Boo, I didn't check the site all day today, I missed out. I was playing some intense racquetball though.

Truman and I (maybe others?) are playing tennis at 6 so smashing would probably happen closer to 7:30 or 8. I'm down though, I guess just meet in the regular room? Unless we do it at someone's place?

I will also bring Project M.

Yeah. I waited until 6:45, and nobody picked up their phones either, so I wasn't about to wait around to see what was up with smash. I'm not gonna feel like going back up to campus so I guess it'll have to wait until some other time.

the best way to practice tech skill i think (for fox/falco) is to beat the **** outta a level 1, damage ratio .5, handicap BOWSER

other than that, level 1 standard practice

and try to move fast, incorporate new tech skills, etc

and yeah, we should :)

double post:
i registered for pound but wont be able to go
i got the super cheap rate for entry ($30), plank says i can transfer my reg to a homie
deep norcal gets priority if sheridan/joe/dajuan/whoever want it
dont take it unless you are like 95% certain you can go, just for courtesy's sake

edit: entry is for melee singles and doubles, in case it wasnt clear

here's my current tech skill regimen:
i try to practice in three different ways, i feel like each has it's own advantages and help me practice different stuff.
1) Vs Bowser: Like joe said, lvl 1 bowser, .5 damage ratio, 9 hadicap on cpu. usually i only do this on fd and practice stuff like nair/shine timing, shine/grabs, nair/waveshine away, etc

2) Vs Nothing: Use the name entry glitch and fixed camera mode (Not neccessary, but i prefer it). practice moving around the stage. i think joe told me a good way to practice this was to make up little routines and then try to get them down and make up a new one. sometimes i just practice one specific things (im working on backwards waveshining right now, mostly to not avail). helps me get my movement speed up.

3) Vs different lvl 1s: usually fox, marth, falcon, peach. this is for practicing stuff like waveshining, wall infinites, drillshine->grab on marth, etc. after practicing the other two ways, it's sometimes easy to forget what actual comboing is lie for a second. i usually finish up with a few rounds against different cpus trying out different combos and stuff.

my two cents

ahhh so ****

good **** brian
my other advice is to try and go "beast mode" when you're practicing tech skill, as best you can

try seeing everything really fast in addition to moving around and everything, because that way you can work on your pattern recognition as well as muscle memory. for example, when you see something happen during a match, you'll think "oh i've practiced this weird scenario a lot of times" because you were *seeing* it happen while trying to think fast, while doing tech skill.

also, when do you guys wanna play again?

i want to go rock climbing tomorrow night again if you're up for it, sheridan

I have hockey on Wednesdays, so it'll have to be Thursday.

"Burger." is pretty good but kinda expensive. $10 for my Lamburger.

that place used to be Marcello's, and it was ******. i think that probably closed before you came to santa cruz. (i want to say it closed in 2004, but i dont know for sure. now that i think about it, could have been closed even earlier.)
and i know all kinds of ****, you dont even know mang
(my aunt/uncle live half a block down bay from bay/mission and my grandma lives like two blocks from there, im fairly familiar with that part of town)
