So after narrowing it down to 6-7 based on many of your recommendations and having had conversation with all the individuals I thought were strong candidates after going through their posting history and 64 community involvement I am happy to announce the three leaders of the very first 64 backroom are Superboomfan, Surri-Sama, and Cheeseball.
I think all three are very unique in their background and community involvement and bring something individual to the table. But above all the three of them assured me they would be very committed to the project and community. And that is the most important thing.
This room is a room for the community though. And while leadership is extremely important, the ideas and projects everyone contributes as a backroom member is what is going to make the room, make the group, great or not. The Brawl backroom has an entire group of appointed officials and project leaders that really do great things by the community. The smash global rankings, tier lists, weekly meetings with the community at large, match-up project/discussion, and so on.
And while the 64 community is very unique, its not brawl and I am not pretending it is, the bottom line is the room can do great things for the community. And thats the coolest part, and the thing im excited about. If its not constantly finding ways to give back, create/improve/further the 64 community, it was a waste of time and effort.
So whats next? While these leaders are already thinking about projects, structure, and so on we need to sit down as a group (by group and mean the three of them and me) and make some decisions. Hows the first batch of admissions will be handled? And what about after that? The structure from the get go? Is there going to be a viewable by all room (I know this is something a lot of have presented some thoughts on. And while I do have some feelings and experience of my own, ultimately I have stayed away from the debate. Reason being this is your guys room, its not for me to decide. There are certain things that cant be seen by all, this much I know, but its up to your leadership to decide about the rest.)? Or just resources produced?
This and the announcement to re-introduce the room should be knocked out by the end of the week (fingers crossed on this one.... got MLG Dallas this weekend but gonna try to devote the hours before I leave to it).
P.S. Off topic but the 64 community should be getting a couple main page features in the somewhat near future. Secret project though, just a hint all!
