That doesnt really mean anything though, King Boo's might be a mushroom too... I mean what are they gonna do draw a mansion icon on there for luigi...

They gave Yoshi an Egg, and he's still a Mario character at heart.

Unless Luigi or King Boo or whatever gets a different symbol, they are direct Mario characters as far as Smash is concerned, regardless of what they "represent".

Yoshi is pretty much his own series in icon only. The game takes too much from the main Mario franchise to truly feel like a separate franchise, unlike WarioWare.
And since Yoshi and a majority of the series' characters are also prominent in the Mario games....yeah....it's really just including another Mario character disguised as a character from a "different" series unless it's someone like Poochy, but who really wants Poochy?

I vouch for Poochy as an Assist Trophy.

I predict that there's going to be at least one major upset for SSB4 similar to how there were several for Brawl. I honestly think that either K. Rool or Ridley (or even both) will get snubbed for some random reason. I'd like for both to get in but I'm not going to get overly optimistic about either of their inclusions.

People are going to be disappointed no matter what you do. People are just simply optimistic and don't consider the possibilities that it might not come true. But in the end, it's just simply a video game.

Don't put your expectations too high, otherwise you'll get disappointed.

Besides Kamek isn't a very unique choice like Shy Guy. Shy Guy implements all his various personas while Kamek is just another magic character, like we need another. She could always use Broom as her upward special and spawn enemies, but I think Shy Guy would be cooler.

Basically Yoshi became an actual character when he appeared in Super Mario Kart, just like Shy Guy became a character when he appeared in Mario Tennis.


It was fun, but what was incredibly dissapointing was the lack of innovation, every character is a Toad or enemy and all the worlds are from New Super Mario Bros.

Also did anybody else notice that the main selling point of the game was it's biggest flaw? You gather up Stickers to fight enemies, but why do you want to fight enemies, they don't give you anything but a couple of coins that are everywhere in the first place. So basically when you choose to fight an enemy all you're doing is trading 3 Stickers and a percentage of HP, for maybe 1 Sticker and a coin or too. So you just avoid all the enemies.

I just want Paper Mario 3, no bull crap just paper mario 3 for the wii u, thats all I ask, is it really too much to ask for INTELLIGENT SYSTEMS!!!

I never said to get rid of Yoshi's symbol.
I said that Yoshi was given a different symbol to "represent" his own series despite him really just being a Mario character with a few games.

If Sakurai was doing that with the Luigi's Mansion "series", he would have given Luigi his own symbol (such as the E. Gadd face, an L with eyes, a Boo face, etc.) that would be used for anything Luigi's Mansion related, including characters like King Boo or E. Gadd if they were included.

But since he didn't, Luigi is still a direct Mario character within Smash, regardless of what representation Luigi's Mansion gets.

Honestly, I don't see what's so special about the Yoshi series that it even warrants ANOTHER representative... if anything, there are other more deserving candidates (Metroid, Donkey Kong, and even Mario) as well as newcomer series (Xenoblade or Tales, for instance) that could use more reps. Just my two cents, though.

Linderer says, but what i say, because I don't follow mainstream society - I'm a shepard, not a sheep, a leader, not a follower. Kamek has almost NO CHANCE of being a playable character. None. Why? Because there are FAR MORE DESERVING contenders than Kamek. Examples include: Ridley, King K Rool, Lloyd, Shulk, Pacman, Mewtwo, and Hell, even GENO deserves it more than Kamek. Don't let you Yoshi-esque bias for the Yoshi universe get in the way of critical thinking and logicalness. Kamek would be lucky to be an AT, let alone a playable character.

Shy Guy is a ****ing merciless SOB in Mario Party.

In the first one if you mess up he'll cut the rope and your only lifeline, then you just drift away into a boundless ocean whilst floating on your pitiful barrel. And in the second one he'll snipe your balloon so you plummet to your death if you raise the wrong color flag, the worst part is that in the second game he can juke you more than once with the flags. And when he cuts the rope or shoots down your balloon, you can briefly catch a glimpse of his emotionless face before he mercilessly kills your character.

Anyways, I'm trying not to seem single-sided, but what's with all the hate over Divine, it seems everyone of his posts gets contradicted, tbh, sure sometimes he has post most people don't agree, but it seems everyone of his posts becomes a flame war, even when it's joke... TBH, it's not all his fault, sure sometimes it could be his, but other times it's the rest but people this is a community, a forum, can we try to keep the flame wars at a minimal on this thread... That is all I have to say.

It does the discussion no good, except for allowing the precedence of everybody making jokes with each other, instead of discussing roster predictions properly. I really don't think that kamek has NO chance. probably about 35% or something. but he is the most deserving yoshi rep.

ALL RIGHT. here's the thing. I HIGHLY DOUBT that characters like Geno and Lloyd are more deserving than kamek. everyone else except for maybe pac-man SHOULD be in before Kamek. I respect that.

FYI, my most fav series isn't even yoshi. it's DKC. and then pokemon. and then smash. and then mario. THEN yoshi. I'm not THAT biased. the whole reason I even support him so much is because I think he's severely underrated.

This is why we hate you. This is one of the many reasons why we all hate you. And I feel bad for the moderators who's time is wasted every time you report someone for expressing opinion that isn't necessarily on the exact topic of it's above post.
