I just realized who created this thread.

Good times, I used to look at his site in the late 90s-early 00s as one of my favorite glitch-teaching sites.

Anyway, I'm usually pretty lenient against players that need to be AFC for a bit, mostly because it would be pretty obnoxious to do otherwise.

I was in a Brawl tournament last week and my first match was an 8 year old kid... I showed mercy and only 1-stocked him lol. I didn't want him to quit Smashing forever. I did spend most of the match teaching him how to Shield Grab and use the C-stick.

**Note: Someone playing Snake was merciful on him and the kid actually took a game off the Snake player. He actually used the shield grabbing and the C-stick. I felt so proud. That match was a fluke though. They played newport city as a joke and the chimera got Snake twice I think lol.

Either way, mercy was good for me, bad for snake.

No mercy against taunt-teamers

If I didn't make it obvious enough in the original post, I show no mercy against taunt-teamers. More recently I have been going back to Basic Brawl to hunt down such players. Once I find the pro-crashing Taunt parties thread, I'll post some of my cheaper tactics I use against them. Fortunately yesterday, they were so easy that I did not need to resort to such tactics. :-) To be continued...

Ive been pinned against them and I still won every time no matter what they did.

Still 3 v 1 is still unfair but I can manage with just 2 people being able to attack me.

Definition of "taunt-teamer"

Sorry if I did not make my definition clear. "Taunt-teamers" are the ones I define as being taunters with the sole purpose of teaming up on the first person who attacks, seen generally in Basic Brawl. They have no intention of being passive, being evasive, or showing off stunts. They just cave in to peer pressure to make up for their lack of honor, dignity, and skill. They all taunt simultaneously when a "crasher" dies, even if none of them had anything to do with it. One might just call them the "bullies" of Brawl, but "taunt-teamers" more accurately describes the specific types I refer to. Their only real threat is in their numbers and they play on ignorance of newcomers who just joined for a legitimate fight.

In contrast, I have no problems with the other taunters: the pacifists, spectators, glitchers, etc., as they are often better and / or just practice their tricks / evading skills.

Also, on the very rare occasion that taunt-teamers show up in Team Battle, I just call them Team Battle taunters. They are the easiest to dispose of since at least one cannot attack you without being a little creative. Plus it's way easier to mass-disconnect them in this mode, so taunt-teamers quickly find that their antics have little chance of ever working in Team Battle. It's a lose-lose situation for them, so they generally stick to Basic Brawl for obvious reasons.

I hope that clears things up. Anyway, I found the other thread where I intended to post, but once I was about to post, I had troubles connecting to smashboards. I'll recompose my thoughts in that thread if the site co-operates this time....

So thats what ya call those guys. Those are the players that I despise so much. They're lack of honor and dignity really makes me wanna go after them even more. Say for instance if they're trying to KO you but they cant get the job done. They then go after a much more vulnerable player and get an easy KO. Wheres the honor and dignity there? I'm with you on finding and absolutely destroying taunt teamers or the bullies of brawl as you put it. Someone needs to make them taste defeat, embarrassment, and rage and I'm just the guy to do so.
