Pit: One of the greatest Heroes of our time
After playing with Filia a bit more, I really think that she may be able to work as a stand alone character.... IF her opponent isn't anyone with a projectile. She gets zoned HARD, and hitting the opponent with Ringlet Spike doesn't cancel out their projectiles. So, I'm thinking that she would really work well in a team of 2, either with someone who is a camper, or with someone who can be a bit rushdown, but also has a projectile.

I'm really hoping Valentine works well with her, since Valentine does have some pretty awesome projectiles, especially ones injected with her medicine. This is only theory so far, but I'm pretty sure she would work best with either Valentine, Peacock, or Parasoul. I'm still gonna stick with solo Filia for now, but I'm pretty sure I'm going to need someone to assist her with opponents with projectiles.

Also, anyone else using Filia out there? All I seem to meet are people using Parasoul, Ms. Fortune, Peacock, or Cerebella.

Filia/Cerebella is a legitimate team as well because she helps you stay in and Filia helps Cerebella get in.

Peacock is a ***** to get in on. Holy crap.

;_; Played a Peacock on PSN last night...I have never been zoned so hard in any fighting game ever.

I've out lamed some Peacocks with Ms. Fortune's headless sneeze attack. :3

Full screen DP, even better when I get the solo bonus.
I just wish it was easier to position with it, Mike Z dumbed down puppet mechanics too much, Ms. Fortune's head is no Ignis or Ada. :/

It's more like how Eddie worked, imo. Only you have a little less control over the placement of your "other."

Edit @ Rutger: Also doesn't help that I'm playing Painwheel primarily. =/ Kinda easy to get lamed out with her when you can't incorporate flying/unflying into your gameplan.

The thing is, against Peacock, which is the fiercest zone you're going to run into, you should be able to make it count for more than enough once you actually get in.

Hm, I haven't even messed around with Eddie, I'll go check him out...

Okay, yeah, I can see that, obviously both Carl and Relius have taken a lot of thing from him and Ms. Fortune does resemble him more.

Ms. Fortune is still a dumbed down shadow character, I can't help but get the feeling that Mike Z wanted to play it really safe.

Her head attacks have a ton of cooldown and with no real control of the position outside of attacking...

And calling the head back I guess. She may find some good uses out of that special.

But really, there is no easy solution to this, and she looks solid anyways. :/
I'm happy with how she turned out, so I guess this is just me wishing my character was better.

I hope we won't have to wait long until the lobby patch comes out.
I've only done training mode aside from that short session yesterday.

I'll probably do some story mode this weekend. I'm actually interested in trying it out which is rare.

Peacock/Filia lets go! Got my AAA all I need is my sent drones and Ill be pretty much set. Online been really solid thus far. Besides a few abysmal matches with people in the 100+ pings 70 and below run pretty damn nice. If any of you PSN guys want to play msg me. My names the same is it is here.

I haven't picked up the game yet, but is anyone else planning on running a full team?

I wanna run Double/Peacock/Cerebella (though not necessarily in order). I dunno if I'll like all three characters but I'm a big fan of the idea of a 3 person team.

So much more work to figure things out when there's not much more than your own ability to figure out what works.

Played this in arcade style setting yesterday. It was pretty fun, I'm still enjoying it. :3

Also, despite day one grappler opinions, I do think Cerebella is going to end up being one of the best characters.

Cerebella definitely seems solid, I really like her kit for once and it's the first grapple I really liked playing in and game.

I think some of her moves are too safe, it's very obvious that Mike Z wanted his grappler to be good for a nice change of pace.
Nice change of pace? Grapplers remain one of the most frustrating archetypes for anyone playing against them.

@Zero - I don't think so, but I could be wrong.

Whether that is the case remains to be seen, but simply from a standpoint of theory, yes, bull****.

I have faith in the Skullgirls team that this won't be too much bull****.

Not really. That's the status quo and it causes much less QQ partly because of that and partly because most people get infuriated by grapplers.

Didn't the "status quo" also precipitate Zangief's rise to top tier in the early days of Vanilla SF4?

Hm.

Grapplers are annoying, tho. I'll give you that. And Cerebella is prii goot.

Man, this Cerebella complaining is pretty funny, because I then think of the tools Kanji has in P4A.

Double Jump, Air Dash, projectile, Paralyze Status Effect(you can not move), a super that deals more than half health to everyone when he is low on health, every character has a reversal of some sort in that game as well, every character is also a shadow character so he gets some of those tools as well.

Makes Cerebella not look that bad overall imo. :3

Designing a character to be worse than the rest of the cast is a bad design and balance decision.

Better?

It's still a TERRIBLE balance decision.

Better, but not right. Dan and Roll are still a thing that puts that statement up for debate.
Depends on the game. Dan was never complete *** in the SF4 series and Roll was actually not half bad in TvC, for example.

Not saying you don't have a point, Ryker. Just adding that on there.
