Man, Kyle Hebert has voiced in a lot of awesome stuff. Dragon Ball, Street Fighter, and even Megaman to name a few.

@BluePikmin11, Well, yeah. We haven't even seen what Yarn Yoshi would be able to do that's different from his normal counterpart yet. Besides, If go with a yarn character why not just use Prince Fluff or something?
I'm willing to bet that Yoshi's tongue will be used to pull certain triggers like Yarn Kirby.

That leads me to another reason why he's lame, on Return to Dreamland his spear is just a worse version of Kirby's.

No,you are wrong again,Why?
Because Kirby's and Waddle Dee's spear ability is exactly the same, but with two exceptions that makes Bandana Dee better.
1.Bandana Dee is not floaty like kirby,It's slighty faster in the air .
2.Bandana Dee doesn't lose his spear ability like Kirby.
I win. XD

Has anybody noticed that the Mario Pokemon and zelda franchises all have cartoon versions of themselves? Mario has paper Pokemon has rumble toys and Zelda has toon I think that's pretty awesome.

Guys, question time:

Blaziken. Thoughts?
A cool Pokemon, but unlikely to get in.

Kirby also has yarn versions of themselves. :troll:

Kyle Hebert? I know that he's the VA who did the voice of Ryu in Street Fighter 4 and also did the voices of Frederick and Validar in Fire Emblem: Awakening.

Am I the only one that reads the credits after finishing a game? I think it's interesting that there are so many people involved in the production of a video game.
I almost forgot he voiced Fredrick, especially considering Fredrick was probably the most quotable character in the game."Pick a God and Pray" after all.

And no, you're not the only one to read the credits. Kind of like how the Avatar is voiced by David Vincent for Voice #1, Michelle Ruff is the first voice for the Female avatar (The Voice of Yoko and Crimson Viper), Lissa is voiced by Kate Higgins, Tharja is voiced by Stephanie Sheh, and of course Lucina is voiced by Laura Bailey (The Voice of Chun-Li)

Not to mention Anna and Olivia are voiced by Karen Strassmen, the current voice of Poison Kiss and Rouge the Bat. Also, Emmeryn is voiced by Erin Fitzgerald, the voice of Parasol in Skullgirls and a TON of other animes appearances. In short, there's alot of recognizable people in Awakening.

I remember months back that Matthew Mercer claimed he hasn't been asked to voice Chrom in Smash yet. This was a while after the roster should be finalized.

Unexpected, but by no means impossible. Especially with the shiny Torchic being circulated, hes the only starter from that gen that got a Mega evolution (I think)

Being a starter, he could be included with another trainer type character, but thats not likely either

I think you're on to something considering every character gets their own trailer. Good, work.
I realize Wii Fit-Trainer is a hint to that, but don't forget to keep in mind that it isn't 100% confirmed and that there are videos like the Developer Direct.

The roster is finalized.

But that doesn't mean they've done voice work yet.

You're trying to connect two things that aren't actually connected.

I love it when people make a paragraph of themselves proving wrong stuff that I never implied or said.
Stop pointing out obvious things I'm fully aware of as if I'm stupid, just because you thought I thought something based on your assumption of what was implied by vague comments.

Uh, okay? If you already know all of that, why do you still say he's such an important part of Nintendo's history?

• You say Sheriff doesn't fit the criteria for Smash based on your own opinion and that you have to have a fanbase to get in.
Well no, I said that there is nothing to benefit from adding him because the character is incredibly insignificant and doesn't seem to add much to the roster.
• When I said he fits the same criteria I mean he's the best unexpected throwback character unrelated to NES.
Surprise characters are not limited to being retro, I mean did you seriously expect Wii Fit Trainer? Of course not, nobody did.
That's not entirely true either, R.O.B. is related to the NES. So that blows a whole out of that logic.
• Jumpman sounds like an occupation entirely considering he's a man who jumps. Just like a man who repairs. So I guess Ice Climber is not a character, ammirite? So yeah, Sheriff is the first Nintendo Character.
I SUPPOSE you have a point there with the names, but Sheriff still isn't the first Nintendo character. Please stop saying he is.
• When did I say I was smarter. You need to stop looking into insults and claims that aren't there and then complaining about it. A good example would be this entire post.
I'm not entirely sure what you mean here, it would have helped if you didn't decide to turn my entire argument against into three words suggesting that I had no idea what I was talking about.
• Sheriff represents the arcade alone. He's not just a character who had a few arcade games yet mostly represents a series outside the arcade.
If that is the case, what makes the Arcade out prioritize the Gameboy? Or the Super Nintendo? Or even the Virtual Boy? At least those are actual Nintendo consoles and would fit more into Nintendo's history, being directly related to the company.
• Yes, a guy who makes fun of you for being okay with Semi-Clones is a nice guy when you get to know him.
If you keep pushing your ideas into other peoples' heads you start to push people into disliking you. You got to that point when you first joined the forum, so you've only got yourself to blame for that.
• So I guess King Kong is more important than Kirby. I mean he led to the creation of Donkey Kong otherwise Kirby wouldn't have existed.
Of course that is implying King Kong had anything to do with Donkey Kong outside of the lawsuit.
• So Sheriff isn't important even though he's the first Nintendo Character as well as the first Miyamoto character who solely represents the arcade and had 3 cameos as appose to 1? And no he's not as obscure as you make him out to be.
Oh yes, certainly.
The previously debunked First Nintendo character is suddenly not obscure because of three minor cameos. I'm not sure if you understand the meaning of obscure. Because if you literally think I could just a random person with any general video game knowledge who the Sheriff is and expect them to respond with "That Nintendo character from that arcade game" you are seriously mistaken. He might not be obscure to Smash speculators, but it's a completely different ballgame outside of these boards.
• Card Games & Cartoon Characters are not considered important to Sakurai mind you. Regardless of what they are responsible for.
Of course, you do know the man and talk to him avidly.
That doesn't mean I support Popeye or a Hanafuda styled character, but they sure as hell make a lot more sense than the Sheriff.
Also

"Sheriff is a game with a particularly long history, even among other classic Nintendo arcade games." - Melee Trophy Data
If you're going to resort to the description of a collectable item from Melee (A game released in 2001) as a reason to explain why Sheriff is important in 2012, I think we're done here.

EDIT: Poor Gumshoe. Can't even say his first name on the internet.

Speaking of characters and voice actors, do you think that Marth will have an English voice this time, since one of his games has been released outside of Japan?

I know that there was a FE OVA that was cancelled after 2 episodes that had an English dub. In fact, Marth's Smash voice is done by the same VA that did the anime voice (in Japanese). I did some research and found out that who voiced Marth in that OVA in English was Spike Spencer, who worked on Fire Emblem: Awakening as the voice of Excellus (that creepy mage villain that looks like a woman who serves Walhart).

To quote on Saturn's statement on Hanafuda characters, they were the first products to ever be made by Nintendo.

So Hanafuda does have a good impact on Nintendo to warrant a character of some sort.

Wait a second...Marth was voiced by SPIKE SPENCER?! Wow, that's some news to me. I can't believe one of the few english voice actors for Marth is the same guy who voiced...this...

Wait, is that some kind of leak or something?
Or was it in response to a "Is Chrom in Smash" question?
The latter.

The actor said he'd love to, but he hasn't been asked yet.

Of course, this could simply mean they haven't done English voice work yet.

Nope, not really. But I think some Hanafuda content such as trophies or something like that would be neat.

He also voiced THIS in Awakening:

He could be the voice of Marth in the new Smash, given that he's appeared in international games already.

I also wouldn't mind if they found another voice actor for Ike. His English VA was kind of mediocre in all of his appearances.

But nothing could be worse than this (starts around 2:58):
SPOILERS FOR FIRE EMBLEM: RADIANT DAWN!

Guys, any tips for making a thread?
Search with your life because if one exists already, it'll be locked. And make the mods mad.
Also, just think about a topic, then make sure it would warrant its own thread, instead of just being something that could be discussed elsewhere (ie an example of a pointless thread being, the DK moveset thread when it already exists, or could just be discussed in the DK discussion thread).

How DARE you cut Lucario and Lucas and keep Snake.
Tell me then why should I need to keep Lucas and Lucario? Or better why do you think Sakurai will cut one of the most difficult and time consuming characters that he work so hard to implement into smash and has largest fanbase in Smash community than Lucas and Lucario.

Drops of Persona VAs:
Michelle Ruff voiced Yukari from P3
Laura Bailey voiced Rise from P4
Karen Strassmen voiced Aigis from P3 and Nanako from P4
Erin Fitzgerald voiced Chie in P4G and P4A
Tara Platt voiced Mitsuru from P3

And there are some more I'm forgetting, and I'm pretty sure Dan Worren voiced Virion. FE:A had some pretty good VAs, and I would be fine with seeing them in Smash.
