in that aspect. My pet peeves are using a standalone track as the core song of an additional medley and the incorporation of multiple remixes of the same song... and you just hit both of them this time.Well, that's that. I generally agree with most of what was said about my list; I'm not particularly familiar with KI, so I'm sure that negatively impacted the quality of my list.
When we get to arena Ferox, though...YOU'LL SEE, YOU'LL ALL SEE!
It was that one track that got you in my eyes. It was calm and gentle... on a stage with a megaton bomb and a rather dramatic change in scenery. I just couldn't handle it. You also had two "out of series" tracks... I felt like that was a tad excessive. KI, while not having the depth of Mario or Zelda, has a pretty impressive tracklist. Having two out of series tracks just hurt your importance a little too much. One would have been fine, however.2nd to last place... poop. Well, I think I'll do better next time!
The writing in that game is absurdly good, as was your tracklist. I mentioned in my review score why I didn't give you the perfect score; I really wanted that second nature arc song. I nearly docked a point in fit, too, but War's End jumped out at me and fit really, really well.I'll never be perfect
But in all, uh, seriousness, I would like to congratulate Brawler610 for taking the cake. Tying 2nd place is pretty good for me so far.
By the by, I managed to track down a copy of Kid Icarus: Uprising in store, and trekked out to buy it. It's gooooooooood.
Btw, did anyone expect the writing to be hilrious and constantly breaking the 4th wall?
If one of our judges ever has to resign, I'll push for your inclusion as the replacement. Until then... can't really say anything more.Fifth place. Talk about a major fall compared to last round. I honestly didn't know Thunder Cloud Temple was so popular until I saw everyone putting it on their lists. Eh, props to Brawler for taking the win and hope things work out for Tumblr! BTW, could I sign on as a backup judge in case one of the main judges can't contribute? I do music quizzes for Sporcle.com!

DP and Magnus themes are too overrated to me. Those 2 themes would fit better in an Underworld-themed stage. And I don't do research on the other 2 KI games, so don't blame me. You won't see me doing another one of these again unless another KI stage appears... or something else secretive that I like that few know me to like. I still understand the rules, but I'm still disappointed in my failures.I loved your penchant for experimentation. Viridi's Home Menu was the most unique and memorable song in this entire round.
But I have to honor the rules above all when I'm judging. And the rules say that I have to rate you in variety and raw popularity. You have to admit that you left out the most popular tracks and focused more on Viridi. While I did like to see this, you went a bit overboard. You have to include the big hitters somewhere, and there just weren't enough on Reset Bomb Forest.
If we get another KI stage reveal, I want you back here. Learn from your mistakes and your "I'm Finished!"'s and bounce back.
I can't wait for your Ferox list. We'll get there... in due time.
I disagree when it comes to Magnus's theme. I think it fits very nicely in the current Kid Icarus stage, but I can understand what you mean with Dark Pit's theme.DP and Magnus themes are too overrated to me. Sweet, thanks! Guess I need to spend more time in the Uprising fandom then. It's a cool song, and it's got that Sakuraba guitar to it, but I didn't think it was memorable or iconic to the game/franchise, but that might be because I really don't like Viridi and the Forces of Nature so there could be some bias there. If one of our judges ever has to resign, I'll push for your inclusion as the replacement. Until then... can't really say anything more.
And as for Thunder Cloud Temple... behind only Dark Pit and Magnus when it comes to popularity; it also has the added benefit of fitting with the stage.
Well, sir, you are DEAD. WRONG. THIS is the theme that should be playing on this majestic stage. Opening (Wii Sports) doesn't even hold a light to such majesty! Not to mention that it's the theme of Wuhu Island itself! So yeah, Wii Sports theme does NOT fit. Wii Sports Resort, on the other hand, does. So there...Groose said:Wii Sport’s theme still goes better with Pilotwings than Wii Fit...
