Smash 4 demo to be playable at Best Buy (for reals this time). Which characters?

Doubt it. According to Renegade Kid's Jools Watsham, the reason he believes why we are getting them via eShop is becaue eShop demos have to have the same testing and standards as final games. And since these demo will no doubt be NOT final in the slightest, they couldn't be released on the eShop.

Don't expect a demo any time soon. Chances are, you'll have to wait until E3 2014.

It hasn't been confirmed anywhere that SSB4 will be playable. All official sources say that SSB4 will be limited to screens, or at best footage. The games you can expect at Best Buy will be Super Mario U and Mario Kart U, not SSB4. Be realistic, people.

Do you realize the game has been in development for almost a year and a half? Brawl was in development for about two years, or a little less (started development in October 2005, released in January 2008). That's plenty of time to have a demo together if they wanted to have it.

I'm not going to say for sure there will be a demo, but it's far from "unrealistic" to think there might be something playable at E3. How long do you guys think a game takes to develop, anyway? This isn't the N64 age when games took like 5 years to develop occasionally. Development started in February of last year at the latest and as far as we know, is on schedule.

It would be nice if any character already revealed is in the demo but otherwise, I'd expect the N64 starting roster + Pit and Bowser at a minimum for veterans, which is good because Bowser is one I'd like to see in action. As for Newcomers, I think Sonic was at E4All, so I'd expect Megaman, Fit, Villager, and Mac at a minimum. They might skip over Rosalina and Greninja if the think they'd be "too hard" for someone to just pick up and play.

Guys, this only got announced today, so don't expect any final locations list for a while.

Anyways, off the bat, I'm expecting N64 starting roster + Pit & Bowser maybe with Villager, Mega Man, WFT, Rosalina, and Little Mac. Better yet, just have all announced characters show up. We may even see someone announced at E3 coming into the demo for hype and relevancy.

I'll try to get video. The Best Buy 5 minutes from me had Mario Kart 8 last year, so they'll have it this year. It was the only one in the state. So I'll see if I can go all times of the event to play it. Just let me know which one you'd rather me play as.

Of course they won't give out full copies to Best Buy. They'll give out discs which only have the demo content, which will likely consist entirely of content we've already seen, and nothing else. There'll be nothing to hack, and I doubt a regular Best Buy employee would be able to do so in the first place anyways.

And I know that it's not a tournament and they probably won't allow it, I'll bring my Wii U Pro Controller to this event anyways.

If Best Buy gets a demo game, the only thing that would be worth while to hack is Kirby's different Hats. Unless they keep out the Kirby Hats of the characters that won't be in the demo then that will reveal the characters in the game.

Pessimistic me: The E3 cast with a couple other revealed characters thrown in there.
