I've only owned Awakening for 3 months, and it's already my second most played game (#2/104) at over 100 hours.
I've only owned Smash 3ds for about 5 days, and it's already my 12th most played game (#12/104)
I just pulled a "Demon's Souls" where I over-leveled characters and put too much emphasis on min-maxing things. Let's just say it burns me out. So, I'm probably not going to go back for a while and if I do, I'm probably going to restart. I still have yet to finish Demon's Souls, I'm right at False King Allant, but I want to kill
Ridley the Blue Dragon.
I only beat Awakening and SS and I have yet to finish Rekka no Ken. SS is probably my favorite tile since it has a smooth transition to both Awakening and the JPN releases. Are you a fan of the series?
After playing as Ike in Brawl, my interested peaked and Fire Emblem: Awakening's announcement and reception is what said: "You need to play this franchise". So, I tried Rekka no Ken and was hooked, but I need to find a legitimate way to play Sacred Stones and the rest of the franchise. I thought Sacred Stones was on the Virtual Console, but I don't think it is. Also, I'd like to (own) and play Path of Radiance first before I play Radiant Dawn which I own - cost $50 since Awakening's recent release inflated prices on the Fire Emblem games.
Marth and Roy were like, "Oh, cool, characters from an unknown series". Roy's voice didn't help and I didn't like Marth at all in Melee or Brawl. I'm not good at spacing and using tippers nor do I like Marth at all. I don't care that he's a "Hero King", the first Fire Emblem character, whatever. I just don't like him. Ike, on the other hand I like more since I guess he's that self-made man type of character and he's just more blunt and brash compared to Marth who's more eloquent and such.
Same story goes to Pokemon. I messed around in Emerald before recently playing Pokemon X. There's nothing that can describe your first Pokemon journey.
Sadly, Mother/EarthBound and F-Zero never got the same treatment. I can't legitimately play Mother games without a Wii U, Mother 3 would have to patched or I'd have to learn Japanese very well, and F-Zero would involve tracking down a copy that's probably in the $100's.
I never owned any Star Fox game, but Adventures, and I played 64 and Assault to finish. I'd like to own them, which is easy for 64 - get the 3D remake -, but Assault, Command, and the other games might be an issue.
Since I wasn't alive at the time, I missed games like Chrono Trigger, Dragon Warrior, Wario Land, Shantae, and more, though I played Contra and Super Mario Bros.
Long story short: TOO MANY GAMES TO PLAY.
