Nintendo Power seems to think a lot of things, such as that the Wii > the Gamecube. They've turned into BS fanboys. Don't listen to them.
Wow, a Nintendo centric magazine hyping Nintendo products? OMG, that's like OXM hyping X-box games.

WHAT MADNESS IS THIS?:ohwell:

So now I have no way of telling whether that game is good or not unless I play it? Great...:dizzy:
No, just go to unbiased sources. Unbiased meaning not official magazines. Sites like The Video Game Critic and getting info from people on here can help you. I mean, we're not necessarily unbiased, but we'll give you an honest opinion that isn't determined by a vested interest in the game selling well.

I never said it was surprising, I'm just saying they're BS fanboys. And they can praise the Wii without bashing the Gamecube, especially since they praise every other Nintendo console.

It's a good thing that I already know about that website, then. Now that I think about it, unofficial sources are more critical and in-depth (does Hardcore Gaming 101 count?).

You know what? I'm gonna listen to your suggestion and ignore NP's reviews from now on. I was getting tired of collecting them and was planning to stop at 300 anyway, since Anime Insider seems to be more interesting.

At any rate, I'll just need to get their "20 years of Nintendo Power" collector's edition book, as well as their pre-Super Paper Mario player's guides, and I'm good to go (unless those are rubbish too).

I do not find the Nintendo Power reviews to be terribly off personally. They tend to be between half a point and a full point higher than most reviews. The exception was the Okami Wii review, which was the lowest of any reviewer.
