I know that Pokémon announcements mostly take place in march to have releases in November and I set my expectations low but

On the bright side, seeing the Cloud trailer many times is getting me hype

I'm back. Had to take in that ending, and calm down.

Quite simply the best reveal yet, and in my opinion, the best reveal period. What was the odds that Cloud would of became a playable character, you know? I'm definitely happy about this reveal, and I'm super glad it's a character I actually wanted this time. Definitely will be spending time with Cloud from now on.

Besides that, I'm also hype for RBY Wireless. That alone gave this direct a gold star. I didn't hear anything about Minecraft though, so I'll assume the leak is false.

This was my reaction at seeing Cloud:

Honestly I never thought he would be in, better said didn't cross my mind much, I didn't think it was impossible, even though FFVII hasn't been on Nintendo consoles and FFVII will be remaked for PS4, he has appeared on plenty on spin-offs on Nintendo handhelds, not to mention . It's just that, you know, Nintendo hasn't received a main FF game in years.

Oh well, I'll buy him anyway.

Also of people that complain: Really? You guys think he's the ballot winner? Not only there'd be multiple characters (not to mention the other slots), but his case seem to be like , planned since time ago.

Thinking about it, Cloud does make some kind of sense. FF used to be exclusive to Nintendo systems untill FF7 came along. You could consider Cloud in Smash as him finaly "coming home".


Plus he's the most popular FF character so I guess if you gonna choose anyone to represent FF...

Isn't every character made to look broken as all hell in their trailers? Even though Mega Man got beaten up during his reveal, he still kicked ass.

He's probably going to be combo food for Sheik, Space Elsa, and Zero Skill Spamus.

If you think people complaining is a bad thing, we'll have exponential more complaining and complaining much fiercer whenever we are actually given a ballot winner because it's not who x person wanted to win. Like the streets are gonna run red with blood.

I don't really care who wins the ballot, I just want to see who wins it.

This is a very strange phenomenon. I have never played any Final Fantasy game, (besides crystal chronicles, but I doubt that counts,) and I should be worrying about an even further shortage of Roy mains, but . . . geez I'm pretty hype.

Because we go another third party DLC which might not be from the Smash ballot, and he's a character from a franchise that have never got to Nintendo's home console for over 20 years.

I think the Direct wasn't that interesting actually. I don't care much for Zelda, Pokémon RBY for VC isn't that interesting for me because I own the originals and the rest were just things we already knew or release dates. In my opinion, they clearly saved the best thing for last.

• Star Fox Zero is amazing
• Again, I'll not buy TP HD, but I like Wolf Link amiibo
• I'm GLAD Linkle is a separate character, she still look fanfiction-ish to me, but I can stand it
• It interested me on the go that new Museum stage on Splatoon
  
• Seeing the Golden Mega Man and Digby amiibos, I'm sure it hurts to be a collector now
• Pokémon Super Mystery Dungeon looks neat
• What to say on Xenoblade X that other people haven't?
• Ultra Smash looks fun, but not a must buy
• I NEED that FE:Fates edition

The hypest things for me from the Direct was all the Pokemon stuff. Pokemon Super Mystery Dungeon, Pokken, RB&Y, and Picross (kinda).
I have mixed feelings about Cloud. I never played Final Fantasy 7, so I don't have any personal attachment to him. Admittedly, he's another anime swordfighter (who seems to play eerily similar to Ike and to Shulk, to a lesser extent), but whatever. I'm excited to try him out when he's there.

I hope he is too, and that he doesn't become the next Mewtwo.

Mewtwo's only bad because of lack of play and misconceptions. I'd hope that wouldn't happen to any other character too.
