Honestly, I think that, while still funny, the "Your tears" jokes are getting a little overused.

To be fair, you could say that for most jokes used.
Heck, look at Monty Python and the Holy Grail. It got to the point where complaining about the jokes being overused became an overused joke in of itself.

If anything, I don't mind them if done tastefully.
If there's an actual joke rather than an overused meme, then I don't mind that.
Heck, even with how much Alfonzo got old, there's still a gem that comes up every now and then.

The only issue I have is when they're done blatantly, which come of more as an obnoxious reference than an actual joke.

I really, really, reeeeeeeeeeally don't like how so many have jumped on the Mewtwo disconfirmed bandwagon because it's just about everywhere. It's especially obnoxious on Memebase where it seems like more than half of the new submissions for Pokemon and video games this past week have been "lolz, Greninja drinks yer tears". I don't even care if Mewtwo makes it or not (I think Mewtwo's super overrated) but I don't understand why so many people think the Direct was a make or break moment for Mewtwo. I'd argue that the Direct made him even more likely and that the position he's in is comparable to how Sonic was before Brawl.

Meh, I thought the jokes were more focused and poking fun at the Mewtwo fans rather than Mewtwo himself/herself. You know....with, seemingly, most of them thinking that the mysterious figure that made a ninja hand sign, while upside-down, and making water shurikens was Mewtwo.

I think it's simply because so many people thought it was Mewtwo during the Greninja/ Charizard trailer

When it turned out NOT to be Mewtwo, people seem to think that means Mewtwo is out and Greninja is in

Because somehow people think being vaguely humanoid and having a charging special makes you "inspired" by Mewtwo or whatever.

Also stupid imaginary "franchise rep" caps that don't really exist. Because having 6 Pokemon characters is just unthinkable.

Because it's easier to jump to conclusion than properly analyze the situation.

Strangely enough, this actually makes me more hyped up for Mewtwo than ever. Mainly because before Mewtwo's confirmation, Mewtwo was seen by everyone and their dogs as a shoe-in. Now that there are detractors, I actually look forward to discussing Mewtwo and feel more enthusiastic about it. Looking forward to blowing holes in terrible logic and putting illogical detractors in their place, then seeing Mewtwo detractors eat crow if and when Mewtwo returns.

What has Venusaur ever done for Kanto?

Charizard and Blastoise have are hard working individuals, with blastoise's water cannons being useful in industrial steel cutting and charizard's fire able to melt through rock and separate the metals from the useless material

BOTH are useful jobs for the automotive industry, which is a key factor to the success of Kanto

What do Venuaurs do? They just sit around hyped up on powder all day

They are useless, and just leach off other pokemon

Blastoise and Charizard are true, proud Kanto citizens.
