Cloud's first appearance was actually in Melee.

However, now we have Cloud on cloud in Smash! Truly a great day.

(Admittedly, my initial reaction was also that we got another "anime swordsman". But the more I look at the facts, the more it makes sense for me. And Cloud is definitely more than that.)

Apparently with the exception of Ridley, because we can get ****in' Cloud Strife in this game but not a non-Samus playable Metroid character, because nobody cares about that series when we can have like 60 swordfighters.

Yeah, I'm pretty miffed about this. I mean, congrats for the people who wanted him, but I literally couldn't be less happy about this if it were friggin' Superman or something. He seems kind of bland because of how many swordfighters are already in the game. The baggage I already had against him as a character just adds fuel to the fire.

I'm not sure how I feel about Cloud 100%. I like that FF7 music is gonna be in because this is a dream for me. My problem is how Cloud's history with Nintendo affected his chances? It doesn't make sense to me and felt in some ways, it's a waste of a character slot for someone who deserves it far more

I don't care too much for Cloud, but there's no need to be so irritated by his inclusion, especially seeing how he couldn't have derived from the ballot possibly.

Why would they say that there's another special announcement next month if Cloud's the ballot character? It makes much more sense to say that Square approached Nintendo after they finished working on Lucas, Roy and Ryu about the idea, which is why it took so long.

There's no indication that Cloud's the ballot character outside of people claiming he is.


EDIT: Also, "out-populars" isn't a word.

I kind of expected it to end this year.
Well, a year of support ain't bad, and we have a pretty great roster of character's and stages already even excluding Cloud and whoever comes next month.

Also did anybody else notice that Cloud floats instead of running? It's probably more of a reference to that one scene in FF7

But also it could be a VERY loose nod to Dissidia where essentially everybody can quick dash to the opponent which is awesome if that's the case. Lastly, his Amano outfit and outfit from Crisis Core should be a thing.

• Splatoon stuff is neat
• TPHD is neater
• Saw Typo Man and Fast Racing NEO at the Nindies@Night event, and they still look neat
• Hyrule Warriors made by internet porn artists confirmed. Not neat
• MOTHER 3 is on VC in Japan but not in US. VERY NOT NEAT
• Cloud in Smash is MAXIMUM NEATNESS
