To be fair, mega evolutions raised the bar when it comes to things being goofy broken. Granted, they're not all like this but Game Freak did admit that their intention was to create Pokemon as strong or stronger than most legendaries.

not too far off. at least for Unova the electrical thing from Zekrom in the first episode reverse-rare-candied him so he was weak again or something.

It also might help if said ad was longer than 15 seconds. Could have used a bit less of the cutscenes too. Though normally I'd be happy if some commercials were that mercifully short.

Apparently, its Ability, Parental Bond, was too much for the OU metagame. It's extremely good in double battles, though.

Yes, they banned Aegislash. Pokémon that were deemed "unviable" or not that good by Smogon in OU are now capable of being used in the tier. Including but not limited to:

by the time season 1 ends you can start seeing the formula of:
-meet new person with a new pokemon
-person gets into trouble, usually because of Team Rocket
-Ash has to beat Team Rocket
-"I hope to meet you again someday, Ash, Misty, and Brock!"
-walk away into sunset

Mix gym battles in every now and then.

the first half of season 1 is the best imo. What started happening I think is Pokemon got big and then the dub actually had to take the show somewhat seriously...there's just some of the best moments and jokes/puns made early on in Kanto.

but yeah I can hardly stand watching Johto, never watched any of the Hoenn arc despite having it all downloaded.

Hmm, well, ZippCast is arguably the best known site of all YT alternatives, in my opinion. On the other side of the planet, while that SSB3DS commercial only has 3 seconds of gameplay footage, it's still good.

I don't know. I was still quite young and a huge pokemon fan when the Hoen episodes started and I still noticed very distinctly that the show's quality jumped straight off a huge cliff at a sprint. It wasn't like I watched the earlier episodes as a kid, then watched the later and was like "wow this is stupid the episodes I watched as kid were way better". I watched it continuously and at the start of one season it just took the biggest, most obvious quality dive I have ever seen.

The Hoenn arc is my favorite in both games and anime. Looking back watching Season 1 and all I was reminded that it's mostly nostalgia that made me love it so much. That and it was new. Now I don't really watch the anime much. The 5th gen show was awful so I stopped. Watched some 6th gen and it was pretty decent. A huge step up from the previous seasons.

And even then, Ho-oh did appear in the first episode of the anime before it's first video game appearance. Who's to say Zekrom hasn't been following them this entire time?

And I know what a few of you are saying. "MVG, why would Zekrom follow them?" Well it's simple really. Pikachu is a demonic hell-spawn sent on destroying the world. I prefer to call him Pikagod. Think about it, the fact that the plot will revolve around it, the fact that it can ignore immunities, and make that giant Electro Ball. It's clearly not of their earth. A mere mortal rodent does not simply have that power. There has to be an outside influence, and that influence is Pikagod. "Where did he come from then?" Well that's easy, it's where most demons are from, Hell. It escaped Hell and is now bent on restoring its dark powers.

And this is where Zekrom kicks in. Because if it was not for Zekrom always finding Pikagod and stopping "Game Over" from happening, then the Pokemon world as we know it is dead. It knew about Pikagod's escape. It knows about the consequences. But all it can do now is wait, wait and stall until it can gets the right opportunity to condemn Pikagod back to where he came. Why Zekrom can't right now is simply due to that pathetic excuse of a human Ash. Because Ash is nothing more than a vessel for Pikagod. A marketing tool that takes Pikagod from location to location to find it's next unfortunate victim. Because of Ash, Zekrom simply can't kill Pikagod, because then everyone would feel sad for him because "Pikachu" is gone. Clearly they are blind from the truth they desperately need. And the writers bring him back. Ready to devour souls once more.

"So, if that's the case, then why doesn't he just get to the point." Well one, he gets his power through marketing along with the souls of those who fell by him. Yes, every Pikachu plush, every Pikachu action figure, every Pikachu 3DS all feed into his power. It's because of economics that he's gotten this far with his power. And yes, even you are contributing to this. I am as well. Because temptation is a burden to all of us. Sure, one could say "Well I don't see it." But that's because you're denying the truth. Sure, don't believe me now, but once it happens and the Pokemon universe is destroyed, don't come crying to me.

"But then why doesn't he show his true form?" (Because let's face it, it's a Pikachu by name only. There is something behind the mouse and that is nuclear holocaust.) Well, if it didn't act all adorable and cute, do you really think people would like Pikagod? No of course not. Which goes to point number two. It has to keep this facade in order to appease children. Otherwise Pikagod could never achieve its true power. Which is why it's just persevered all this time. Because if it didn't, it's chance is lost forever. And why waste that? The cartoon has already gone on this long, it still has an opportunity to regain his power. But as long as Zekrom is around, hopefully we won't have to deal with that. Maybe...

That is what we call plot convenience. To give us the illusion that Ash is a well-made character rather than a marketing tool.

Like, I'm listening to ripped wav of TTYD ost with bose headphones. That should tell you how I care about audio in games lol. I even pay more attention to audio than visuals even tough visuals can change significantly the way I see a game.

It is exciting and saddening that the character speculation will be over soon. I remember this time near the release of Brawl. The Geno and Ridley threads were super excited, only to be heart broken. Is it just me, or are the character threads not as die hard as the Brawl days?

As I said, no disappointment possible, but even if samus as other m design, I like it. In fact, I do not understand why some might not like something just because it came from a poorly appreciated game. I see a lot of hate on that Paper Mario stage because sticker star and yet, I analysed the stage to tell that it was a good choice especially for 3d effects. People need to understand that this is smash, if the source wasn't good, it could be good in smash.

So, I'll be ok with samus, but I don't see Ridley NOT getting in. I literally ran out of devil advocate arguments after months of heavy speculation, that shouldn't happen (it's based on still maintaining consistency).

Agreed. It's good to see it end because we'll be able to see the final roster.. and like you said, it's also saddening because some characters might not be in.

Everything is possible. Those two characters might be in, they might not. It's all about hoping and what will the final roster be when someone leaks everything about Smash 3DS. Samus has been buffed, so she's already better than what she was in Brawl. Some people think ZSS and Samus are the same person, which is true, but a way to make them different is by thinking that Samus is the SA-X from Metroid Fusion and ZSS is the real Samus. In the end, both are the same characters.
