It seems that certain characters compliment each other nicely in team battles while others may not be a good fit. As Samus players which character do you think would be ideal for Samus to team up with (hypothetically provided that your partner could play equally well with all characters) in say a team tournament? Additionally which character do some of your partners use? The intent of this question is to get some advice concerning character pairing and to compile an overall survey regarding Samus players partnering trends (which characters Samus players are most likely to team up with).

I would definitely say a Peach, Mr Game and Watch a MetaKnight
Peach can trap em in combos then you can blast them with your cannon
Mr Game and Watch's down throw is Beast mode for samus to punish with
And Metaknight OWNS ALL

I wouldn't Use Link he is very low tier and ... takes to long to attack, falls to quicky and is very techy...which is never good in double matches

hmm... I always thought Diddy Kong would be a good compliment...
his speed and shorter range combat would be very helpful to samus' long range..., plus its easier to spam around him because of his size...
also Zairs AND bananas.... need I say more. Spam ftw. His bananas effectively are under all of your spams, yet another roadblock in approaching.
Plus who wouldn't want to set up a free charge shot on a tripped opponent? Diddy Kong definitely gets my vote :D

Samus and Donkey Kong. Samus doesn't have great kill moves, but Donkey Kong can cover that. Samus is great for mid- and long-range attack, while Donkey Kong is good in close-combat. What is more, Donkey Kong has excellent range with his f-tilt and d-tilt.
If Samus can charge up her Charge Shot and fill up Mr. Game & Watch's Oil Panic, then these two make a great team. Otherwise, Zero Suit Samus and Mr. Game & Watch would do better. Simply pull out Oil Panic and let ZSS use her d-smash three times.ExCeL 52 said:

I guess almost any character flaws can be ironed out given nine years.

i really like to team with MK, he is small easy to keep a long rang game and can handle 2v1 if necesary, downthrow you can big blase during mks and just hit the enemy its hot. Dk is fun because he covers similar things to mk but can cargo downthrow into a spike off the edge at any percent its really good. I really like wario though, hes small, fast, kills, combos, and never dies. HOTSTUFF

A great conversation filler at bars and parties
DK gets hit by missiles and zair too easily. I like being with Wario. Why? Because Wario is awesome. Amazing fsmash, aerial control, blah blah blah.... you get the idea after watching a video of a good Wario user.

as long as you keep to the center of the map and dont shoot missles when dk is standing medium distance away your fine and he has AMAZEING kill and team combo potential

Not TheKO's Mario. Tudor and TheKO make a great team.
Yah TheKO is an amazing partner! Too bad no vids got recorded of me and Leoftw's wario though, we have yet to be defeated a set by anyone... and everytime we teamed we got 1st (3 times now i think). Some great great stuff ^^

Hm i played with Mario CFalcon Samus/ZSS Falco in teams.
And they all worked out pretty good. They were all players i played alot with so it didnt really matter which character they used. The best i think was cfalcon falco and mario

Okay here's what I think, it doesn't matter who compliments Samus. Because Samus compliments everyone. She's just a crazy good support character.
Though I do agree with you that Samus is a good support character, you seem to miss the point. It is obvious I would think that Samus is not perfect. She lacks specific abilities that other characters posses. Having said this, which character do you believe best compliments Samus, or which character dose Samus best compliment? Surely you have a more specific opinion as to which character fits this description best.
