To be serious for a second, it's because the Mario characters at least have some differences among each other (even the Doc). However, Young Link and Toon Link pretty much fulfill the same purpose: to make a lighter, faster Link. If anything, unless they really went out of their way to make Young Link unique (one theory I've seen is giving him the masks, which is a possibility), there's really no reason to bring him in.Well we already have 4 Marios
