Those must have been some good times. I wasn't alive during those days. I can't call myself a Smash fan without having played the NES classic.
It wasn't that special. Just Mario, Luigi, Link and unlockable Samus.
And to think the Super Smash Bros. series started because of the Beatles song 'Super Smash Brothers'.

Oh yeah! Sakurai, you remember that one character who was really big with me back then. You would always throw him under the bus and diminish him whenever you used him. I always barged him in your scenarios and he would destroy everyone just to piss you off. I think he was some purple dragon or something. How's that been going?

Oh he's been doing well. He's having quite the big (no pun intended) role. Though I'll only say that.

That's great to hear! I know those whippersnappers have been pegging that thorn in your side since the Nintendo 64 was some newfangled jalopy. I'm sure his name was Spiral or Pyro or something like that.

I remember the old collectible disc version of Smash Bros with the little round cardboard discs that you stack on top of each other then take a plastic disc of equal size then slam the stack and beat up your friends for ownership of the little discs. The school hated it when we played Smash Bros. They were so happy when the video game version came out. Less black eyes and stolen property that way.

But in the move to the video game version of Smash Bros, they cut so many characters! Sailor Mercury and James Bond were top tier!

Dude we all know Sailor Jupiter and Venus are the best. Who cares about Mercury?

Dude, I totally remember that! Fulgore and Koopa Troops were my mains.

Tis a shame that they were cut in Super Smash Bros Baseball. Remember that? Babe Ruth played a mean Wario.

The best way to unlock Wart is to freeze your opponent. That was also the quickest way to prison, but it was worth it. Ah, the good ol' days.

Dude, they were A tier tops. Bond, Sailor Mercury, and Yoshi 2 were so obviously better than them.

Mad props to whoever mained Mario 1 though. He was Ganondorf before Ganondorf even existed!

Remember the "how to unlock Q*Bert" rumor?

Clearly they were inexperienced in their work.

Though I will admit, Mario 1 is underrated.

Smash Pogs had some brilliant design initiatives! Like Leftie Mario and Red Yoshi alt costumes were dog-on dappers! Now we need them to be all fancy and these whipsnappers ask for all these colors and outfits! Kids these days ask for too much, honestly.

Sigh. Can't say I remember Pogs.
I was born mid 1992, but the only fads I remember were the Pokemon cards.
I guess I was too young. You old farts and your Pogs.

Poor Sakurai, having to live to be 3000 years old just to put out 574 incarnations of Smash Bros.

My friend saw this current chat and was like, " what the **** is wrong with these idiots? Smash bros didn't come out on the nes!"

I told him it was same old- same old. :troll:

He knows what's up, now, but his reaction was hilarious.

About your profile pic, what did you look up cause I saw you and a person talking about those and they showed a Misty one like that so in general, what do I have to look up on google to find that pic :)
Oh man, I can't even remember. I have it saved as Unamused Toon Link on my hard rive if that helps. I can give you the image file if you want.

I believe it's origins are from this chapter in the Wind Waker Manga.
