Hmm, well I dunno if I'd be that sure. If we do get an actual Pokemon newcomer and Sakurai prioritizes Mewtwo and the other Brawl vets above Jigglypuff, it's possible she could get cut, she was on the chopping block last time. Personally I don't see it happening, but if any of the Poke veterans had to go (other than Pichu) Jiggs would be my guess.

Is Peach the only character so far to be revealed without a "cause"? If so, I could see Zelda, a FE character, Yoshi, or perhaps Dedede/MK being shown off.

I never thought the announcement would be today, but I figured we'd get it Monday. I suppose it's possible they could skip X/Y, for whatever reason. Maybe no other Pokemon character is quite ready to be revealed? Although that does sound a little farfetch'd.

Alright, I think that there are several newcomers that have a good chance of being announced.
Mii because Wii Party U.
Pac-Man because Ghostly Adventures.
Little Mac because obvious.
Takamaru because same.
King K Rool just because, should wait until E3 though.
Ridley can happen at any second.

Yeah, so far Peach has been the only such character. I'm sure we're gonna get something to hype up Super Mario 3D World, whether a stage, some pictures, or something on character pages of Mario and/or Peach.

Yoshi will likely be saved for Yoshi's NEW Island.


As for Fire Emblem characters, eh, something like that could likely happen sometime early next year. I still think a Fire Emblem character is gonna be held onto for the promos for STxFE.

As for Zelda, the release date of A Link Between Worlds (which is in't too far off, except in Japan, where it will be released the day after Christmas) seems to be the best bet.

As for Dedede and Meta Knight, next year.

Again, Sakurai and co. gotta space out the reveals! I mean, we're probably going to have around 20 confirmed characters by the end of this year, so you gotta figure the development team wanna save about 30 character reveals for next year!

I'm ganna keep my hopes up and say Sakurai wanted to let y'all down so no one would expect a surprise announcement aka the REAL pic of the day of a brand new character with poster and video and everything, shown off at Comic-Con I guess. Mewtwo or Kalos Pokemon Trainer, or maybe someone else new. We haven't seen another newcomer since Wii Fit Trainer, so we can't say we know what pattern we're supposed to follow. Newcomers are likely to be revealed only at special events like E3 or Comic-con! So today, or tomorrow, I guess Mewtwo or Kalos Pokemon Trainer will show up.
Y'all keep your hopes down like Sakurai wants, I don't want you to be hurt again just in case XD

You know, Little Mac might actually get saved for a reveal of a new potential Punch-Out!! game for the 3DS or Wii U.

I didn't know about Deity getting banned... Huh.

Perma-banned.

Peach was revealed on the anniversary of super Mario bros. which led some to believe that veterans could be revealed on anniversaries.

Like I said, Ridley's or Zero Suit Samus' reveal for March 19th, 2014 (the 20th Anniversary of Super Metroid) would be legit.

Also, Metroid Prime's 11th Anniversary (in North America) is on the 17th of November. Especially Ridley.

That would give the best (or 2nd best to Super Mario Bros. 3) Nintendo single-player game of all-time the props it deserves as the King of the Mountain.

Oh, and a lot of games have anniversaries in the middle of November, especially Donkey Kong. DKC1-3, DK64, and DKC Returns all came out literally within about 5 days of the same date as one another.

Aha, I agree with ya totally. Kalos Pokemon Trainer though I think. But I hope Mewtwo... anyway yeah, they have to have a Pokemon newcomer. Otherwise they would have kept the warning for Sonic, but it's gone, ready to show up for someone else. If it was just a veteran we would have seen them by now. So yeah, new pokemon character tonight. My hopes are UP.

And yeah, Little Mac is ridiculously likely to be a newcomer IMO, so such an idea would be a great idea for cutting a promo. We could start with a Little Mac in Punch-Out!! U, and then cut to him beating up everyone in Smash!!!

Oh... sorry guys! No Pokemon today. I just got back from school, so... yeah. There is still an off chance we see it at Nintendo World tonight, but I have doubts. Still, gives people hype.
