Currently reading through Stephen King's It. It's good, although the chapter I'm currently on is a huge ordeal.
I'd assume this scene is better in the book in terms of horror.

Certainly not in comedy though; this is gold.

As a non-believer
Its best to not even say that you know, flame baiter?
In other news, this math is ticking me right off
Completely random question but if I were to set up a Cards Against Humanity game on Xyzzy this weekend, would anyone be interested?
Ooh I wouldn't mind that. I will try to push my homework to the side

I sure am, but only if other people are in it too. I tried it before with a Social Thread member (sorry, can't remember who it was) but we were the only two interested.

Not there yet. :p

I disagree.

It wouldn't be the same, you're right. But it wouldn't ruin it either. And I am someone who adored them in the previous games. I would be perfectly okay with Popo and Luma.

I was kind of hoping they would have changed Roy a little more, but I do like how they changed a few things at least.

At the cost of how many innocent lives, livelihoods, and disasters?

That's like a parent letting their pet die because it was their child's responsibility to feed or take care of it, to teach them the consequences. ;P
Maybe from an individual perspective that's bad

But as a species we're growing and evolving.

Besides, life is only temporary. We cannot escape death

And if there is a God, we are rewarded in the afterlife.

Not baiting any flames, I'm just telling the truth about myself. If I get some flaming for it, why should I care?
Because humans are weird and we go coco over things about other people :drshrug:

Ok I have a question for people. For those that have taken precalc, Is it hard for you?

Man, I've been trying to enjoy Pokemon recently, and I did really like X and Alpha Sapphire. However, with everyone and their grandmother suddenly only playing to EV train and Nuzlocking, I always feel pressured to make a team that's "competitively viable", instead of using Pokemon I actually like, because I can't play against anyone else who has the same mindset as me anymore. And it's not like there's much to do after you beat the game, because for some reason they decided to take out almost everything fun that the old post-games had.

I mean, if I want to have a damn Skarmory on my team without grinding around to get it's "perfect stats", then I will. I just hate not being able to play against other people because of that.

I'm using a rain-based team in Gen 6 simply because I like Politoed.

I've never played Cards Against Humanity, so I have no idea what it is. But isn't it like, "mature" stuff or something? That's what I was told at least. Like it's an adult card game.

My belief is that there's no way to tell if God exists or not as we lack any kind of irrefutable evidence to back up any claim. We can't tell that God exists, but we can't tell that God doesn't exist either nor do we know if there's one god or multiple gods.

There's no evidence. There are no indicators that help any side of the question. Without evidence, there's no way to back up a premise.
I would ask how one would arrive at any conclusions at all under your system of knowledge.
What is it to know, what can we know, how can we know that we know, etc.
However, I do defend that God, as described in Abrahamic religions (such as Judaism, Christianity and Islam), doesn't exist. Those religions describe God as omnipotent, omniscient, merciful and good. If God is exactly as described, wouldn't he have the power to make this world better? Wouldn't he be benevolent and good-nature to rid the world of its evils? Wouldn't he know the solution to all of this world's problems?

I fail to see why such an all-powerful, benevolent entity would ignore the problems of this world and wouldn't use his might to turn it into something good. Therefore, it stands to reason that God, as an omnipotent, omniscient and benevolent being is something that doesn't make sense from a purely logical point of view.

Therefore, I live my life and form my own opinions with atheism in mind. The God described in those religions doesn't and cannot exist in my own point of view.
Let's conduct a thought experiment.

If God does exist, and if he is all-powerful, and all-good, and all-knowing, AND evil exists as well, then God must be SO good, and SO powerful, that he allows evil in general because he knows greater good may come of it.
So it is demonstrated.
In particular instances, we might not know why some thing which is apparently evil happens, but the logical, inevitable conclusion must be that more good is done by the existence of that apparent evil, in accordance with the premise that we are finite in our knowledge.

For example, it may be that the evil that arises from the fact of free will is severely outweighed, by the good that is done because the natural portions of God called justice and mercy would be known (say, how could we know the light, or appreciate it, except for the darkness? It is utterly impossible, because to understand light is to know that which distinguishes it from other things. I'm sure you've heard of the fish who asked "what's water?"), much less carried out, and the good that would come from free will.
Or the pain that arises from general suffering. God has some better end in mind.

For a far more thorough and long-winded explanation: http://www.newadvent.org/cathen/05649a.htm
Also, I don't intend to debate. You're free to believe in what you think is right. So, whether you agree or disagree with me, let's just leave it at that and respect each other.
I can't respect you and openly disagree with you? Sir.
Perhaps it's because I respect you so highly that I want to seek the truth with you.

Lastly, you contradict yourself openly. You say you are agnostic too, and that we cannot possibly know, but then you go on to say that God cannot exist. Not to mention the fact that you implicitly contradict yourself when you say "cannot exist in my own point of view," since existence implies reality, or objectivity, and points of view imply subjectivity.

It's Apples to Apples but with a mix of dark (dead babies and burning jews and the like) and childish (by which I mean "penis, hehehehehe") humor. "Mature" indeed.

Ohhhh I love Apples to Apples. And I suppose I have played "mature" games in the past, though not in that way. I think.

Sounds interesting though!

Why are you guys talking about religion.

Breeding and getting the right items/IVs/EVs does take a lot of time though. I agree that the post game hasn't been all that exciting lately, except in BW2 (I think that has a postgame).
If you ever play competitively, I'd just say that Smogon's meta is just... not interesting.

Religious topics are always fun to read because people, more often than not, are strongly opposed to it or they are religious themselves. It creates some... interesting discussion. :awesome:
