I could not have said it any better myself....The **** is this ****?
Magical I know......The **** is this ****?
Do we get this many? I swear they've been coming in by the truckload.Trolls abound in the rumors and leaks thread.
Man I have no clue. I thought that first guy got banned a while back. I wouldn't be surprised if its the same guy as two people.Do we get this many? I swear they've been coming in by the truckload.
I believe so.Man I have no clue. I thought that first guy got banned a while back. I wouldn't be surprised if its the same guy as two people.
I dunno.Saw the Shaq Fu video. I wish we actually saw more than Shaq himself. I have owned the game, I have played it, it's hilariously bad, but does have good music and a fairly cool roster. As in, the choices are neat.
It's still a bad game, but I give credit where it's due. I'm going to get the new one, probably. I might try it out first depending its price. I've been itching for a new fighting game, and I love unique rosters, something that isn't seen much anymore. Street Fighter really stopped impressing me when it's almost all humans(Blanka and sometimes a Shadowloo robot being the exceptions...), and has too many gameplay clones. The lack of other kinds of races is the kind of flavor I love. It's why I like SSB, Mortal Kombat, even Shaq Fu and some others. While stuff like Fighter's Destiny and Flying Dragon aren't exactly high on the "unique tons of races", the gameplay at least has something to it than just "pure technical fighter". Likewise, that's why I love Darkstalkers. The varied roster(which to be honest is the biggest point of fighting games for me. The rosters).
What they're resurrecting that.So good it must be posted again!
YES! MY *****!
...And now the 64 and Light House boards know about it.What they're resurrecting that.
the angry video game nerd agreed that. that game is a piece of ****.
That's kind of my point. The charm is one of the things I prefer more than "just playing perfectly". I'd rather have a game that plays a little bad but has tons of charm than a bland game with nothing but perfect gameplay. The charm comes in many flavors, of course. The music, the cutscenes, the bad dialogue, the enemy designs(or other designs in general)...I dunno.
There's just some strange charm to them.
It's weird. You know they're bad, but yet you still love them anyways.
It's why Sonic '06 is so loveable. Just the numerous ways you can break it, it's almost comical.
The best example I can think of is Superman 64.That's kind of my point. The charm is one of the things I prefer more than "just playing perfectly". I'd rather have a game that plays a little bad but has tons of charm than a bland game with nothing but perfect gameplay. The charm comes in many flavors, of course. The music, the cutscenes, the bad dialogue, the enemy designs(or other designs in general)...
If anything, the two best characters to break the game with are Sonic and Silver.I mean, I love Sonic 06 and Shadow's game. Unleashed? I would if I could really play the thing. I just can't get into it. It's got some charm. Chip is great, the cutscenes are amazing. But I didn't find the music interesting at all. 06 was the top of the charts for me there.(and 06 of course has a lot of problems, no questions asked)
To be fair though, the game has it's, other, problems. That said, the game is a sum of its parts, and of course I look for gameplay first, but that alone just doesn't cut it. And Quest 64 is almost all gameplay(but it does have unique enemy designs, with Gremlins, Wyverns, fire Lions, Lamias(snake version), and so on. Every NPC has a different overall body design, with zero repeats, it's got great music and the level design is unique from many other games that it actually forces you to explore unprepared. No real map, just a compass, your staff, and tons of magic). It's got a serious charm to it other RPG's lack. And it does it without using a story or a giant roster of characterization. Most games tend to not go that well on making unique NPC or enemy designs, too often re-using palette swaps severely(when you've got a third version of the same guy, and then four and five...). I mean, this has 3 similar model swaps max, which are all Gremlin-like creatures with masks. One has a Sun Mask, the other are Oni Masks(one imp-like, the other similar to a moon-face). And that's just early on. They practically just put a cool-looking palette on tons of guys as is, in an attempt to separate them from the crowd. Also, you won't see many games using a wolf design for a Kobold. Or how about a Wolf/Goat Hybrid(and named that, Wolf Goat).
There's a reason I don't own it. Unlike 06, which has fun moments with its glitches, this, well...The best example I can think of is Superman 64.
It's a terrible game I know, but it's just so broken.
I know, trust me, I know. XD He's my favorite to play as.If anything, the two best characters to break the game with are Sonic and Silver.
Don't believe me? There's these guys that do something called "Awful Games Done Quick".
And they had a run of Silver's campaign. And then the glitches happened.
Eh. I don't play games for the story, but the addition of it is cool, as long as the game itself is very fun regardless of it. Actually adding more cutscenes while not changing how you do things in Quest would've worked fine with me. Also, the Japanese version is an update to it(kind of like how Ocarina of Time 3D is, or in the same sense), and it's amazing. Has a cutscene at the end too that was essentially remade a bit for the Quest RPG GBC game, a remake of the original, but it lacks the visual and audio presentation of the original. Ironically, it's the one with a sound test(as an unlockable item via a Lottery). The twist is that the music is really bad due to the downgrade in systems. Albeit, it's not horrid or anything, but just in comparison. For Quest 64, despite using midis, it had really good music, one if its most proclaimed parts. Its story is very lacking, but yeah, people found it to have a great amount of charm, and great for beginners, but more or less not something you'd easily go back to. In my case, I love the game, but it's hardly perfect. To be fair though, the game has it's, other, problems.

Well, that's something I'll have to tell you.Eh. I don't play games for the story, but the addition of it is cool, as long as the game itself is very fun regardless of it.

I've been trying to forget that.If you were referring somewhat to 06, we know its problems. It kind of has some similarities, except switch Gameplay for Story, and you see the problem. 06 has a nice big story to get into, even if it has a human hitting on Sonic(and thankfully he doesn't feel the same way back, which would've been far more creepy), but eh. I liked that Eggman really threw the story for a loop.
If Eggman hadn't kidnapped Elisa so much, Silver nearly killing Sonic would have made her release the Iblis Trigger. In reality? Eggman saved the day a good chunk of the time. He also clearly wanted to save Sonic in the end story, not wanting the world destroyed too. He's an interesting neutral party this time around. Alignments are kind of screwed up in this game, heh.
Because no one brought it up.How come Shaq Fu gets so much recognition but no one ever mentions Michael Jordan: Chaos in the Windy City? It's a pretty fun game and it's almost as bazar as Shaq Fu... *grumble mumble complain complain*
Please understand that I don't want to live on this planet anymore. So good it must be posted again!
Awesome. It was like fighting vectorman, except basketball. He totally kicked my butt when I was a kid though.Because no one brought it up.
But, since you have...
How 'bout that basketball monster?
That sounds clutch!I don't know about you guys, but
THIS IS THE ABSOLUTE BEST VIDEO GAME SONG EVER
Though, dem labyrinths.Awesome. It was like fighting vectorman, except basketball. He totally kicked my butt when I was a kid though.
I really like how the cover art was Michael with the fire ball and the ice ball, it was like "holy crap, Michael Jordan's a freakn' sorcerer, hell yes I'm buying this game". All the different balls you could get were just really cool in general(and no, I don't care how dirty that sentence sounds).
I'm actually just getting the game tomorrow....That sounds clutch!
I have only made it to the 2nd island, but so far my favorite track so far would have to be Grassland Groove's.
It same here bruh...same here.I'm actually just getting the game tomorrow....
That remix was the one thing that pushed me over the line and made me realize how much quality that game is.
also that grassland thing kinda reminds me of lion king
06 is my limit for brokenness. XDIt's even better. You could call it more broken than '06.
And it's the best.
Tis fine and onoted. If you like, I could find the video.
Well, that's something I'll have to tell you.
Ocarina of Time 3D or do you mean Eletale Monsters(Japanese version of Quest 64)?There was an update?!
...I didn't know this.
Been there, done that.If anything, I have something better.
If you're a fan, you'd probably like this.
This is by a man named "Projared". And in this he talks about the problems that he faced, among others...
Honestly, he explains it better than I ever will.
The OVA was way worse about it anyway. At least Elise made sense as a character due to how she was brought up. She wasn't shallow or anything, even if she wasn't exactly a good one. I can get her backstory, but yeah, I don't ultimately like her overall, though. I don't mind her as much as others do, though. I kind of shrugged for the most part.I've been trying to forget that.
Though, I still like to find the idiot who though that was a "brilliant" idea.
Somehow I doubt that's the reason. He sent Silver to do it after all, and Eggman was just there in the right time and place. My thought is that Mephiles had no choice once his minion went against his ideals. That, and he found out Elise's past, so he couldn't have relied on him once that happened. He also could clearly time travel, so probably knew everything that happened, got fed up, did it himself. Plain and simple. It made a lot of sense to me, the only real issues at best were some possible contradictions among all 3 stories when noting each other's points. But Sonic Adventure 1(which this game takes some notes from anyway) had the same issues of inconsistency. Adventure 2 actually properly fixed that problem since the cutscenes ended almost entirely the same way, and it made the Dark ending canon for the Final one to take place. That was a bit obvious, but nothing else was an issue. Regardless of who won, the same cutscene played out during the other parts. Adventure 1 somewhat did this, though, like Amy keeping Gamma from being killed makes it look like Sonic was the canon version of the story. I say this due to the fact they're the only two that match up with each other. Anyway, Adventure 2 just did a somewhat better job at it. I don't think Heroes even tried, and Shadow's game had multiple different endings purposely anyway. Same with cutscenes. Related, nobody knows the true "path" that made sense. As opposed to everything else?!
And to be fair, it could be so that he could destroy Sonic himself. And he doesn't want someone else taking the glory.
