Those were just examples. I just want Toon Link to do SOMETHING that shows that he is the hero of the winds.

I do like the idea of him using fire and ice arrows, do you think the chances of him using fire, ice or normal arrows would be random on initiation like how King DDD's waddle dee throw is random?

Eh, I don't see it as a cop-out, but that's just me. I recently visited the roster thread and I am reminded that we all have our own ideal smash roster.
Mine doesn't include 5+ Mario characters, while others do. Ain't nothing wrong with that.

@ Paper Mario Discussion: I didn't like Sticker Star all that much. I really missed the partner system. The sticker system really just encouraged players to avoid battles and save your stickers rather than use them. You received no XP which added to your reason to avoid battles. That game is an example of how accessibility has negatively impacted a game in my opinion.

I agree about sticker star especially if you consider TTYD. I really don't understand why would nintendo drop most of the elements that made this game so awesome and add elements that just doesn't fit together. What really shocked me was that intelligent system said that Miamoto (idk how you write this) didn't like the fact that the game looked more like a port of ttyd and so the idea of the sticker came. Why would they do that? like I can understand if it would be a port but why just continue on this idea and try to elaborate it more? ttyd did that for the first paper mario idk why they won't do this for sticker star.

Well yeah it's not just you, I've seen the Deku Leaf brought up quite commonly by a lot of people but I'm personally not sure how I would feel about that item being used in his moveset. Perhaps he could use the Ballad of Gales as his Final Smash though if he should have something wind related (if they decide to change some veterans Final Smash's). It would cause a huge vortex to appear and launch his opponents skywards like the vortex's from Smash 64's Hyrule Castle did, except larger.

That's probably what they would do for the Arrows yeah.

No disrespect to Shigeru Miyamoto, the man is a genius and deserves respect when talking about gaming, but he sometimes has a way of messing with things that don't need fixing. I would of loved to play ttyd 2!

Actually, the company who worked on Sticker Star weren't forced to remove stuff or weaken the story. That was completely their choice. Miyamoto did want that, but they did it on their own.

I wouldn't be surprised they did that to appeal to him instead of going against it and suddenly be forced, though.

Also, correct me if I'm wrong, but I also remember they took responses from Club Nintendo (which didn't like those elements in the previous games) and let it influence their decision. So Miyamoto may've not been fully responsible for that.

oh well it reminds me I think I read an article saying that the initial progress on wind waker was hidden to Miyamoto and he had to wait until he saw the new design I think they did that because the game director (don't remember his name) didn't want to show him until decisive progress was made just so that he wouldn't be upset but idk the way it was wrote so I may be inaccurate.

It was in the end their overall decision.

What sucks is a lot of people loved the stories and it was some of the best ever among the Mario series. Mario & Luigi and Super Mario RPG as well have great stories. Don't get me wrong, Sticker Star's story isn't actually awful or anything. It's fine, just a bit smaller than it used to be. My bigger problem is the what Moon Monkey mentioned before; The water-downed gameplay, the lack of experience, and what he didn't mention, was the sometimes overall difficult gameplay.(not being able to level up to heal was a huge downside, imo) I will admit it has a somewhat useful item system, though. It's easier to heal via that.

I liked Super Paper Mario for at least having a great story and partners. The gameplay was very fun too for being different.

you're right and this one I didn;t understand really I know I don't have to expect a chrono trigger like story in a mario rpg but really pm64, ttyd, spm at least tried to have a good story (and good jokes) so idk why they would rely on that it almost seems like they just don't know where to check which made me think of this: did miiverse was added to actually prevent this?

I also made sure to stress it during that online survey a while back. I remember seeing Shokio brining it up in a video a while back:

it's pretty old though, I doubt the survey is still up; but its good to know that they do pay attention to what is said. We just gotta make it work in our favor.

At least Dr. Mario has legitimate differences from Mario beyond a clothing change, which is what makes people thinking her sports version is different. No, she's the exact same person, just able to use... sports items? Like everybody else? Also, Miyamoto's own stuff about Dr. Mario makes it hard to think the Doc is actually Mario due to a very vague statement.

That is correct. But he does seem similar in idea to Wario and Waluigi overall. Wario didn't much contrast Mario at first, besides being nearly identical and just being the antagonist. Boshi actually showed more in his first and only official appearance. Waluigi feels like an update to the idea, and brought it well.

I do hope we get more "evil versions" of characters or "darker versions", if you will. Peach has yet to get one, and although she has two Princesses to contrast against her, they're not antagonists in any way.

Yes, he can. He's a Square-made character. Boshi is a specific character. They may not own Yoshis in general, but they outright own Boshi. It's why he has had no appearances after SMRPG. Nintendo doesn't have the right to use him.

Nah. That's not a contrast to Peach at all. You could argue to Daisy, since they both come from the Mario/Wario Land series, but... that's stretching it a little.

Speaking of mustaches, I remember running a female Ogre named... Ogre(cause name of race, yeah. You know, like Pikachu being called Pikachu? ) who naturally had a Mustache. In the same sense of how Alakazam works. That said, she had a smaller mustache and a smaller Bone Club respectively. Also was very romantic for her species. Which was hard to understand in her case, due to the fact her clothing was just a loincloth. XD

Huh. I barely played that game, and honestly forgot about it. I mean, I remember Wario Land, Ware, Woods, and World, but not this one. I guess that's the problem with one-off games. On the other hand, at least it fits his M.O. of transformations.
