I never liked Beyblade. It was just spinning tops as far as I knew. At least all those other Pokemon/Digimon/Yu-Gi-Oh! shows had some kind of monsters or magic involved.

Bit Beasts literally are Monsters. Besides that, they can physically attack people and cause real damage on their own.

In the third season, one of the character could literally summon his own world with his powers, although I don't think it was specifically a magical ability, possibly psychic-based.(similar concept, different source, I guess)

Melee truly is a fantastic player base, I never posted this on the forums before, but i might as well now.

This was posted on /r/pcmasterrace with the OP taking note that compared to all other tournaments, Melee had the highest viewership to prize money ratio.
It gave me a warm feeling knowing that even though we had a measly 2.5k prize for first place, we ended up beating both CoD and Halo for viewership.
Heck, even in the post that this was made on most people admitted to loving smash bros and still playing melee, even after moving onto PC's over consoles.

It’s safe to say that “Super Smash Bros Melee” can be played on a higher level. Within the hardcore community there are tournaments that get held and can boast quite the attendance. Just at the beginning of this year there was a national tournament known as Apex 2014 that held “Melee” and was the second largest “Melee” tournament to be held clocking 629 entrants, EVO 2013 was the largest have an entrance size of 696 entrants and it should be noted that the “Melee” community raised nearly 95000$ for breast cancer to get into EVO 2013 but that isn’t all Melee was the first of three games to break the record of most watched fighting games clocking at 134000 views and is currently the second most watched fighting game ever but there is still more to EVO 2013 for Taylor Hicks, the winner of the fith season for American Idol, entered the tournament as well. It is definitely safe to say the “Super Smash Bros Melee” is one of the most competitive fighting games out there.

I would never play a videogame series with a female protagonist because I don't want to pretend that women think like men do. Its grossly unrealistic and insulting.

As for your examples, Metroid got away with Samus because her sex was hidden under body armor. We didn't know back then that Samus was a chick. It was all a twist. No wonder the series found success.

Other examples like Final Fantasy X-2, FF6, or FF13s games are games that are riding on the success of an ALREADY established series. The series already gained its powerful reputation and could afford to take the risk of a female protagonist. And that's the thing, female protagonists are a risk because they wouldn't be accepted under normal circumstances because they literally go against human biology. Women are not the intellectuals, the thinkers, the doers, etc. They are just the incubators of the next generation. That's all they amount to and their window of opportunity is very short for them to bear healthy offspring after which they are completely worthless. Women are a depreciating asset. And they are only as strong as the white knight loser/mangina next to them (look at Michelle Obama and who she's in bed with).

I would never play the KH series if it starred a female character and curse Nomura for hamfisting crappy characters like Aqua and giving Kairi a keyblade. One of his worst decisions that will help motivate me to buy the series USED from here on in. So shove it. Female protagonists are just garbage overly coddled wannabe unrealistic trash. Only emasculated brainwashed indoctrinated self-castrated white knight losers and manginas like them.
