I knew actually, it was how you unlocked them that was fun. Brawl you just glide through single player mode and get em all, it was a bummer. I wanna earn every character.

Yeah me too. Who doesn't want to not use the internet for a week and then seriously freak out and go to the bathroom 7 times every time they see a silhouette of a new character. If only they weren't so easy to guess. Because then, when you actually find out who the character is after guessing a million times, you'll have to pause to go to the bathroom even more . Seriously, no joke.

I may have not been the biggest fan of that movie, but that was easily my favorite scene. I can't help but seeing the rendition with Sony, Microsoft, Nintendo, and Ubisoft that I saw on Tumblr after E3 2013.

But I guess for now, I'll just sit back and wait for Noah's reply...all while playing Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Gates of Infinity. And no...it's not a bad game like the reviewers say it is.

As for Isaac and Shulk its mostly just fans grasping at straws, aka there is no way we can tell one way or the other.

I think there's a pretty good chance of getting Isaac or Shulk and a possible chance of getting both, but honestly I'd be pretty surprised if we didn't get either. Though it's not impossible. If we get Little Mac, another third-party, and... Mii (bleh), along with the existing three new series, it's possible Sakurai might think that's satisfactory as far as new series go.

Noah, in regards to your roster, they have gotten much better but I have a few qualms with it as well.

I 100% thought everything Hotfeet had mentioned (which you can read in Opposum's quote).

It's been brought up many times with you, Matthew over Isaac is kind of confusing to me. You speak a lot in this thread about how recency should not matter with a character's inclusion, yet your reason for having Matthew over Isaac....is recency.

Lastly, you shouldn't have DLC characters included on a roster. Sakurai stated in interviews that he is planning on getting everything he wants and can into the game. He said it's possible, but that means you shouldn't be leaving massively requested characters for DLC. Especially ones that are pretty high up on the popularity polls (Shortiecanbrawl's polls) as well as vets to the series. IE Roy and Mewtwo. But especially Mewtwo.

Yeah that's exactly the reason why I have only cut characters as DLC in my roster.
It gives less opportunity in future Smash games if they put the most wanted newcomers as DLC.

Fixed again. Xenoblade is one game so far. I'd prefer to see series that have 3 or more games waiting for representation in Smash.

Noah J. Linderer everybody. Cuts Sonic and Snake for Bomberman, Has mewtwo as DLC, thinks fire emblem deserves as many characters as LoZ, and has the sheriff.

If I could pick 3 new series to be represented next smash game, I'd pick The Rolling Western, Punch-Out!!!, and Golden Sun.
I don't think starfy has a place in smash bros at all compared to other characters.

I know this is a stretch, but I have an extra idea to add to that DLC idea.

Being a huge fighting game fan and being a veteran of many different titles, I've seen many different ways that companies have incorporated extra characters into their games. While there are good ones (Like Skullgirls) there is always bad ones (Like Street Fighter X Tekken). So...what about a vote?

A vote for a total of four characters, two being able to be voted on by North America and Europe while the other two revolve around Japan. The two characters to be voted for would be most overall wanted Nintendo characters and the most-wanted new IP to be represented in Smash Bros. Say if someone big didn't get into Smash Bros that many people wanted in North America but no so much in Japan and vice versa, well then you can vote for said character to try and get them in the game. As for the second one, it's a vote for whatever franchise hasn't been represented in Smash Bros yet. So if Starfy doesn't get in, Japan's vote would most likely be that of the Starfy series, and if Isaac or Shulk doesn't get in, North America's vote could be either Golden Sun or Xenoblade. If it's done that way, it's fair game and it's a fan-input.

Any thoughts on an idea like this?

Exactly what I've been saying. It's really unwise to assume that cut characters will be DLC due to how little DLC we may get, if any. Adding two DLC packs full of characters borders impossibility in my mind, and just seems to be wishful thinking.

I would agree, except I'm a little unsure on something. Are the Xenosaga and Xenogear games considered to be part of the same franchise as Xenoblade or are they their own entity? Because if so, the Xeno series has been going on for a LONG time, and it would be a pretty good idea to represent it in Smash Bros.

I think it's an idea that would please the fans, but it's probably not something Nintendo would do. At most they'd see the results as a suggestion but no company would probably agree to add whatever character tops the poll without exception, the developers still would have final say, not the fans. Plus, I doubt they would use the remaining most popular characters as DLC instead of saving them for use in future Smash games, but ideally... yeah, this would be a neat idea, it's just not one that will likely ever happen.

At the same time I'd be less suprised at Dillon making it than Starfy though.
Because he's the newest Nintendo IP at the moment and aesthetically he's well done. Not to mention his puzzle piece and sequel very closely following the first. Whereas starfy I think is just as likely as a character from advanced wars or something.
Most deserving 3 new series? Wii, Punch-Out!!!, and GS.

Depends on what you mean by superior. If we're going by amount of games in the series and sales, Starfy clearly wins. If we're going by universal acclaim, Golden Sun clearly wins.

Someone said this in regards to your roster.

He doesn't seem very smart. He seems pretty close minded, not considering that Sakurai may take a course of action that isn't exactly what everybody wants or thinks should happen.

1. What's wrong with Mewtwo being DLC? He's a returning character who was removed. Why do you think you're so sure he'll be available from the start, what matters is that he's playable. What about being DLC has no point to it? Wouldn't it make sense to have an already removed character be DLC rather than remove Lucario just so that he can be DLC?
2. People need to stop acting like they are so sure every Pokemon is going to return, that's just so naive. I'm trying to add a Gen 6 rep, it's most likely Newtwo will just be a Final Smash like Super Sonic. We have 4 Gen 1 reps. First you're all talking about removing Pokemon Trainer entirely which is stupid, and when someone just makes it a Gen 6 Trainer, there's a problem. I realize the populariyt of Squirtle, IvySaur, and Charizard, but again not every Pokemon is going to return. What do you suggest?
3. Also you don't know Third-Parties are going to return, nothing even implies that. This roster will have cuts, it makes sense to prioritize Nintendo Fighters in a Nintendo Fighting game. Third-Parties have only appeared once, so there's nothing saying they aren't gonna be a one time thing.
4. Already explained why there is nothing wrong with Dry Bowser.

New roster yay.

I forgot to switch out Chrom and Lissa for just Chrom this time around so treat that as jsut Chrom please.
Total of 45 character slots, I don't count Mii as an extra character slot as I suspect Mii to be a clone of literally every character in the game via costumes and thus not counted as put of the roster slot (just like how Random isn't counted).
Including transformations we have a total of 57 charatcers. Yes I know that is probably way to much.
The reason for that is due to the 2 trainer character, while I'm on that subject I only chose Kanto Female Trainer because I liked the design best and no other reason then that. Whil I know it would take up allot of development, it would be a good to actually rep all the gens whith male Trainer having starter Pokemon from the first 3 gen and female Trainer having Pokemon from the 3 most recent gens. But this is the most unlikely part of my roster I admit, however it's not totally unwaranted.

So thoughts?

At the moment, it's kind of doubtful that either Starfy or Isaac will be included. At least right now, maybe things will change once we get more details on what the hell is going on, because things could change this time around for all we know.
