So, I just thought on something...

If I had to add one stage on the 3DS version per franchise that has or had multiple playable characters, those would be my picks:

Rainbow Ride (Super Mario 64) - Returning from Melee.
Songs: Rainbow Ride (Melee remix) (default) / Princess Peach's Castle (Melee) (alt.)

Bramble Blast (Donkey Kong Country 2) - New stage. Would feature a simple layout overall. The stage's main gimmick would be the spiky brambles surrounding parts of the stage, making it more difficult to KO when launching in their direction, as opponents would be bounced back.
Songs: Stickerbrush Symphony (Brawl remix) (default) / Donkey Kong Country Returns (Vocals) (alt.)

Lorule (The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds) - New stage, based on the 3DS game. The stage would take place on one of the rifts around Lorule, with some platforms for the fighters. Yuga would sometimes appear to cause mayhem, by destroying some of the platforms or summoning minions.
Songs: Dark World / Dark World Dungeon (default) / Yuga Battle (alt.)

SR388 (Metroid II) - Taking place inside a cave, this stage would be a walk-off. The Metroid Queen appears in the background and sometimes summons grown Metroids to attack the players. Normal Metroids would appear in the background as well, but not disrupt the fight (to avoid confusion with the Assist Trophy).
Songs: Title (Metroid) (default) / Psycho Bits (Metroid Prime Hunters) (alt.)

Halberd (Kirby series) - Stage from Brawl.
Songs: Meta Knight's Revenge (Brawl remix) (default) / The Legendary Air Ride Machine (Brawl remix) (alt.)

Area 6 (Star Fox 64) - New stage. A moving stage similar to the Orbital Gate Assault stage on the Wii U version. Players have to hop between several ships and other things during the fight.
Songs: Area 6 / Missile Slipstream (default) / Area 6 (Brawl version) (alt.)

Lake of Rage (Pokémon Gold / Silver) - New stage, taking place near the lake's shore. The red Gyarados would appear as a stage hazard, attacking players from the background. A walk-off stage. Other Pokémon would appear as cameos in the background such as Fearow flying in the background or Sentret and Venonat hiding in the grass. Would have a day and night cycle, which would also change the Pokémon cameos, with Sneasel, Murkrow and Noctowl appearing during the night.
Songs: Gold/Silver Battle Theme (Melee) (default) / Route 10 (Black/White) (alt.)

Tazmily Village (Mother 3) - A 3D re-imagining of the location from Mother 3. A fairly simple stage using buildings as platforms, similarly to Melee's Onett. No obstacles whatsoever here, but a walk-off stage.
Songs: Mother 3 Love Theme (Brawl remix) (default) / Onett Theme / Winters Theme (alt.)

Dragon's Table (Fire Emblem: Awakening) - Taking place on the area where Chrom and Robin face off against Validar. Validar would sit in the throne on the background, launching dark magic spells from time to time. There would be some pillars with platforms attached to, which could be destroyed by attacking them or by Validar's dark magic.
Songs: Chaos (Ablaze) (default) / Meeting Theme Series Medley (alt.)

Chaos Vortex (Kid Icarus: Uprising) - Taking place on the same area where the Chaos Kin is fought in KIU. The Chaos Kin appears as a stage boss.
Songs: Boss Fight 1 (default) / Destroyed Skyworld (alt.)
