I always thought Awakenings's crit for the Thief tree was pretty bizarre for stealthy killers. What better way to assassinate than to twirl your large sword as you spin like a helicopter.

Fates is pretty bland, Fire Emblem keeps getting blander and the characters armor becomes more and more impractical.

I kind of hate how I'm becoming a part of the fanbase that I despise so much: I'm finding so many parts of Fates to nitpick. I'm just grateful that the character designs for Nohr seem pretty interesting compared to Hoshido.

The female armor is going to get even worse as the game continues at this rate. There is no excuse that Effie doesn't wear pants behind her large armor.

It is really stressful, I'm happy for IS getting a larger fanbase thus money for more Fire Emblem games, but it's becoming so pandering to the new audience it's losing it's essence. I mean, phoenix mode? really? Part of the strength of FE's story had to do with the feeling of the stakes being piled on you, your Technicolor army is fighting a war, people die in wars. (Even if you reseted the level, you still had to deal with the consecuences and plan accordingly)

And I know what you mean, I feel like a filthy genwunner at times when typing this, I want to love my favorite game franchise, but the relationship is straining.

I'll buy it because I love FE, but I am not sure how much I'll enjoy it. As new games pop up I just want to replay Ike's saga more and more.

Also I felt really uncomfortable when I saw the skinship thing, I know it's optional, but still, the fact that a bunch of artists/programmers/actors/etc worked on it knowing it'll sell like pancakes. -shudders- Now that I'm on the creating side of gaming, I can see and understand why they would do such things, but it's still disappointing.
