This gives me an idea, and it ties into something @ Luggy Luggy said earlier in the thread. What if there was a game where Waluigi has to save Princess Daisy, except he's saving her for a completely ridiculous reason (like getting a cake from Wario or something, I don't know), and then Daisy doesn't even want to be saved by him. Then turn it into a Paper Mario-style game, and hilarity would ensue.

Also, if they could add in Luigi as a "side-story" comic relief character, where he's trying to save Daisy at the same time. He'd be so excited because this is his first chance to really prove himself equal to Mario by saving a princess on his own. But then he fails/falls flat on his nose at every turn, and Waluigi laughs at his misfortune when their paths cross. Thoughts?

If they can add that piece-o'-**** Weegee and Evil Ryu as alts, they ought to have :4drmario:, :4darkpit: and :4lucina: as well.

From what I remember, Dr. Mario was going to be in. Dark Pit was rejected for some stupid reason even though he'd be the easiest character to make. (Just have the game recolor Pit's sprite. Boom.) If Lucina were to get in though, I bet they'd change her moveset so she wouldn't be an alternate. A ton of "clone" and "semi-clone" characters were changed, like Luigi shooting thunder balls instead of fire balls for some stupid reason.

What Kermit failed to mention that Crusade has been in works before Smash 4 was even announced, especially before Dark Pit was leaked as a clone.

Last I remember, Dark Pit wasn't "rejected". He just wasn't put much into consideration until at least Pit himself was finished.

Said stupid reason being that M&L Superstar Saga had him use electricity while Mario used fire.

I don't agree with the change nor a quite a bit of the changes made, but I understand the reasoning

He was under heavy debate for that reason, since they were going for as little clones as possible, even with the alts (Dr. Mario was going to be further "de-cloned", for example, and Pichu has been made unique entirely).
I don't recall the final result, but I remember that the idea of alts was generally put on the backburner until the main characters those alts would be for were finished first.

Uh...I don't know why people are listening to an extremely outdated source of information. I barely remember half the stuff that went on. I do remember the Smash 4 characters being a heavily debated topic though. The project had heavily advertised that they were aiming to include all veterans. Not sure what they decided if they decided anything at all. Mega Man does have some of his Smash 4 moves though, even if they don't play the same, and Pac-man is completely different.

Sure, but the idea here is "Paper Wario", that would be more for Paper Waluigi.

I was thinking of a plot where Wario (jealous of Paper Mario's success) decides to make a game of his own to capitalize on it. And the game would be a warped version of the franchise: such as making Mario the main villain; or the partners not liking Wario, and at times hating him, but are along for the ride for one reason or another (such as money, adventure, or wanting to get out of their home).

My dad works for Nintendo, and he told me that Silver was considered by Sakurai but they cut him because there were problems putting him in. One of the programmers has been quoted as saying "It's no use."

The end result of the roster is actually not something that is public anymore.
So it's really hard to tell what is being planned on in terms of veterans, especially with cases like Charizard being solo vs. Charizard being part of the Pokémon Trainer set, Zelda/Sheik vs. Zelda and Sheik separate, Zero Suit Samus staying as what happens after Samus' Final Smash (which had already been programmed as such), etc.

The only thing I know is that any character already in the game will not be removed, even though there are a few that even the higher ups feel should not be there (such as Goku, who was put in the game before the current developer team "took over").

All this Knuckles talk makes me feel they should remake Knuckles' Chaotix and make it canon to the main storyline.
Just imagine; Knuckles, Espio, Charmy, and Vector doin' **** together again. Maybe throw in Gemerl too since he's supposed to be Knuckles' fighting partner and we strangely haven't seen him since Sonic Advance 3.

I think a 2D Beat-Them-Up would fit Waluigi in some way. Think about it : Waluigi hates Luigi. Luigi main games were only 3D Puzzle/Chasing ghosts. Waluigi could do the opposite : beat up people in 2D.
For a story, I think we could stay with a rivalry between him and Luigi. For example, Waluigi saw on the news that a Princess has been kidnapped by a vilain. That Princess is Daisy of course. They then announce that Luigi is going to save her. At this moment, Waluigi knows what to do : saving her before Luigi for stealing his fame and his girl. It's cruel for the poor Luigi, but that's kinda the meaning of the name of Waluigi literally.

A Paper Wario could be nice, I like the idea.

Man I hope that conquest gets the team identification crap fixed so it no longer counts simply playing as one of the characters as part of the conquest. Not really a TEAM VS TEAM when you can be the only one thats actually part of the conquest, no wonder Team Ike and Little Mac slaughtered Team Donkey Kong and Dedede.
