It's funny, I don't get hyped as much for a new Mario Kart. MK7 was the only exception, but that was because the 3DS was unveiled back at E3 2010. Those were good times. But yeah, I agree with everything you said.MK8 alone probably has the worst MK character roster to date.
Koopaling's are the only decent newcomers, but only the ones you actually like as opposed to all 7. Then we got Baby Rosalina, Pink Gold Peach. Why? I dunno.
There is also issues with choosing unpopular characters over popular characters. E.g. there's no Diddy Kong or Bowser Jr. But there's Lakitu and Toadette! ...who asked for them?
Also, the baby characters feel like they're saturating the roster.
It's a shame, I feel MK8 has the best 32 tracks, but the 2nd worst character roster.(MK7 being my least favorite.)

Sort of the same with me too. I usually just use Mario and Yoshi. The only other MK8 character I was happy seeing was Shy Guy. Shy Guy is pretty hype honestly.

I don't really like to talk about the future of the Smash series just yet, especially since the game isn't out, however, I am interested in how a different director may handle things (I don't see the series is stopping now!). That's not to say I want Sakurai gone, I'm just genuinely curious... Or maybe he could be a supervisor/get a co-director. Smash is putting a strain on his physical health and he has commented on how stressful making the Smash games are, so it will be interesting if he does want to direct the next installment.

You miss Funky Bike GCN? That sucks. At least there's Metal Monster 8.
Funky Kong was a good addition, but almost everyone used him and Daisy because Mario Kart Wii is too competitive, am I right.

I feel kinda different to everyone here, my decision to purchase Mario Kart games has been thus:
"Is Rosalina playable?"
If so, I buy it.
If not, I don't. Don't care about the rest of the roster, because Rosalina.

That is a very strange way of spelling Shy Guy. I mean, I agree he's still the best choice since his introduction into the MK series. No doubt about that.
I kind of incorporated Premium into the plot of TWOTT. So it may look out of place when I eventually release these pieces.
Which I still need to finish. Ahem.

Given his current condition, a co-producer would be the ideal way to go if they were to do a sequel for Nintendo's next platforms if he can't handle things alone. Though him having a successor take his place for future games would be more likely if he doesn't want to work on the series anymore or if the health conditions are severe for an old guy like him.

I somewhat like Melee's All-Star Rest Area more than Brawl's. It had that peaceful setting + the KSS song fit nicely. Now that I think about it, it somewhat reminds me of Windows XP's default wallpaper. It's a coincidence because both Melee and XP were released in the same year, 2001.

I feel you, replaying both Space Channel 5 made things even more depressing considering there was a character based on Michael Jackson. Hell, I didn't even want to include that character in my Sega All Stars fanfic for that same reason alone. ;_;
