Honestly dont even care who, both series just need more love and have a huge selection of great characters to use in Smash (Metroid maybe less so, but there's perfectly viable cast to choose from if you look hard enough)

Yeah, kind of, but he's also a protagonist on his own with his own heroic roles.

Meta Knight, Wario, Wolf and Dark Pit all fit the rival archetype in the sense they're an antithesis of the hero in terms of moral qualities.

Meta Knight is honorable and loyal to his own beliefs, where Kirby is a happy-go-lucky goofball.
Wario is greedy contrasting with Mario's righteousness.
Wolf is a mercenary who resorts to dirty methods to achieve his goals, while Fox is a much more honorable character.
Dark Pit just wants to do whatever he wants and isn't afraid to call out the gods on their crap, while Pit is blindly loyal to Palutena and naive.

Im hoping Fox has some of Wolf's B moves in customisation mode. Combine that with his last colour and you have a bootleg Wolf.

If not, then theres always Falco I guess

Fox has at least Wolf's Side-B as a custom, no idea about the others.
If you pick those and Fox's gray palette, you can try to pretend it's Wolf, but sadly, I don't think you're gonna have fun with this thing.

A stretch indeed, because I meant the rival archetype from a storytelling standpoint not subject to open interpretation.

Another thing about that archetype is: for all the flaws they may have and acts of villainy they may commit, they will still help out the hero at times, even if not for the same reasons as him.

Another character that fits this archetype is the Black Knight from the Fire Emblem series.

Well, we did get a new villain with Bowser Jr... or actually 8 villains, considering the Koopalings.

Hey, he didn't in OOT. In fact, it makes sense he didn't use one at all. He never truly had one.(albeit, the teased one was from a tech demo and used his OOT model. Note that never became a real thing. We got an entirely different Ganondorf with two swords.)

However, I do think the idea they're why some were cut is probably true. I really miss the Brawl vets. I miss IC's too, but I got a Melee replacement at least.

Great minds think alike. I too would prefer characters over custom movesets. I think atleast 53% of this thread agrees with us.

I... Wouldn't. I'm actually quite liking the custom moves I've seen so far, and I plan to toy around with them a lot when the game comes out over here.
