But it terms of actual gameplay, Doc does have more to offer. Different Down-B and Down Air from the original Mario. The pills and Super Jump Punch are also different enough from Mario.

From a gameplay perspective, Lucina just lacks the tipper mechanic.

But she also gets points for being "Better Marth", being a former Marth main myself. Once I tried her out, I got hooked, kept getting more of her and haven't stopped enjoying every bit of her since. Marth just can't compare to her anymore.

Debatable thanks to Miyamoto's assertion that Mario would never play a Doctor. In a game series where everybody plays a role. And so are Samus and Zero Suit Samus. You think that matters where everybody is now a separate Trophy and their own Select Screen slot? Seems pretty damn obvious to me every playable character with a different moveset are treated as entirely different characters and even people now. What you're talking about does. Not. Exist.

And beyond irrelevant. Lucina brings way less than the Doc does here. She's slightly shorter, has no tipper. Not exactly "much" to bring. Being female is not what made her notable in the first place. She's an interesting character for her role in Awakening, not because of her freakin' sex. She was just "Marth's costume" first. And Dr. Mario wasn't a costume during Melee either to our knowledge, just this game at one time. Not hard to see why he got promoted. Dr. Mario cannot use Fireballs. He cannot use F.L.U.D.D. either. Lucina still could've been a costume and nothing would change. Dr. Mario could not be a costume without changing all the models and remaking F.L.U.D.D. into an entirely different model just to show it's some kind of equipment a doctor would use. Dark Pit made just as much sense as an alt. Yes, the Doc was the only promoted one with a unique moveset to a degree, or more than one move. Dark Pit has one difference move-wise(besides properties), his Final Smash. That's it. Dr. Mario has a Down B and Mario's Melee Down Air, which had to be reprogrammed entirely. The animation isn't exactly there anymore either, as Mario nor Luigi have that exact move. Dark Pit's Final Smash is an easy model recycle from Uprising as is, meaning that no real work was put into him beyond "a quick remake of one Final Smash using a different animation, a few property changes..."

It's a full-out fact that Dr. Mario had a lot of work done and plays the most different of every clone. Lucina is second place due to her poorer range, lack of tipper, and requirement to use an entirely different approach. Pit and Dark Pit barely have enough differences alone, as even the meta players are using the same ideal strategies for them. And Dark Pit started off as just a recolor as Pit. Lucina started off as pretending to be Marth. Dr. Mario's official debut was in the TV show as a costume of Mario's. Which never could be applied to the games no matter what. He has never been shown once to actually throw on the costume in any such game, so him being Mario is not even an official statement anyway. That's pure fanon that's not even supported by the creator of the series itself.

Oh, female characters got in, so they must have been deserving BECAUSE they were female? No.

Being female and being deserving are not mutually exclusive. A character can be both. However, being female isn't a valid reason as to why they are deserving.

You do not know what sexism is.
Sexism is being discriminate or prejudiced based around a particular sex.
I'm not being prejudiced against female characters; I'm saying sex does not matter. Regardless of whether a character has a penis or a vagina is irrelevant to whether or not they are deserving.
However, you are being prejudiced for female characters based solely on them being female. That is legitimate sexism.

And what does me believing the Gematsu leak have to do with this? You're grasping at straws here.
Oh, I believed Chrom was going to be in the game because the THEN accurate Gematsu leak said he was in, so I'm sexist?
Bull****. It would only be sexist if I believed Chrom was going to be in solely because he was male and Lucina wasn't because she was female. Which wasn't the case.
