Technically speaking anyone can know what Nintendo is, but there is a difference from knowing just Mario and knowing about Mario plus about 30 other franchises Nintendo has produced over the years. This is kind of a pro and a con in the context of Super Smash Bros., knowing what the general audience knows about is always a plus for any crossover because people automatically are familiar with what is presented; hence why the first Super Smash Bros. focused on only the most well known characters of Nintendo barring Ness and arguably Captain Falcon. But at the same time you cannot simply rely on what is familiar to the general public because it causes limitations, in that case you have to start being experimental with varies lesser known figures and pick which ones would create notability. But of course you have to balance the obscure with the familiar in order to create an ideal balance to satisfy everyone.I've found as a general rule, you can get a general gist of how big a Nintendo fan is by how many 3rd Party predictions they have for Smash.

I hate to say it but you're going to be frowned upon a good majority of the users here for that post.
Welcome to SmashBoards anyways! :D
It depends. In the context of notability, it can be argued that R.O.B. and Mr. Game & Watch are more notable then Pit and Ice Climbers in terms of the history provided. If we're talking about a character that could be on par with R.O.B. and Mr. Game & Watch in terms of legacy, there wouldn't really be anything of note.Retros can totally make notability.

I will say that is probably the main strength when it comes to these characters is that there is both characters we know and love, but also introducing stuff we didn't even know we were going to love.
It's probably contributed to Nintendo being abnormally cautious when it comes to their franchises. While Nintendo is not going towards the same route SEGA is going with only focusing on the Sonic the Hedgehog franchise, Nintendo is still one of those companies that likes to play it safe and would prefer to stick with the franchises that are familiar with the general public. This is why Nintendo tends to focus heavily on stuff like Super Mario Bros. because they know it will sell, while other franchises don't get the same treatment and might suffer from it. Others might get inconsistent localization, poor advertising, awkward distribution, poor reception, and so on, and may get cause long hiatuses or getting canned altogether because of it. This is why Nintendo has produced many franchises over the years, but only a select few are still around. The problem I have is, I got into Smash due to it being essentially a celebration of Nintendo but there are casuals who see it more as just a cross-over fighter for anyone. The more smash fans the better but the naivety of some is frightening. I know Sakurai doesn't listen to them but given the amount of contact anyone can have with Sakurai these days you can't help but have worries at the back of your mind.

This is why I theorize that Xenoblade Chronicles and Operation Rainfall might be a wake up call to Nintendo that people don't want to be cheated out of something new and fresh, and may a contribution to better advertisement and localization down the line.

Zoroark and Krystal don't really have a chance, at all.I think: rob, snake, lucas, ike, wolf, lucario and pkm trainer, will be out but Zoroark, Krystal and another Fire Emblem character will be in, maybe another pkm trainer generation...
yeah. had sixth gen been put off a little longer then maybe Zoroark would of had a good shot. but at this point he's kind of irrelevant. and Krystal, she could make it. not as a replacement but possibly a fourth character. unlikely but possible.Zoroark and Krystal don't really have a chance, at all.
Krystal...maybe. Zoroark however is irrelevant now, and really he only ever was relevant in the beginning of Gen 5, and his popularity isn't as big as Mewtwo and Lucario, both characters who are STILL relevant and STILL very popular.yeah. had sixth gen been put off a little longer then maybe Zoroark would of had a good shot. but at this point he's kind of irrelevant. and Krystal, she could make it. not as a replacement but possibly a fourth character. unlikely but possible.
exactly. really Zoroark ever had on its side was recency. now that's out the window so... yeahKrystal...maybe. Wolf is all but five moves away from being completely unique, and being female does not give Krystal any sort of advantage. Plus, there's also nothing guaranteeing that Krystal's moveset wouldn't be based off of Fox's, either.Well if I am right (and I dont want to lose wolf and lucario becaus those are characters that I use) if my prediction is right I think Star Fox need more than just 2 characters, so if wolf is out Krystal is a female character and has a diferent setmove for star fox serie and from pkm I think the last pkm movie star is the most probale character, thanks for reply
Zoroark isnt the star of the last movie tho. Mewtwo and Genesect are. and as for Krystal, being female is not an advantage. Wolf is a more liked character than her.Well if I am right (and I dont want to lose wolf and lucario becaus those are characters that I use) if my prediction is right I think Star Fox need more than just 2 characters, so if wolf is out Krystal is a female character and has a diferent setmove for star fox serie and from pkm I think the last pkm movie star is the most probale character, thanks for reply
so genesect and mewtwoand from pkm I think the last pkm movie star is the most probale character
Being female doesn't really mean much, it's never really helped a character really get in. Really, Krystal only has her moveset potential as a plus, otherwise she loses out in all other aspects to Wolf and Falco, who are much more popular and notable in their franchise then her.Well if I am right (and I dont want to lose wolf and lucario becaus those are characters that I use) if my prediction is right I think Star Fox need more than just 2 characters, so if wolf is out Krystal is a female character and has a diferent setmove for star fox serie and from pkm I think the last pkm movie star is the most probale character, thanks for reply
Mewtwo yes, and I think it'll be either Genesect or Lucario for the fifth pokemon rep.so genesect and mewtwo
safer bet on Lucario. as of right now he's a more popular pokemon than Genesect.Mewtwo yes, and I think it'll be either Genesect or Lucario for the fifth pokemon rep.

Hinted? Kind of. He's mentioned him, but hardly hinted at him. I really am expecting him though, he's starring in yet another movie, has a new form, is practically being pushed as the Gen 6 poster boy, and like I said, has been mentioned by Sakurai.Sakurai has hinted that he may include Mewtwo in the next SSB,
It's characters who I think have a chance to be included, and thanks! I have WAY too much time on my hands to create a list of 105 characters......Welcome to Smashboards! We have everything you need to speculate to your hearts content. If you have any questions, feel free to ask myself or anyone else with a red sign that reals "moderator" under his or her avatar.
As for that huge list, are those characters you thinl have potential to be in Snash bros, characters you would like to see included, or characters to believe will be included? This is the right forum of them regardless.
If you want to create a thread, please look at the Character Discussion Guidelines and Listings.

Have fun!
Nobody is really saying this, on the contrary due to statements people are doubtful towards the inclusion of Sukapon.Everyone says Sukapon has a chance of getting in. How is this? Hasn't he appeared in only 1 game? + as a sticker in Brawl? What's special about him?
No one really says that anymore, but when people do bring up Sukapon they usually use his popularity and history as Nintendo's first traditional fighting game (Urban Champion is... debatable) as points in his favour, even though his popularity has long since decreased to pretty low levels. They probably just want to see him included, and I don't blame them. Since technically he could get in as a retro, he doesn't need more than one game, but considering Sakurai said not to expect him in the future of Smash and he's only had a Japan-only release, his chances are pretty dismal atm.Everyone says Sukapon has a chance of getting in. How is this? Hasn't he appeared in only 1 game? + as a sticker in Brawl? What's special about him?
Changed up my roster a bit:
-Palutena is back
-Falco is back, replacing Krystal
-DLC lineup changed up a bit, Wonder Red moved to DLC lineup.
Thoughts?
If there was to be a couple of DLC characters, these would be my choices. Not that it is confirmed.DLC? this has been confirmed or just part of your prediction?
