Stonefish. How often do those appear in Australia? From what I hear, they can sometimes borrow themselves in the sand away from shore and cause severe pain and sometimes death when stepped on.

Well stonefish anti-venom is the second most administered anti-venom in Australia.

what's the most? spiders? sea wasps?

platypuses?
Probably either the funnel-web spider or a snake.

Good thing to know is that since the introduction of anti-venoms there have been no recorded deaths as a result of funnel-web bites.

Is that your Platypus in your signature?
If so what's his name?
No that's Black Mage in my sig.
If you mean my avatar than no. Platypus aren't really pets

They did?
I'm not one on History so I really don't know.
The Dutch were the first to salute the flag, and therefore the first to acknowledge the independence of, the United States on November 16, 1776. Many American presidents had Dutch ancestry. According to tradition, in 1626 Peter Minuit obtained the island of Manhattan from the Indians in exchange for goods with a total value of 60 guilders ($24); most aspects of the story have been called into question by experts. Minuit, a Walloon, was employed by the Dutch West India Company to manage its colony of New Amsterdam, the future New York. The names of some other settlements that were established still exist today as boroughs and neighborhoods of New York: Brooklyn (Breukelen), Staten Island (named after the Dutch parliament, the Staten Generaal), Harlem (Haarlem), Coney Island (Konijnen Eiland, means "Rabbit Island") and Flushing (Vlissingen) .

Thank you wikipedia.

Oh my gosh I'm missing the Australia discussion! Pick me! Ask me questions!

Box-jelly fish and Blue ringed octopus are two of Australia's most venomous. We got heaps of spiders and snakes too though... funnel web and red back. And crocodiles! And sharks! And ridiculous weather!
