Skull Kid just inverted it vertically. Toon Link is on the left before and after Skull Kid flips it. If the flip in the video had been horizontal, Toon Link would've been on the right.

A vertical axis would flip Toon Link onto the right, not a horizontal axis. Inverting the screen over a horizontal axis moves the top to the bottom and bottom to the top, flipping it over an imaginary left-to-right line
