I think all the unlockables are shown already, seeing as we've had a picture of the select screen before with question marks, and now we have the full screen.

Hoping for DLC, Mario Golf did it!

DLC courses and characters from MK makes so much sense.

Darn it, those last spots went to Baby Rosalina and Gold Peach.... I'm going to miss Dry Bones. :'(

But that was a cool Direct anyway! :)

Eh, point made. I'm still going to buy it, but I just wanted one character... Dry Bones. I just think that Baby Characters outside of Mario and Luigi are a waste.

So no Diddy Kong, Dixie Kong, Cranky Kong, Funky Kong, Bowser Jr...... but instead baby/metal versions of everything in existence and one billion Koopalings.... WHY??

Nintendo do their own way of what they believe is the best...

I know, Nintendo can be somewhat stubborn, but at the very end Nintendo beats gold or something.

(B.t.w. Diddy Kong is already confirmed if I'm not mistaken)

Besides, It's not like Smash where EVERYTHING changes with a character. I mean, sure the weights are different, but Bowser, Morton, DK are all heavy, so you can take your pic.

Really it usually boils down to who you like if your a casual like me. I mean, I love me some MK, but I'm not super hardcore. I like Light to Med. characters anyway...

I don't understand Baby Daisy or Baby Rosalina. Or Pink Gold Peach. No Diddy or Bowser Jr. Is absurd. I'm still mad about MK7s roster too. I know they're just skins and they race the same, but it's not the point. I want to play as my favourite Nintendo Characters. Not 7 Koopalings, 5 babies and 2 metal skins.

I disagree. Rosalina is a playable character in the latest Mario game (SM3DW), and Wario has a Wii U WarioWare game. Daisy and Waluigi, obviously, but Rosa and Wario have relevancy in the greater Mario universe.

I didn't quite say that right. She's now a major enough character that she appears in all the spin offs. Sorry if I sounded idiotic.

This is the full roster BTW (Why they'd use a metallic Peach over Dry Bones? I dunno.).

Besides the characters, atleast the customization parts are unique in MK8. Take the wagon which Peach drove and the squirrle glider. That's some REAL sh*t...:O

I really think the koopalings took the spots of many deserving characters, as did metal Peach and baby Rosalina. The koopalings are great, but we shouldn't have then at the expense of racers with more current importance like Diddy Kong. This roster made me angry, tbh.

Everything else about this game is fantastic.

I guess the new trend for adding more lightweights and heavyweights is to introduce baby- and metallic-versions of characters. Or at least an easy way to do it, if not a trend.

I sort of had a feeling that Baby Rosalina was coming and I don't mind her inclusion, the Koopalings are also cool, but Pink Gold Peach feels just... so unnecessary haha!

He's 58 now though... Hopefully when he gets older, they'll bring him in and record 48+ hours of Mario's voice...
