If we cant decide on which hitmon we want, we could always keep the unreplaceble fighting type we already have.

I'm not a huge Lucario fan at all but the very replaceable. Lucario is far more likely and a hitmon probably has as good of a chance as say, Omastar regardless of Lucario.

Well logically speaking they try (and fail) to pass them off as an equal trio so having bias towards one would be both unlikely and unreasonable (I guess it's the same deal for Kabutops vs Omastar.) Same deal with blaziken.

My reaction to the latter question-

Too much of the same Pokemon species. I'd rather have Mewtwo, Lucario, and Plusle & Minun. (I highly doubt we'll be getting that many Pokemon though...at least for Smash 4)

He has NEVER taken two characters with the same body type and shape and given them two completely different movesets.

Besides a difference in jumps, and maybe some slings and certain other attacks that abuse the fact that she has a difference from Diddy, (hair) I see no ability for her to NOT be a clone while staying true to the Donkey Kong series. She has enough potential to be a semi clone.
(P.S. Noah....don't talk to me about rookie mistakes. Just don't.)

That said I like clones. I'm all for as many characters as possible, and if that means clones so be it.
But **** Dixie Kong, straight up. Donkey Kong does not need 3 playable protagonists when there is an antagonist that is more suitable for smash bros. in the first place.


Also, if we get another tiny Pikachu clone, I would fully support Plusle and Minun.

There was one of those articles the other day about which SSB4 characters should stay and which ones should go. Lucario was one of the ones cut, and if I recall, the guy wanted him to be replaced with Hitmonlee...

Oh, and he wanted Dr. Mario to return, but said nothing about Young Link, Roy, or Pichu.

I still think Isaac has poopy chances but decided on why the **** not and just added him cause I felt like it. And I needed to him to balance out a certain something. :L

Totodil > Squirtle, Grovyle > Ivysaur, Charizard > all. Don't like that reasoning? Well do you think I give a damn what you like or dislike? Also multi-gen Trainer is jsut a better idea over single gen trainer and makes the people complaining about gen 1 over repping a bit happier, till they find something else to complain about at least.

Cuts explanation:

Wolf: Starfox has alot of reps, and wolf was the mkst recent addition. I know hes more unique, but I think Falco is more likely and they will luigify him more.

Lucario: most recent addition, and with the mention of mewtwo in that conference, it seems like he has gained some attention. If they cut anyone from pokemon, its gonna be lucario or PT, so I picked Lucario

Ike: I hate saying this, but FE has a tendency to keep Marth and update the 2nd char with each installment. Ike could be replaced by Chrom.

Snake: I think he was a one time deal, but he could also return. 2 3rd parties is plenty in this cut roster.

Reasons for adding:

Bowser jr: We may get a Mario newcomer, and it seems to be between toad and him, so I picked BJ.

King k rool: Between him and Dixie, I think it gonna be him, but Dixie is good too.

Mewtwo: I feel like sakurai wouldnt have mentioned him for no reason when the question wasnt directed at him.

Chrom: see Ike

Little mac: hes been with nintendo for a while, and the boxing ring just fits.

Shulk: I have the feeling that Shulk, Saki and Isaac are fighting for 1 or 2 spots. They seem similar in appearance, so all 3 wont be in. I picked Shulk to be in, as well as Saki.

Takamaru: he seems to be the choice for a retro character, and the nintendo land appearance may help his chance.

Saki: see Shulk

Mii: coming in on the wii era, and making cameos in alot of games, it might be repped in the game

For your Fire Emblem reasoning, Marth, Ike, and Roy were meant to coexist in Melee. Not to mention, there would be sheer chaos if Ike was cut, considering he's a very well-liked Smash character. Plus, he's still heavily promoted by Intelligent Systems, as well. In other words, I definitely feel Fire Emblem warrants (at least) three characters, all things considered. So I'd re-add Ike in addition to Marth and Chrom.

That would mean either putting back Toon Link and taking out another vet, to keep it balanced in my mind, or a newcomer Zelda rep which would mean taking out Isaac, and I don't want to hear people complaining about lack of Isaac right now. :L I guess I could take out Jiggs put in Victini and see how that looks and then put back Toon Link. Victini is also the cutest Pokemon ever so I could live with that. :L

Nothing's stopping you from killing the Random spot.

Random slot is most important slot for any roster out there and any roster without it = instant 0/10.

If you're going to let Mario have 5 characters you should at the very least keep Lucario and add Mewtwo.

Otherwise I find it a very fair roster, even considering the cuts (However I think cutting Wolf is a nono).

Honestly Wolf and Falco are both 50/50 for one to get cut, so it jsut comes down to preference of which one you want to keep and cut.

Ike chances really aren't that high, he is still loved as a Smash character and is still being pushed by IS.

Since you have a 45 roster slot Mario really shouldn't get a new rep, 4 is fine. And Sakurai has said he doesn't want to over rep Mario to much.

I actually prefer my no cuts roster, not only for the sake of not offending somebody, but it allows me to add characters that maybe aren't so obvious and allows me to be creative.

Also some characters had to go because this is a cut roster, and those are some of the ones that are possibly going to happen. I dont want wolf out but he seems more likely to leave than Falco IMO.

If this was a no cut roster, Ike would be there as well. Chrom and Ike are interchangeable at this point.

Mario is the largest series, and they did have 5 characters in melee without others having 5,so its very possible.

PT seems too unique to scrap,and I know Lucario isnt a mewtwo clone, I just have a feeling that if they had to choose, mewtwo is more significant

The sad truth is that there is probably gonna be one shot characters, and people are gonna be upset. That is innevitable and sakurai said it himself. Sakurai is gonna cut the ones that are come-and-gone characters and the ones that arent important. I dunno, I dont like cuts either but its the reality of the situation.

Seriously, the amount of people I see labelling their roster as a no-cuts roster as if that's a positive thing (just because it won't offend people). Calling it a 'no-cuts roster' is pretty much the nice way of saying 'completely unrealistic roster'. People need to stop frolicking around trying to make rosters that won't offend people, and start making roster predictions. Characters will be cut. Roster predictions should reflect this.

-no toon link cut
-wolf instead of falco, even though falco's more of a clone
-Ike being cut by "pattern". it's not a pattern if it only happened for one game.
-cutting lucario so pkmn only has 4 reps, but adding one to mario anyways.

I wouldn't be so sure - Sonic's a Nintendo-exclusive for the next year or so, what with Lost World (both versions), the new Mario & Sonic (again, both Wii U and 3DS) and an unannounced third game in this Nintendo/Sega partnership. Now I don't want to pull out my tin-foil hat and start with the wild speculations, but it's certainly no stretch at all to assume that this unannounced title is Smash Bros.

Of course, nobody said every single character was going to be scrapped for ****s and giggles, but when the very director is warning everyone that cuts are a possible factor then yes at least one character is guaranteed to not return. My money is on Jigglypuff and Toon Link at the moment.

Toon Link I see only getting cut if Sakurai decides to replace him with another child Link like Young Link or Worlds Link or if time constraints gets the best of him since he's likely at the back of the queue again.

As for Jigglypuff, yeah same thing, she's probably a last minute addition again but definitely at the front at least. Unless she gets confirmed when X and Y comes out.
