Pushing X does the same thing as pushing Y. There's no difference. just DON'T use the analog stick to jump IMO. whichever button feels more comfortable, do that. I can't really understand your last question though. X___X

i have no idea what that question means. you press the button and then release it within 3 frames. if you're planning on then pressing b, 'swipe' your thumb down. if you plan to hit a, swipe it to the right? there doesnt need to be any swiping involved, though, just press the button and then immediately release it by whatever method you feel like. i just tap it for most applications.

You don't have to. Some people hit Y with the tip of their thumbs, while some use the middle joint of their thumbs.

If you use the middle joint, you can swipe around since it is a bit faster. However it isn't necessary because the only technique that requires a quick Y to B movement is Short Hop Double Laser, and that technique isn't even all that great for Fox.

Any of his other shine tricks that despite requiring quick fingers are not so fast that you are forced use the swiping motion. So you have the freedom of picking how you want to hit Y.

Hope that makes sense.

Just practice SHFFLing. When I started, it was easier to practice SH's when not doing them painstakingly alone. Plus, running into a SHFFL always felt easier, too.

You can use either X or Y. Don't expect to get the short hop down on your first day though, it takes practice and muscle memory.

if u use y swipe to the left cuz its closer to b. i use x, but im quick enough to not need to swipe to SH.

i swipe from x to b for SHDL and multi shining. if u press a before fox is airborn(hes airborn at frame 4.) the input doesnt go through.(so u have 3 frames to slide from x to b. ul nair if u press it any later.)

Probably. There's not much flexibility in your movements if you use the joystick to SH.

Short hopping doesn't depend on how lightly you hit the button, it depends on how long your finger is on the button.
