SoP 5 was great, and much like Layne, I hope all of them non-regulars (btw... am I considered a regular..?) show up again :). Also, I couldn't help but notice we had a ton of tv's. Was the problem not enough cubes, or just power outlets or something? You *do* realize I own three GC's and a Wii right...? hit me up if there is any problem! Oh, FtS, your sig says Sep 25th, not 15th, which I'm assuming is a typo.. confusing me :).
But, okay, it's late, so I'll give shoutouts tomorrow if it's not busy at work...... 'night!

I love having new players. Shout-out to all the non-regular attendees, you guys rock, and your probably the only reason females were present. Keep it up, first tournaments are really hard because there's all sorts of crazy play-styles you've never seen, and your used to the way you and your friends play. Hope we see more of ya's, even though none of you are probably reading this.

Well I'm reading it. Go my first post to prove it!

I just signed up on the boards and apparently live near this tourny hoster so perhaps I'll show up. Depends on how much work I get from my classes that week though. Pleasure to meet you all here though. Sounds like I'm in for quite a humbling experience (if I go) if all your trash-talking is any indication. :)

Edit: And whoa, depending on Fox's age, it's possible that myself or one of my friends went to school with him at some point. Though my guess is he's at least a bit older. Fox, if you ever went to Silver Mesa/Albion/Hillcrest(or Brighton) then by all means speak up.

Welcome Zamoz! Our trash-talking isn't that good of an indication (hey, RA trash talks all the time, but he's terrible......)
I hope you can make it!

Phew, just made it back. I had no internet access the last few days because I was visiting Zion. The trip was certainly worth it, and I highly recommend visiting the park to anyone who has not had the chance.

Magi-Fun playing you. You were a very good sport and a nice guy. Keep working on that samus and you should be in good shape, although you might want a secondary since samus has a tough time in certain matchups.

Cdbobo-Great stuff in teams! You pulled out some very nice team combos, especially considering we had never teamed before. Funny stuff in the carride too. You have a lot of very cool doc combos. It was a pleasure meeting and teaming with you.

Rafa-Didn't get to talk much, but funny stuff at the end with hotel mario. I'm glad to know I'm not the only one who suffered through actually playing part of the game! Seriously, what was nintendo thinking with CD-I? Awful!!!

Lengeta-Thanks again for driving me and making the car ride a lot of fun. You and Bobo were good company for sure. We didn't get to play much the second day, but I'd have been glad to give you a few pointers (same for anyone else I played). Main thing I noticed was that you played a bit too fancy, which lead to quite a few sd's. I know most people play Falco that way, but the first thing to do is learn to play him slowly and intelligently. Fire lasers and study how your opponent avoids them, and use whatever moves seem to be working. If your opponent finds a counter, switch your strategy accordingly, and do your best to predict what they are thinking and doing. Once you get all that down, then you can speed up a bit more. That isn't to say that technical skill isn't essential (it is!) but once you get the mental aspects down a bit, the technical skill will come with more ease. Also, don't worry if you mess up, because everyone makes mistakes. Even players like KoreanDJ and M2K will mess up, but the largest difference is that when they do, they don't let it get into their heads.

Very cool guy, and I hope you have a good time with brawl when it comes out!

C!Z-Didn't get to talk much on the day of the tournament, but it was fun playing you on Wed. Thanks for driving me to Lengeta's house that day too. Nice Sheik and Marth.

Gojira-Very funny guy. Our matches after the event were a nice ending to a very good tournament. A very nice Bowser indeed. You've got a good sense of humor and it makes it very enjoyable to play against you. I'd say your in good shape with Bowser/Sheik.

RagingAsian-Close match! That is a dangerous Falco. I had to resort to grabing the edge a split second before falco to win that second one, but I wasn't a hundred percent sure I'd grab first. You and C!Z were also a good team.

Laozy-Very cool samus, and a very cool guy. It was kind of lame that we had to play so early in both teams and singles, but you still placed well in both events regardless. I'm glad we had the chance to play on both days, and I'm sure your samus will continue to improve at a rapid rate. Hopefully we'll meet each other again on brawl some day. Oh yeah, and your brother is really good too! Keep practicing with him and you guys will be in great shape. He might be the worlds best young player

FoxTheStampede-Thanks for holding this event. I had a great time. You can do some pretty impressive things with Fox, and it seems very well balanced. Lot of enjoyable matches, and it was very nice meeting you.

PerfectChaos-Whew, those first two matches were really tough! They were both incredibly close. My variety of characters really helped during the second set. Had every match been a sheik ditto, I have a feeling they would have been much closer. I guess its obvious, but your sheik has a lot going for it. Like Gojira, you have a good sense of humor, and it was a lot of fun playing you in the tournament and in the friendlies after. It was also cool that you started out as Pikachu just like me! You should keep playing him in low tiers, because low tier events are bound to still be occuring.

Wow, that went on far too long, but again, it was great meeting all of you. Sorry for people I didn't have a chance to give shoutouts to, but I didn't get to play or talk to everyone. Utah smash scene seems like a great place, and I hope all of you enjoy yourselves and do well in future tournaments to come. Thanks again for being such good company!

I talked to one of my main smash pals and chances are pretty good that we'll be able to show up the 15th (I just remembered I need to remind him to get that day off work in advance though).

I look forward to seeing how we compare to the rest of the field. :)

People are always bugging me about an attendance count for the tournaments, so I will try to have one this time. Post here or let me know some other way if you plan on being at the tournament or might be there. Also, post if you need a ride or something similar (everyone who planned on getting a ride from Layne, find another ride quickly).

Also, more cubes would be good.

If Orem DOES end up being able to make it, I'm sure they'll bring along plenty of cubes. If not, I can always bring mine.

Sweet, I always look forward to killing ice climbers.. whether it be via ninja-skill trajectoried pills or destruction of power, it's always great fun :)
FtS, how many cubes do you want me to bring? I guess I'll just bring one if you don't tell me otherwise (all the times I bring one we never use it, so I don't really want to bring 3 and not use any, lol).
Junpei, I can provide you with the lamb's skin parchment for the afore-mentioned blood oath if you require .

I need to go about finding that ride... who else down here drives..? I suppose I have a car...

Everyone like the idea of starting a regular Utah County vs Salt Lake County Crew Battle at this tournament?

More utah county people would have to find a way up here.

Since 8 of the top 10 in Utah are Salt Lake County (and the other 2 aren't Utah County either), the crew battles will be unbalanced at first. Hopefully a crew battle tradition will motivate Utah County to catch up to Salt Lake County, by holding smashfests like we do, actually playing with each other at all, etc.

Well, St. George says they want to try to come to this first one. Maybe they can be on the Utah County team so it's not extremely unbalanced.

Let's have a 2 vs 8 power rankings battle then. If you lose, you forfeit your positions on the power rankings.

I got a car that can fit me + 4 , so if I'm not mistaken, then I should be able to bring everyone. I'm not 100% sure if I can come just because of school, but I'd say about 85%

Bobo you have a for-sure ride to this right? I haven't played you 1-on-1 since that tournament in June when I 3-stocked you twice.

Prove that you've gotten better and deserve to be on the power rankings.

You refer to the tournament at Zack's I assume... that's the last time I remember playing you, and that was the first time I played your falco I believe. What can I say... shine was a surprise, and the second match I picked my scrubby ganondorf just to have some fun :). Ganon currently is running at 300% of that level, and Doc... well, you'll soon see the gaiety, don't you worry about that..... ^.^

And uhh, no, I don't have a for sure ride. If casture could count me in the 4 + he spoke of, that'd be cool...

Actually I was referring to the tournament at my house in June. It was the most recent tournament that Buzz attended in Utah. No Zacks.

Oh yeah... forgot about that. The crew battle was fun there :D. And all I remember aside from the crew battle was my fight against C!Z where I was a little upset after wards actually. Surprised myself with that. Do you remember which TV we played on....? the left one, middle, or right (crew battle) ....... . . .?

look at the signature dude, look at the signature.

I really don't remember that match. It was pry after the C!Z match, and I didn't care either. That's right, counter-john!

That's what happens when I decide to get more involved once again, just like old times. Those biweeklies last year made me lazy >_<. Hopefully at least one of you can take my place if I somehow disappear :p
Oh, whatevah Tina.

Just because you have the perfect house for smashing doesn't mean you're like, Utah God or anything. :p

I leave for a mission sometime December (I'm guessing) so I can't back-up for any random disappearings ^^

And yeah, really it just comes down to location. Not many of us have the perfect area. Mine's decent, but not the best, that's for sure.

Your list is inaccurate. Casture is bringing a 5-seat car, not 4 friends. Lots of people missing. Some people are on the wrong list. Leave my job up to me, please.

I figured that "everyone" would be 4 other people. And also, I started exactly from where YOU asked for confirmation of who was coming.

Oh yeah, and sorry for being curious. I noticed that you hadn't done 'your job' yet. I didn't know I wasn't allowed to help myself to a decent heap of information that hadn't been unearthed yet.

I apologize for not being able to satisfy everyone / do everything the way everyone wants me to 100% of the time. There's always someone unhappy no matter what (even if they don't say anything), especially when you count people who randomly pop in but have nothing to do with the issue (you know who you are >_>). Whatever :ohwell:

There's plenty of ways for you to 'get involved' if it really bothers you that much. I'm also open to suggestions, but I rarely ever get anything other than sarcasm.
