Solution:
1. SH F-Air
2. Analyze if your opponent will put his/her shield up.
A. If yes, procede to step 3.
B. If they don't, continue your assault.
3. Predict their shield while still airborn so as you land, do a ShieldBreaker.

Basically: SH F-Air, ShieldBreaker while still in air.

If your at the correct range, you'd have an advantage on their shield lag. If you really know they'll shield, bait it and go in for the grab. Presto ~

Hey Zorai, what part of Queens you from?

I've toyed with this idea, but never put it into practice, I'll try later.

This can get annoying if you're trying to get damage on a character at a lower %, since they can easily shield grab it. It's useful if they don't shield it, as it sets you up for combos, but sometimes you should just pivot around until you know for sure that you're going to connect the hit. If you're going for a tipper then there's really no issue. You're too far away to be hit usually if you DI right.

This works when used sparingly I've noticed. You wanna tip the first f-air and on your way backwards get some distance and throw out the shieldbreaker.

I usually prefer baiting for a grab, or using DB in front to see if they try to retaliate. SB has mindgame purpose, but I usually don't use it very often (the use goes up more against characters like bowser and DDD).

This is old lol, idk if it was formally presented but pretty much everyone knows about it. At this point in the metagame most people don't hold onto their shields very long, though.

Who the hell is getting wrecked by grabs unless you're playing Dedede?

^^^ Forgot to mention that, lmao. If you're spacing right you're not gonna get grabbed off a fair unless it's someone with a tether grab or D3.

Yeah seriously...

D3 is the only person who can consistently shield grab me after Fairing, and good aerial DI can help you with him as well. Nair works on D3 ftmp as well IMO, especially if you space it really well and if they aren't expecting it and instead expecting a Fair on the shield, then you could possibly get a good hit on D3 if he tries to grab and you are at tipper range or take away some shield.

Wow that sounds bad, hopefully you guys know what I'm talking about...

It's funny when you mess around and spam SHDFairs and your opponent won't shield it. Ever.

So, a lot of us are getting shutdown by grabs because people keep shielding pretty much everything we do.
Lol, if Marths got shut down by too much shielding, that'd mean I wouldn't lose to them ever. That's one of the funniest things I've heard in a while.. If anything, Marth makes me scared to shield everything he does.

Just damage their shield with fair, dtilt, side b before shield breaking it. Or, mindgame into shielding the shield breaker and chase them when it's this big: .

It's nice to see you in my domain Emmy.

Anyway, if your Fair is getting shielded, try spacing it so you land out of your opponent's grab range. Also, try moving past your opponent and using Uair, into pivot dtilt or Dancing Blade.

dtilt is excellent for shield pressure, as is the DB if used right. SB I only usually use on heavies that have a strong shield grab game (like DDD and Bowser).

Dancing Blade is NOT good for shield pressure! However, it's generally okay to use the first hit on the back of someone's shield.
Exactly, unless they have certain moves, they arent able to turnaround the shield. Hence the "if used right". Also, I would think spacing the fourth down hit of DB so that it is on the edge of his hitbox would do decent shield pressure (don't use it often though, otherwise they see it and punish accordingly).

Eh, I think that no one would let you get to the fourth DB hit while in their shield, it's too obvious, they could just roll away and punish. Seriously man, the point of DB is that it's a punisher, not a pressure move, that's not what it's *mostly* used for. Maybe as a mixup for pressuring once or twice a match, but never consistently.

Got it, makes sense. Still, I wish we had a good shield pressure move that starts on frame 4 (dtilt is 7 if I recall).

It doesn't really matter what range you end up as long as the SB hits the shield.

Also, I'm in Ridgewood.

Dtilit is a much better shield baiter and the IASA frames go right int the shield breaker if they keep the shield up, also the Dtilt spaces into the perfect tip of the shield breaker

Perfect shield (I know, it practically defeats the point in having an SB, and though it happens rarely, its so unfair when it does).
Also, dtilt is one of those decent punish moves, good for shield pressure, does good damage, and has good follow ups. What's not to love?
