I didn't say that, I'm just saying his move set is pretty dumb. Butt Bouncing & Rollin? As long as a move set has moves it's basically approved by SmashBoards.

Layton over Bomberman, I'll come back later.

Would you stop gushing about Bomberman. No one else here doesn't really want him in Smash.

Yes. We just became more vocal. :troll:
Precisely.

Because we actually, you know, have faith in Sakurai to deliver decent movesets. He's done so for even the most unlikely of characters and characters with no moveset to take inspiration from (see: Captain Falcon), so we don't take much stock in the quality of fan-made movesets - since we know that regardless of the quality of said movesets, Sakurai's one will be a good one.

To put it simply, "moveset potential" is not and has never been a remotely plausible argument for or against a character. Sure, it helps - but Sakurai's criteria for decent moveset potential is nebulous and immeasurable, considering characters like Wii Fit Trainer.

Oh, and movesets are really something you have to see in action to judge. If somebody posted Wii Fit Trainers moveset three months ago, they'd get run out of town so fast they'd never come back.

pretty much this. hell if you write out characters like Mario or Marth's movesets out, they are really freaking boring by comparison to other characters.

Confirmation of Pac-Man having more requests than Bomberman
Does it honestly surprise you? Pac-Man is a gaming icon with a company actually working on Smash, which gives new hope to all his supporters and people who didn't even consider him previously, while Bomberman, granted, also a well-known gaming character, currently has no games on the horizon, no games in the last few years, his company already has a character in Smash, and they clearly don't care about him at the current time.

It surprises me because i don't see why people like Pac-Man. I remember a time when people loved Bomberman and didn't immediately abandon him when he was bought out by one of the biggest gaming companies. I also hate when people dismiss a character's impact and importance because they haven't had a game in less than 2 years, thus they immediately assume their dead and worthless. Some of the best characters are dismissed because of recency.

Bomberman hasn't released a game because Konami is still perfecting him, F*** everything Bomberman's ever done. It's just not right.

I face this all the time whenever I support Duck Hunt Dog... I believe that more people would support Duck Hunt Dog once they see him in action.

tbf tho, his last few games didnt sell all that hot anyway. they were each partially hurt due to being downloadable games exclusive to certain systems. his situation is somewhat similar to how people feel about Megaman, though no where near as big a deal, where in he may have technically been around during these last few years, the games were easy to pass up for whatever reasons. in some cases they were legitimately bad games, Bomberman Act Zero and Bomberman Touch come to mind, but for the most part people just don't care that much about him, i know the younger generation doesn't care all that much.

I don't understand why some of the more popular characters have that level of popularity either, but there's really no point in begrudging that they might have more popularity than a character you might like.

I'm not saying it's right, but recency does play a big part of popularity. And popularity does play a big part in inclusion for 3rd-parties that don't have special circumstances like Snake or possibly a Namco character. People generally like what is fresh in their mind, that's why a character's popularity will peak around when a game featuring them releases. People also aren't stupid, they recognize Bomberman's future is bleak, and even though Konami might not dismiss a hypothetical request from Sakurai, the chance that request even comes at this point is minimal. Just because Bomberman currently has less popularity than Pac-Man doesn't make Pac-Man a bad choice, really the two are unrelated.

Believe me, I was quite a staunch supporter of Bomberman for Brawl, and I'd still love to see him, but expecting him to still be able to hold a candle against the icon of the company working on Smash is a little naive.

Are we really comparing quality of games now? If quality of recent games were a factor, Sonic wouldn't have been in Brawl.

All I have to say is Bomberman is unlikely because the gaming community abandoned him off the inexplicable assumption that being bought out by a major gaming company makes him dead. And Pac-Man fans have spammed Sakurai with reqests just becaus Namco is working on the game.

Considering the paltry sales of the Bomberman franchise, I'd say the gaming community "abandoned" him long before Hudson got bought by Konami in 2011(?).

I don't believe Pac-Man World, Pac-Man Party, or Pac-Man and The Ghostly Adventures sold very well either.

Shouldn't the fact that he was bought out by a company like Konami give him hope, not abandonment.

But consider how the arcade Pac Man still sells like hotcakes in any platform it appears. Even though you could probably find the game online to play for free.

It's kind of like Tetris. They could release the same game a million times in different colors and with different music, and they'll still sell.

And then consider also Pac Man Championship DX. That thing was awesome.

Again, he wasn't "bought out".
Hudson was a subsidiary of Konami and their IPs went to Konami when they shut down.

It would be the same thing as Nintendo gaining full control over the Eggerland/Adventures of Lolo series should Hal Labs shut down.

Consider the original Bomberman downloadable games. And despite the original Pac-Man game and it's ports, Pac-Man is hardly any more washed up than Bomberman. Bomberman is just like Classic Pac-Man and Tetris. If we're going to base Pac-Man's icon on his past hits why not Bomberman? Hell Sakurai did it with Mega Man!

Ghostly Adventures hadn't come out yet, and Pac-Man World sold quite a bit, actually.
The only World that didn't do that great was World 3.
