I do not recall even mentioning a desire for Chrom as a playable character (and in fact even stated I would desire Roy over Chrom) or even that he has a potential moveset that would differentiate from Marth or Ike. I would prefer if you can at least properly address my statement correctly. My memory only recalls calling out the fallacious move-set double-standard that certain Roy-supporters use against Chrom-supporters - namely, Chrom is a questionable character inclusion because he would be a potential clone, but Roy is acceptable even though he could also be a potential clone.

Never-mind the social Smashboards stigma against semi-clones (correct me if I'm wrong), I cannot see why even being a semi-clone is detrimental to a character's chance in the first place. Both Chrom and Roy, even if they were semi-clones, would still be available for Masahiro Sakurai's character selection process. Why both opposing sides use the "we don't need semi-clones" argument against each other's characters, but then defend their own characters being semi-clones, I do not even understand.

Just so we can be as clear as crystal, I am not a Chrom-supporter, so do not place me within that encampment.
Says he doesn't support Chrom. Supports Chrom. LOL

I never gave him five movesets? There's not even two complete movesets there.

If you want the abridged, then here.

Sword/Falchion: Focuses more so on strength and durability. Higher weight and greater healing, short range.

Lance/Spear: Focuses more on reach and spacing. Lower weight, less healing, includes a projectile.

Nifty things can happen when the sets are linked together in sequence, perhaps even setting up inter-stance combos. Chrom would not be "five in one." He'd be one character with a few different moves depending on an input.
I think it was the Anna moveset where they gave her a completely new moveset for 3 or 4 weapons. I read it off to Habanero, augusto, and Manly this weekend and we chuckled at how terrible it was. It functioned where the down B changed the weapon, and all the moves changed!!!

Seriously, that's 3 or 4 characters in one on a worthless character like Anna (or at least I think it was Anna). Nobody wants that, sans Anna's 10 devout fans.

was hoping my post would have gotten more attention just for the last part
I would assume the Roy supporters support Mewtwo and vice verse while the Chrom supporters are for Lucario again vice verse

Hey, makes sense to me

I normally think you're a bit odd in your choices, but I have to agree there. There's been a character that could be considered a "history" character in both Brawl and Melee, so why wouldn't it happen again?
It definitely will happen again, only question which historical Nintendo character will it be.

That's what I thought at first. That's what a lot of people thought.
Then they saw this beautiful trailer. Many opinions were changed.
Well that trailer I agree is one thing that Nintendo NAILLLLLLLLEEEEEDDDDD!!!! Like OUT OF THE PARK!!!

Nintendo should do more crazy over the top trailers like that which make you scream "WANT! WANT! WANT". Bring in that childlike state of mind where you say "gotta have it, gotta have it, gotta have it," not "looks average" (see: The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword advertisements... and final product).

Ah, okay. Yeah, in that case, that moveset would just be disjointed due to the amount of overkill. But yeah, this would be a switch between two weapons, not an entire army's worth. :p

Marth, Roy and Ike for the Fire Emblem reps. And this is coming from someone who liked Awakening!

If Wolf doesn't get cut why would anybody? People acting like he'd get in before Lucario & Ike makes me laugh my tush off.

@John

I still think 9-Volt would be a more sensible Wario Ware character.
I think you mean me.

But it's all personal opinion. 9-Volt has certainly been in there longer, that's why he's more sensible, as are Mona and Jimmy T.

But Ashley has a huge amount of popularity on her side. So Sakurai could go one of two routes, IMO.

Quick miscellaneous question:

If there was a single character(s)'s reveal which would build the most anticipatory excitement within you, which character(s) would that be?
Anything to piss off a ton of people.

Really though, my most wanted character left is Ridley followed by K. Rool, followed by Mewtwo. Isaac would be nice as well.

After that, I just want all of the unconfirmed Brawl characters back. Maybe Roy, too.

After that, I don't care, although Shulk would be nice (although I haven't played Xenoblade Chronicles).

-Pichu: A ultimate gamble character; high risk, high reward. Oh, and don't be a super clone.
I love this idea so much that I can't express it in words
I like most of your other ideas but I think Yoshi should keep his up B and maybe just improve his normal jumps the egg throw is Yoshis signature move for games outside of smash

i'm bored of Mewtwo vs Lucario and Roy vs Chrom arguments lets change it up
Fire Emblem vs Pokemon which series is the better RPG :smirk:
in before earthbound

also this
Roy/Chrom fans which of these 2 Pokemon do you support
Mewtwo/Lucario fans which of these 2 FE do yo usupport
We Lucario fans have worked our or differences with the mewtwo fans we just can't stand to see the other one when it comes to a smash disscusion most of the times and I choose / as the best lord and new FE rep out of the three.

Because Wolf isn't as lackluster as Lucario, and he's a lot more fun to play as. Lucario in Brawl felt pretty generic, and that aura system was a terrible idea.

Still, Lucario can EASILY, EASILY, EASILY be fixed; just look at some things Project M did to Lucario, and you can make him amazing.

Ike though... that's funny. Ike should never be cut under any circumstances. There's too much potential there, a lot of which was (partially) realized in Brawl.

I know. I disagree.
I think Fire Emblem is great though. I just like Pokémon better.
I don't even know why I said it, FE and Pokémon both have their merits, and there will be many different opinions.
Honest, they're two completely different games that are very difficult to compare.
Pokemon and FE are honestly way too different to compare in a fair fashion. It's like comparing Smash to street fighter or something along those line but not that specific example. It really depends on what style you like better.

Can't let you do that, StarFox
That's actually the one point that always works!

I'm sorry, did cuts just suddenly become a matter of who is more fun to play as?

1. And is there ANY proof that it was because Sakurai didn't like how his moveset turned out?
He was the only totally original character in Melee cut. That seems to strongly hint at it, or at least, it doesn't help.
2. Dude the fact that Sakurai was willing to put the time and effort into changing Bowser up to me communicates that they are PERFECTLY willing to fix movesets like those
I didn't say Sakurai shouldn't do that. I'm just stating facts.

And the fact is that it is easier to add a character that needs minimal fixing than one who needs to be revamped.

There, no cuts, Lucario's back, and it's now 48 characters so everyone can live happily ever after. :p
The best part about this roster is that there's no Krystal. You did good Hotfeet444:awesome:

Well with Pichu, you can give it tons of combos that can chase foes off the screen, but keep it as an easy to kill foe. That would be pretty unique, and quite frankly, would make an entire match intense, because comebacks theoretically could happen a lot easier either way.

As for Yoshi, I also meant by that as in adding a longer jump, kinda like a hybrid of what Luigi seems to have with his jumps in Smash Wii U and 3DS on that recent update, or like Peach's floating. You know, kinda like what Yoshi does in Super Mario Galaxy 2 and Super Mario Sunshine.

Seriously, cutting a character because of a perfectly fine move set you don't prefer as much as a less essential and iconic character who's move set is only a little better by sole determination of opinion?

Baby Daisy confirmed.
Because Pac-Man wasn't enough.

Yes, it was Mewtwo's moveset that got him cut, despite the fact that both he and Jigglypuff had the proverbial axe over their heads with evidence pointing towards their decreased marketability as the culprit.

BUT MUH CORN. MUH INVITITIABLE. MUH REPLACEMENTZ.
LOL  logic of the Chromosexuals: Chrom is the most interesting character in Fire Emblem history JUST BECAUSE. Marth Ike and Roy are the most boringest characters JUST BECAUSE. Lol  just because. that's really the only argument. Just because

You know, when it comes to characters like that, I don't even begin to guess who they'd put in. I would have never guessed Game and Watch, there is about a 0.01% chance I could have guessed ROB, I don't know who will be the next one, assuming there will be a next one.

WFT was certainly not the only surprise character, so I can see them add someone else. And I'll accept them, I mean I love R.O.B. and Game&Watch, so I'll be perfectly fine with whoever they pick.

I'm thinking more in terms of "cut (parts of) the moveset" than cut the characters. Still, if in theory a character is bad and can't be improved (much), I'm okay with cutting them, but given how good the roster is, I don't see anyone like that, except possibly Dr. Mario.

Even there, a ton of people have several movesets for him that change him completely.

Wolf is the main villain of Star Fox I get that pokemon is a more important series then Star Fox and all that but if we're arguing importance to their own series I'd say Wolf technically has a LOT more going for him.

People did want him cut because of his crappy moveset. I'm pretty certain Sakurai knew that, but I highly doubt he would ever cut someone because of that. I think he was just simply outprioritized.
