It's because they're trying to pass it off as a Metroid game. I guaranteed you if it was still Blast Ball, people would love it.

Most of the hate stems from the fact that you don't play as Samus. I think people would be similarly outraged if a Zelda game doesn't have Link as a protagonist and rather has some faceless mooks.

The game was largely created for world-building, to tell more about the Metroid Universe through the perspective of characters other than Samus. It's fine idea... except for the fact that there are almost no other protagonist characters in the series they could use, causing them to resort to the blank-slate soldiers. Given its emphasis on multiplayer, a compelling story seems a bit unlikely, as well.

I think they are legitimate complaints, and they should be working on a traditional Metroid game too. "Don't fix what ain't broken" applies here.

Well it is a spin-off title meant to expand on metro id's universe. Microsoft did a similar thing with Halo Wars; FPS to RTS. Although I guess the difference is that Halo has a tighter lore than Metroid so a game not starring Chief (of which there are four with a fifth coming) is alright since fans know of those other characters and events, whereas Metroid it's "who the hell are you?"

but seriously I think Nintendo@E3 2016 will be marvelous. Nintendo only had a rough 2015 because they didn't want to show off the NX yet and basically give people a taste that wouldn't come again for a long while.

At least more effort seems to have been put into Color Splash than Sticker Star. Let's hope that assumption holds true for all time.

They could be saving it for E3. They did note that they will be focusing on titles planned to be launched in Summer 2016, so there's that too.

I've gathered my bearings and I have a better grasp of the situation. Firstly, it was just a dream. It didn't actually happen, and I shouldn't be so scared about it. See, when I'm sick I'm prone to having hallucinations and random dreams. I was too tired to make heads or tails of what was going on and I was scared to the point of actually asking for help.

I don't actually know why I was scared, now that I think about it. Mayhaps my enhanced sensitivity over my illness caused me to just panic for no reason.

I'm okay now. Sorry for the scare. :s

This year's Digital Event will be a vast improvement over last year's thanks to two things: the debut of NX and more Zelda for Wii U information. It's pretty obvious they're keeping those for the major event, plus a lot more. There are fifteen weeks left for E3, I believe.

Now, I didn't really mind all the stuff they have shown in the Direct, but only two 3DS-related announcements managed to catch my attention: Kirby: Planet Robobot (it's such a weird name, indeed) and SNES Virtual Console software for New Nintendo 3DS systems. A bit annoying that you have to pay for them once again (with no discount or cross-buy offerings), but hey, I can't do anything about it.

It's quite funny that a new Kirby game is coming out for the system as I've been playing Triple Deluxe this week. Must be some dull coincidence.

To be more precise, Drive, 101 days left until E3. And I agree, NX is going to be their big thing this year. And I wouldn't even be surprised if they would announce Zelda U as a NX title instead.

While there wasn't anything that I thought was interesting aside of the aforementioned Fates Europe release date, I still thought that Direct was okay. Star Fox looked pretty great, so did Kirby, Federation Force doesn't look that bad and content updates are always nice.

I bet they are keeping their surprises until E3 2016, just look at last year's first Nintendo Direct. We got tons of amazing new games and news right at the beginning of the year, but things just goes downhill during E3 2015.

I got TPHD and was playing it a little earlier. Previously I had only played up to completing the first dungeon and in the little bit I played so far, I'm already up to the first dungeon. I thought I had remembered most of what I had actually played before, yet I completely forgot everything about the Wolf Link segment. Like I knew what happens from watching others play but I thought it was after the first dungeon. I totally don't remember playing as Wolf Link before.

I don't know actually. I've never seen that movie, but I missed a lot of Disney movies from the late 90's/early 2000's. Atlantis, Lion King 2, Toy Story 2 ('but that's Pixar') etc.
