In a Falco ditto, say my opponent SHFFL's into my shield. Should I be shining from my shield after their aerial before their shine, or after their shine?
Also, is this a reliable way to combat Falco's shield pressure game or if they do it right, can they hit me anyway? If this is the case, what other options do I have? Shielddashing, etc?

you can shine out of shield after the aerial/before shine or after the shine/before aerial, both methods work. but by far the most common method is to shine oos after the initial aerial.

shine OoS is fast enough to beat all methods of shield pressure (except maybe double shining idk) assuming they are within range, and you're good at it. the only problem is DI mixups or spacing where your shine OoS wont even hit. idk mess around with it

yeah i see mango and alot of other falcos use this alot. i cant get it frame perfect so i land on the ground very often, but i've been working on waveshining in place so i can retouch the ground faster.

Nope.

It depends on how and when they time their aerials.

Fastest shine out of shield hits on frame 6 (one frame slower than grabbing). It's certainly effective, but you gotta be smart with it/able to recognize when you should do it.

well yea. I didnt mean you could just do it whenever

but even the ideal falco pillar has like, a 15 frame hole somewhere (depending on when they aerial) so as long as your recognize it you can beat it with shine oos.

i thought i had made it clear thats what i ment when i said "if you're good at it" but meh lol

1 frame faster than grab

it's a better shield grab with less range that does 61 damage

that's it

after the shine is usually good is usually good for this sort of thing but beware of double shine/early aerial that ***** this

Seeing as its hard to guarantee you'll do it frame perfectly, think of it like KK said: a better shield grab with less range. Its essentially the same speed, but leads to much better things than Falco's silly grab.

being highly imperfect at shine OoS what i do is usually shine OoS after the aerial if they aerial high and then just assume I'll mess up and roll out if they aerial low. sometimes i'll wait in shield so they do another aerial after the shine and then react to when they time that/where they go, but i find shining oos after the other falco's shine very risky.

and do it VERY fast lol, if you time it right you won't leave the ground and it ***** haha
You have to be fast as **** to shine OoS without getting off the ground (Especially with Fox)
I've only seen a Fox shine OoS without leaving ground once :)

Shine OoS ***** but if I know my opponent is good at shield pressure I usually just buffer-roll.

naw you gotta learn where the holes are. its too powerful a tool to not use.

staying on the ground is often optimal but you can still usually get something after the shine if you dont. sometimes you even want to leave the ground.
