Shield pressure tactics

what are some ways you pressure ur opponents shield and/or overwhelm ur opponents shield/mind itself?

my fav thing to do is

peanut>gt forward nana1> gt forward nana2> sh z catch nana2> repeat last 2 steps(maybe a ftilt if i feel like an *** lol) till opponent breaks shield/spotdodges for appropriate punish o-o.

Monkey Kick is fantastic for pressuring an oponent. Usually when I feel that an oponent is trying to go defensive I throw it in to mess up their flow and combo into tilts and jabs.

I just stand there and pretend to do something. NO but really, just throwing a banana at your opponents shield is the most viable pressure...

Corner them on the edge>gt forward/smash throw naner at opponent>get second naner at hand>peanuts. Works for me.

People that are used to playing me have now begun to spot dodge..once people learn the matchup they have a tendency to do this to your grabs.

I just meant that I never really do anything to poke the shield with Diddy. If I see someone grab I lay a nanner down near me and grab. Grab beats shield. Whether or not they spot dodge doesn't matter. You can always follow up with something.

thing is there are things called Oos such as ness nair or a fellow diddy bair :S its kinda hard to pull off a grab on difficult opponents. who holds their shield long enough to be punished by a grab anyway ? not any good players i know O_<. just saying.

i usually just gt forward then gt another naner, but move backwards to stay out of grab range

safest approach is the best approach. unless ur hardcore :O

Dtilt -> Stutter step FSmash

Or against characters with bad OoS options, double d-thrown banana (dthrow, hits shield, recatch and dthrow) to Fsmash.

well i never really knew what people meant by "shield pressure", i think it's either pressuring his oponent into his shield and punishing or punishing an opponent that puts his shield for nothing with unpunishable stuff, so i apply both 8D

As a Diddy, you can just kinda predict when they will shield. I use this to my advantage.
