When I'm on forums, I tend to be a lot more brash. I'm actually a lot more mellow and shy in real life. It probably has to with how I have a lot more confidence talking about my opinions and hobbies, where in real life I'm often alienated because of it.

I'm kinda in a similar situation where I know like little to no one irl that loves hobbies that I like, such as video games, anime, manga, art, etc etc. My sister is one of the few that does though, so I could related to her more than my friends. And I do feel weird bringing things like anime/manga up when talking to people because they either don't know what it is, or they're just no fond of such things. And don't get me started on opinions/prefernaces, but forums are a good place to meet people who share similar interests.

And a lot of people here like Smash, so it's great y'know.

I find it pretty fun. I have no problem going back and play older games. Even downloading some games from eShop, I don't mind if the graphics aren't the best because the reason why I bought them is due to gameplay or nostalgia. Though, when my father sees those old, dated games, he always complains and says, "WTF! Why did you buy that ****ty looking game!"

it's very common to be like this, or at least express yourself in a way different than usual. Some people act really girly online even though they are males, etc.

also why some people that are very strange irl are often really terrible online, at least from my experience.

In real life I'm really reserved, I wouldn't say shy since I'm usually fine with answering a question or saying things when necessary but I keep to myself a lot and am the most likely to be called out on never saying anything. I am really careful to not let people know my interests at first (or ever), I usually tell people I read books a lot which gives somewhat better impression than "I love video games."
anyway I'm definitely more like my real self online, as in how I act usually around here is pretty close to how I would act if I knew you a lot irl. I love stupid puns and ****ty jokes and saying ridiculous things with a straight face.
