This was first brought to my attention by this post:

I've seen an angled jab happen.

Not sure how it works though.
When I was smashing with Rohins earlier this month, we got a few oddities on tape, I took the first two I found:

The Sheik is jab cancelling in these videos, so it's the first jab, but even if it were the beginning of the multi-jab, it still high in one clip and low in the other. I have no explanation for this.

1st clip shows normal jab, then a high jab
2nd clip shows 2 low jabs

Rohins is jab-cancelling all these jabs I believe, but at the very least, the 2nd jab can either be high or low, if not even the first jab.

in the first clip, jiggs flew a tiny bit above sheik, in the second got hit by the jab, landed and crouched

maybe its some sort of automatic aiming sheik does, if the oppononet is in a special spot, and you jab teh first jab (it´s always first cause of jab canceling here, right?)

what´s homing? xD and why for balancing purposes?

edit: i dont believe the first one is a low angles jab to (in teh second clip)
it seems shiek leans forward more on the second jab...

Perhaps he jump canceled, as opposed to CC from dash into jab, causing Sheik to have some positioning differences. Like her torso/body was positioned slightly different compared to her arm in the two instances.

I tried it out on a cpu and it appears that it just homes in on your opponents air distance
