What???

Dthrow at 55%, to another dthrow. It looks like no DI, but I've never seen this before, ever.
Maybe sheiks can just chain throw past a certain percent instead of worrying about tech chasing?

I know that somewhere past 100, sheik has a chain throw on forward and backward DI, but this is different. I'm guessing that at this percent you have to be frame perfect.

If Falcon DIs anywhere but away from Sheik, Sheik doesn't need to tech chase. At 0 you can U-tilt, actually. In that case, SS DIed behind Mew2King at a percent where regrab was also an option. It's not hard, no frame perfection required, etc.

If Falcon DIs away the tech chase is 100% necessary until like 115 when you can D-throw Dash Attack. Or if you're near the edge at like 25-30 when you can D-throw F-tilt if Falcon DIs away and goes offstage from the D-throw.

Maybe something to do with the wind?

I knew you could CG Falcon after a certain %, but I forgot what it was since I've never really needed to do it...

falcon can just DI away
Yeah b/c after falcon DIs away three or four times and gets dash attacked or grabbed from his tech roll every time, he's definitely going to continue doing it.

I've never seen or heard of regrab from neutral DI. I just thought it was very relevant.

And I think it was independent of the wind, he does it on battlefield the next match at mid-percent as well.

xbombr: No he just didn't DI away. This has nothing to do with wind, stage transformations, lasers, stale moves, etc. He just didn't DI properly.

Well, his other choice is to be autocomboed by U-tilt for a ridiculous amount so it's not beneficial to DI in, even if DIing away seems futile. By DIing in, he trades being tech chased for being auto-comboed either offstage or into the same tech chase situation he'd be in if he DIed away, only with more damage.

I've never seen or heard of regrab from neutral DI. I just thought it was very relevant.
It's pretty old. It also works on Falco and Fox but obviously at higher percents.

Yeah I noticed this when I watched the later matches and the same thing happened.

I don't see how DI away = tech rolls, DI away avoids the grab, he can miss tech/tech anywhere even with away DI.

DI away doesn't equal tech rolls.

DI away = di inward and outward, aka DI away from sheik. If they miss the tech you can dash attack, if they tech anywhere you can chase and grab or regrab the tech in place.

but if they don't DI away, as you observed, sheik gets a guaranteed grab or tilt

so why not DI away and force you to follow one of 4 (or more depending on how slow you are) options

You should always DI away from the Dthrow, there's not a reason to leave yourself in Sheik's immediate tilt/grab/smash range without making her work for it. At least there are less options and more chances to screw up if you make her move to get you.

If you don't DI away from Sheik's dthrow as Falcon, you fail at life.

M2K displays why Falcon should never DI behind at the edge very well. It's better to DI away and possibly not get hit at all rather than DI behind and then get back thrown by Sheik because then it's an easier gimp.

the wind pushed them forward towards the edge though, had he DI'd away, would he have gone off the stage?
And even if he hadn't, your teching options right on an edge like that are severely hampered.

Well if everyone thought like this in game then they could be predicted 100% of the time. And regrabbed. 100% of the time.
Stop b1tching in every thread you go to. It's not like every single falcon knows this anyway, and after 4 or more hours of playing people get tired. People aren't perfect anyway.

If people thought like you and promoted DIing in when thrown by Sheik, they would be auto-comboed 100% of the time. And eat things far more unappealing than repeat regrabs. 100% of the time.

When you DI away as Falcon and hit the ground, you can random your tech options and do a few things to dodge her common tech chase strategies. One of the biggest ones is SDIing (and ASDIing) the jab reset into a standing animation, which SS does in that match. Granted, this is countered by them just hitting you off the ground, or waiting for your reaction, but hitting them off the ground requires some degree of prediction depending on the move (some moves are too slow to use off pure reaction) and if you use a tilt, it is often DIable (or it may be too staled to keep them in knockdown). The other option would be D-smash, which can end combo if they hit the tech. The wait requires some good reaction time because he gets a possible four actions from it (stand, attack, roll either direction). When Sheik has four things to cover, plus four non-tech options to cover, and Falcon alternates between them fairly randomly, it's much more difficult to respond to those accordingly in succession than it is to press up and the "A" button and then take a monster auto-combo that will lead to that same tech situation.

It makes zero sense to ever DI into Sheik as Falcon from the D-throw.

What the hell r u talkin about

Where did I promote DIing in... lol. L2 read.

Point of thread = I never knew you could regrab from no DI. If SS did it twice, then its obviously relevant, and if you say no good people ever do it, wel, SS did it twice.
This thread is over, wtf are you trying to do besides make up points that I supposedly advocated.

I guess that's not directly saying that you should DI in, but it seems like you're implying there's some sort of superior option. When there isn't.

Perhaps I read this wrong but, it sounded, at 4 am, that you were trying to infer that pocky is wrong for saying that you should always DI away from Sheik's D-throw as Falcon. And then something about linear thinking (and doing the best thing every time) being bad because you would be regrabbed, which made no sense, because you're more likely to get away by forcing the tech chase than by letting her regrab you as a mock chaingrab.

It, of course, does nothing to discredit the relevance of bringing it up. Not everyone knows that you can regrab at that percent, or U-tilt combo at any percent. My wager is that the bulk of people don't bother with either because even DIing in she can still tech chase normally if she doesn't have the timings for those down or is simply lazy. But SS made a bad choice. That's all there was to it.
