Just to check, is this just for Franchises after Brawl or is there a limit and another category for franchises announced after Smash 4 was announced?

If the former, Inkling from Splatoon. Looks unique and has a lot of positive buzz. I even made a comic about it instead of Smash Bros for E3 that's how good it looked.

i'll vote for inkling i feel given the positive response splatoon has already had and the fact they clearly will give a quite unique moveset makes them a prime candidate for DLC (or smash 5 which is probably more likely)

I can see Codename:Steam taking off. Who doesn't like Steampunk vs Lovecraft? Offers some cool play potential, and Intelligent Systems has gotten things before (look at Fire Emblem) so while not as huge as Splatoon, this just feels like a game for Smash.

I will say this:
The category used to be "Pre-Smash 4 Series", and was changed to "Post-Brawl Series" when we started the voting period.

Just for cases like Inkling, which would be rather awkward on a separate category for series after Smash 4's release.

Well, other than the fact that it is the fact that it is quite notable as GameFreak's first non-Pokemon title in nearly a decade, it was a quite well received e-Shop title. Aside from GameFreak being hard to work with, I think that puts it in the same pedestal as Dillon or Mallo.

Technically, Brawl's roster was leaked in late October of 2007.
The picture leaks were released a few days before the Japanese release date. Don't exactly remember when, though.
