I believe its called spam Mkiller, or as i like to call it, newbie postings.

Basically newbs trying to get that 200 (or whatever the number is) post count to advance to the next rank so they get another shiny pokeball by the name and hope other people won't be able to call them newbies.

Now to make this post non-spam, Big Rock is probably right that there are 24 characters but thats all.

DK jr? Nintendo is not going to just resize DK's image by 75% of the original and call it a new character. Wigglytuff? Stretch Jiggly vertically and there we go. Megaman is possible but again, does Nintendo want to stick to its tradtional characters before inviting others to the party?

And NOA staff most likely have a clause in their employment contract that they are to keep certain things secret (until the release) no matter how much someone bugs them. The email they respond is full of filler BS "We here at Nintendo are very proud of making Super Smash Brothers Melee." Gee, like they would be disgusted at the thought of producing such a game. Anyway, its usually accompanied by just a few vague hints that can be taken in any direction to keep you happy.

"Expect the unexpected" - So if you are expecting a super game with tons of new secret characters, does that mean it will be released with no secret characters and the game stinks?

But he is giving us clues for eight, that still equals 22, and there are supposedly 24 total. Where are the other two? No one outwits the Muffinman. Money your right they are gettin sick of you buggin them.But the thing about extra characters in the japan version is correct they always make the japanese versions better.Kinda a way to say screw you americans we just want your money....

Actually, I think it's probably more work to remove a character in the game in the American version than just get some people to do the voices.

Let's think about this...Do we have an OFFICAL number of hidden characters in SSBM? Has anybody confirmed the EXACT number of fighters within the game? We shouldn't judge anybody or rule out anything at this point (unless, that is, if somebody can give me proof of a confirmed number of fighters).

As an ending note, I wish Bomberman will make a Melee appearance. After all, there have been a number of Bomberman games appearing recently...

The stupidest idea I've ever heard so far is to remove characters from the original game or confirmed new characters.

If Jigglypuff has been replaced with Wigglytuff, then that doesn't really count. He/She has just simply evolved.

I don't care how many characters they have as long as they're each balanced and have original moves. I would hate to play 5 different versions of mario with different names (i.e. Mario, Luigi, Wario, Waluigi, Metal Mario, etc.). I doubt this will be the case though.

Heres what i think, Smash Bros is supposed to be a game with classics, Mario, Luigi, etc. Now they are getting waaaaaay to classical. Ice climbers? Who cares? I just want the classics. Also, We probably should just not say anything more about Big Rock, I think he comes back today. Even if he is lieing, this is kind of fun. But what if he isn't? He'll come back saying "You guys don't believe me? Fine, I won't tell you." But we all want to know, and if he tells us some cool ones, we'll have something to look forward to in the game, even though it might not be in it, but still, our upsetness of being let down if we are will be overcomed by the realease of a classic. This game will go down in history and we will be the first ones to get it. Right?
Lets just try and GUESS! or not

We hear at Nintendo really appreciate you E-mailing us. We would love to tell you the secret characters but then it wouldn't be a secret after all. But we do know that this was no secret. We have been given word by the president to tell you one secret character. We voted on who we would tell and we made the decision. All we can say to you Link#1 is that the Blue Bomber is back. Thank you once again.

Blue bomber sounds a lot like Mega Man. If they say "he is back" that means that Mega man is making a return to a NIntendo system instead of PSX! Sweet! Another mystery solved! He could be "like a kirby character" all he has to do to get a guys power is touch them. Mega man w/ fireballs, or boomermangs, and a little hammer, SSBM is shaping out to be a great game! (it couldn't be Mega man X or EXE because they are on GBC and GBA)

Yep the Blue Bomber is Megaman. He's been called that sense back in the day. It never really made sense to me other than the fact that he is blue. This is rad! At last I can play as Mega Man in Smash Bros. I've been hoping for this forever!

Someone got an e-mail from Nintendo telling them that they are having Mega Man Trigger in the game, I was hoping for old school Blue Bomber, but hey I'll take what I can get. I'm guessing he'll be a cross between Samsu, Mario, and Kirby. I can't wait to try playing as him!

I doubt Thomas is a playable character. However, I've often joked of him being one ever since the release of the original. I think he'd be too similar to Captain Falcon.

I'm not a lier, and the kid is not to good with pokemon, so it might have been a mistake. Yes, Mewtwo and Megaman. There are 24 characters. I'll give the next clue when I finish reading the posts, cus i've been away for 3 days, as I ssaid before. AND I AM NOT A NEWBIE TRYING TO LOOK GOOD, SO SHUT YOUR MOUTH BEAST!!!

Alright, next hint: this is a SEGA character, although, I think this one has recently been sold to CAPCOM. (so a friend tells me).

I TOLD YOU MEGAMAN WAS IN IT!!! There will also be some information on all the Megamans (i.e. X, Trigger) when you figure out the last character.

And Capcom Fan? Thanks to your brother.

Some one from Powerstone? No, most probably not. I think the best person from Sega would be Sonic, Tails, Knuckles, or one of thier other Sonic Adventure characters. They're "clasic" enough. So many posts have gone up saying that because Nintendo and Sega haven't "merged" their shall be no Sega characters, ie. Sonic. But Capcom and Nintendo haven't "merged" and that hasn't stopped them from putting Mega Man in SSBM so what is stopping Sonic? It's either Sonic or one of the other SonicA characters. Although I have no idea what Sonics connection with Capcom could be. Ahvel. So am I guessing well, or not?
